  1. Thanks for the support, I needed to hear this feedback. > Dunno how much of an interpretation or arrangement this is Are you saying it sounds like a midi rip? Other than that, I understand what you said, and am working. Thanks for listening! Anybody else have an opinion?
  2. I'd like to see this submitted to the judge's panel and have it go through the process to get on the site. It is a nice upbeat tune, well done. I think it ends abruptly. Perhaps you could use some more of the source at this point along with a solo of one of your leads, and then back into the chorus. I don't know - but I think it should be a little longer. Keep exploring this nice concept you've got going.
  3. I really dig the self-help tape samples from 3:30-3:57. Perfect bridge.
  4. Honestly, I enjoyed this more than Tales of Phantasia.

  6. Starla and Rama are gone this week but OHC028 is STILL on! http://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/OHC028
  7. I like the radio show. What time is that in GMT? Last time I tuned in at 8pm my time and it was over.
  8. Water zones: Interesting concepts. I like the drowning one. The piano rolls sounded nasty, for example at 1:35. I think that sound needs to change somehow. The whole song seems kind of like a midi-rip with instrumental sounds. Not enough remixing going on. The instrumentation is beautiful though. For the most part. There are some sounds that just don't fit, for example like I said that instrument that is doing the rolls. (Piano?) Mystic cave: Nice intro. This is good stuff. I think the lead instrument should be solidified a little, so that the listener can "follow" the song. I feel uncomfortable when I lose track of the melody. Overall this piece sounds less like a midi rip. Nice work.

  12. I'm playing tonight. Hop on #ocrtf2 and let me know and I'll switch to the OCR server. Oh, apparently there are already people online.
  13. The beginning of it sounds like that one Red Hot Chili Peppers song. *looks it up* Under the Bridge http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQOYCXKfpt4 amiright
  14. I thought it was actually entertaining and fun. The writing was decent too! Ganon singing the nanana's is definitely absurd... but I'm with MrSneak on this one.
  15. Does anybody know what instrument that is at the beginning? The one that plays the main melody. At 0:11, right when he starts singing. And then what about at 0:24 it sounds like the instrument changes to a synth and plays a low note or something.
  16. The internet makes it hard to give genuine compliments. No sarcasm, I promise.
  17. What wise advice! I never thought to do this before... I can see now how playing with the effects and going crazy helps you learn, but then if you try to keep your work it'll be really messy and ugly - going back to the saved one forces you to have learned something and know what you're doing and then cleanly apply the desired effects.
  18. I like this. Possible improvements: - could sound a little more full - more effects and variations to break up repetitiveness - possibly give it a climax and crescendo Keep it up!
  19. I'm just being lazy here, but do you have a link to the source handy?
  20. I like your style. The lead synth sounds monotonous, as if it was miked in the basement with bad gear. (Sorry, I don't know all the musical jargon.) Perhaps slightly detuning it or stereo separating it. Other than that, the entire song sounds a bit muddy and in the low end, which has kind of a mushy sloppy sound. It's just production type things like Zircon said, keep working on those. But yes, please keep working on this.
  21. And what a swell job he did! In fact, I'm kind of embarrassed at the quality of mine. I've decided to completely re-arrange it, keeping the theme the same. Thanks for the feedback; I agree and I will work on the things you mentioned.
  22. Very enjoyable. I'd like to see this through completion. What vocoder do you use?
