My own comments about the mix:Did I overdo it lol?
This remix is for chapter 2 of the Impact of Iwata collaborative album, which is headed up by TSori and Lucas. This is a personal master, and not the final album master.

heavily filtered intro, but it expands quickly into a neat 9-bit vibe pretty quickly. the initial hit of sound does have an overly-heavy emphasis below 40hz, and so it feels pretty muddy down low. but the arrangement itself is really fun, with loads of little flips and turns in various places. the variety of leads used is great too. there's a break at about 0:58, and it settles down with some shaker for a bit before a chromaticism-heavy lead into a new groove at 1:25. i love the space in the bass here - the complexity of arrangement here is great and far and away more developed than the first time through the melodic content.

there's a half-time section at 2:10 where the drums are probably too loud (which i'm kinda OK with, since they're doing fun stuff), and then a big drop at 2:24 before a short ending section at 2:32.

this is fun! it is certainly bass-heavy and could use a cutoff filter, but i like the arrangement a lot and the synth work is excellent. nice job.

When things picked up at :16, the soundscape felt empty. Even more beats at :31 didn't help. Until the change at :46, the chippy leads sounded distant. Really lacks in high-end clarity/sharpness; I'm not sure how this was mixed in a way where nothing sounds upfront, but a musician J may have a straightforward explanation. Maybe prophetik's already covered how to address that. Some of the beats are cutting through and there are shrill/piercing sounds 1:53-2:08. I appreciate the arrangement otherwise, so that creativity's going to carry the day, but this still needs another mixing pass to sharpen it, so I hope this isn't the track's final form.

I'll be honest, I forgot this game even existed!

I don't hear any of the production issues proph and LT mentioned above. I suspect there might be some mud in the sub-bass, but if so it's not coming through in my setup. And the spectrograph shows an aggressive cutoff at about 18.5kHz, but I hear plenty of highs getting through. I do think the leads are occasionally too quiet, notably in 2:08-2:21, probably because the leads are thin and the bass and kicks are fat, but it's not a big enough issue to bother me.

While it would be made stronger by cutting out a bit of the bass, especially in the kicks, it's not enough to hold this back. It's a ton of fun.

Man, I played the hell out of Pokémon Pinball back when it came out! Great to see a remix of the title theme find its way into the inbox. And such a good one, too!

Arrangement is really fun, keeping the upbeat nature and really cranking it up with tons of fast runs and filthy bass. Sound palette is a nod to the original but obviously a big upgrade from the Game Boy. The bitcrushed drums, sweet-sounding pulse waves and soaring saw leads work well together, as we know chiptune sounds do. The mixing is a mixed bag, going from sounding really clean in the intro, to an overcompressed chokehold from 2:09-2:25 due to that huge amount of low-end, which is stifling the highs there to the track's detriment.

I hope those mixing issues can be fixed for the album's release, but they're not egregious enough to hold this one back from the front page as-is. Now, I wouldn't mind digging out my copy of Pokémon Pinball after that..!
