Pyrion Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 http://www.enterthegame.com/menuitem.asp?SUB=141 When you connect to the ETG IRC network, we scan your connect for commonly known open virus ports, and insecure publicly accessable proxies on at least but not limited to ports: 23, 80, 1080, 3128, 8080, and SOCKS. If you are using a connect that is secure, you will connect to the EnterTheGame IRC network and we hope that you enjoy your stay with us. If you are using a connect that is insecure, you will be G-Lined/banned from the network. If this occurs, please see the section below labeled: Proxy G-Lines/Network Bans. Generally-speaking, your connection is wide-open to the outside world and ETG doesn't like that. You have to have some form of firewall blocking at least those ports. Quote
atmuh Posted December 4, 2007 Author Posted December 4, 2007 thats odd ive never had anything wrong before and i havent done anything different and i have pretty much no idea what to do Quote
OverCoat Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 ETG is a terrible server anyway, why would you want to go there :3 Quote
Ramaniscence Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 vIRC still suck? It sucked back when I used you Quote
suzumebachi Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 what the balls does that mean it means you have an insecure proxy. Quote
shikigami Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 wow the first service ive seen that actually requires you to close ports. what utter crap. 23 and 8080 being "open virus ports?" arent they used for secure connections only (ssh and https respectively)? Quote
