There are three things I need to have connected: the motif, a midi controller, and my soundcard. Soundcard has midi in and out, and the keyboard and the motif both have midi in, out, and thru. Sixto Posted August 17, 2007 Share Posted August 17, 2007 Controler's MIDI out to Motif's MIDI in, Motif's MIDI thru and audio outs to soundcard. Geoffrey Taucer Posted August 17, 2007 Author Share Posted August 17, 2007 But what if I want to send a signal from the computer to the motif? Also, I can't seem to get any sound out of the motif. I know it's recieving a midi signal, because there's a light that blinks whenever I hit a key or do anything else that should send a midi signal. I know it's hooked up to the mixer properly, because there's an audio spike when I turn the motif on. But I'm not hearing anything else from it. Then you'd have to disconnect your controller from the Motif, send it to the MIDI in on the soundcard and send the MIDI out from your soundcard to the MIDI in on the Motif. dannthr Posted August 17, 2007 Share Posted August 17, 2007 Frankly, I would opt for two MIDI I/O from your computer. Any Digital Audio Workstation software worth its salt will have MIDI sends and will compensate for latency. I always wanted to control my module from both my MIDI controller AND the computer and the only way to do that was to have two individual MIDI I/Os for each from the computer.
