XPRTNovice Posted June 15, 2014 Author Share Posted June 15, 2014 Windows 7. I'm not sure what setup is best, but basically I just need access to files on my computer while I am traveling. djpretzel Posted June 15, 2014 Share Posted June 15, 2014 Remote Desktop is built-in and is quite capable and relatively secure. By default it runs on port 3389, you may need to change this if your ISP blocks it, and you may need to configure your router for port-forwarding, but the time is well-spent. The only alternative I can recommend based on actual use is Splashtop, which is kinda cool because it actually allows gaming and what not, but I'd try RDP first as Splashtop does have some associated fees.
