NOIZROCX
OK. I can assume almost everyone here has either heard of or played Earthbound (Mother) Now, anyone who has played Mother 1 or 3 would it be worth buying an import copy of either game 1 or 3. I own Earthbound....one of my favorite RPG's actually. A cult classic if i may.
Bigfoot
Well, if you don't understand the language then I see no point in importing it. Earthbound was great in many ways, but reading the text was one of the great things.
Devyn
Mother (a.k.a. Earthbound Zero) is definitely worth the money. It's very similar to its sequel, and extremely challenging for a turn-based RPG. I didn't buy it though, I just played a fan translation on the emu. Also, it's equally as weird and quirky as Earthbound, if not more so. There are plenty of WTF moments and random events.
Geoffrey Taucer
I couldn't get into Earthbound Zero. As for Mother 3, I'm waiting for the fan translation to come out (mother3.org)
Gerbah
Mother 1 (or Earthbound 0) I would advise getting via a ROM. It's not actually a fan translation, but Nintendo's translation which was later canceled. So it has that going for it, I've only played a little bit of it and it is rather good. I just ordered my import copy of Mother 3 actually, and plan to use a translation guide to get through the game. PlayAsia had/may still have a special on the game, where you can get it for $15 + S&H. But if you're a fan of Earthbound, then downloading Mother 1 or importing Mother 3 is definitely worth considering.
BardicKnowledge
I bought a copy of EB0 on http://www.nesreproductions.com/ (along with FF2 and 3) and it was a great investment. Playing the games on the actual NES gives them a sweet feeling you just don't get elsewhere. As far as Mother 3 goes, wait for the fan translation. NOIZROCX
Thats mainly one reason I was asking haha, cause playasia has it on sale for 15 bucks, so you are saving 34 dollars....OK, thanks for the input
Airwalker
Mother 1 (or Earthbound 0) I would advise getting via a ROM. It's not actually a fan translation, but Nintendo's translation which was later canceled. If that was an official translation, you really have to wonder why Nintendo hasn't put it up on Virtual Console, or whether they will.
