El Rosa Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 I'm looking for sega genesis sounds, specifically sonic 1, 2, 3, 3&k I have searched and searched and I'm kind of frustrated because I can't seem to get anything to work on garageband, because that's the only program I have at the moment. I have found the Ultimate Sega Genesis Soundfont but garageband wont read all the different instruments in the .sf2 file, I need to split the instruments to separate files, but after trying that, they would have no sound. I have searched forums and nothing really helpful either, maybe now that it's the end of 2015 something has changed...? I hope so! If you know something please share it! Quote
Rapidkirby3k Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 I don't know if I'm allowed to mention this, but there's always The Sounds Resource. I found the Sonic SFX you're looking for there. Quote
Garpocalypse Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Have you tried VOPM? It's a free synth modeled after the Yamaha YM2151 which sounds extremely close to the YM2612 sound chip that was used in the Sega Genesis. http://www.geocities.jp/sam_kb/VOPM/ There's also a link to a ton of Genesis presets for VOPM here: http://truechiptilldeath.com/blog/2010/05/04/opm-patches-out-of-most-genesis-games/ Quote

Shane Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Not too familiar with Garage Band's capabilities, but you could always use an SF2 loader and a Genesis soundfont.https://woolyss.com/chipmusic-soundfonts.phpHave you considered trying Reaper? Quote
