I actually provided a synth solo and koto samples. And I will concur in support for Zoltan. Jahan is, by far, the nicest man in metal I've ever met, and as you can see by his contributions to OCR, his game AND this album, this dude is a serious up and comer. If you enjoy actual music talent and want to see future metal and game projects worth giving a shit about, donate to this album and reap some awesome rewards as listed on the kickstarter page.

Enemies/moments that scare the **** out of you!

In-game, you have every reason to be terrified of them. They can take you out in one-two hits without much regard to your equipment or levels. -

The entire enemy cast of 7th Saga. Look at them. LOOK AT THEM! And they were every bit as vicious as they looked too! -
To be fair, it can take an indie composer (as most typically have full-time jobs and lives to run) months to complete even 25 minutes of usable music and composers can be a fickle bunch (admit it, its true). A lot of times they just want to get someone they can trust in and get started when they're ready. So while its really smart to wait until a project is mostly finished, it's also not really necessary and probably not great time management on the developers' end. IMO, a better compromise would be to wait until the project is like half finished.

I wasn't able to find your examples, do you mind to post them again? I'd like to be in, but I still can't get over this feeling that, with the way you seem to describe actually working for you, I'd put in two weeks of work on several tracks, only for it to have a good chance of being rejected because you didn't think it was "good". Now obviously you can't just accept any chiptune shit that gets sent to you, but the compromise of free work is you have to give your artists some pretty good freedom to create. There is no incentive to try to work for you otherwise. Certainly you could understand why working for free for someone who is more than likely going to waste your time by throwing your tracks away and saying "Nah, these aren't what I had in mind, try again. :D" would viciously suck. Also understand that I'm not going into detail here so much to criticize you, I'm just better trying to establish working for you as you're still not very specific on a lot of things here.

I have one where I use all the characters available to me in the game. Even the terrible ones. For some reason, it drives me nuts to see people playing an RPG or fighting game or whatever and only use the same 4 best characters throughout the entire game. I hate that shit.

I used to do this until my schedule got too fucked up to accomplish it. My weird gaming habit was I used to play games the exact same way dozens of times over. EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Some games that work in chiptunes actually want/need the tracker files to work - so I'm told.

That's a pretty heavy workload for something you want for free. I was interested in giving it a shot, but doing 21 songs is hard enough without having the risk that a majority of them will not be used because they weren't "good" (and usually if someone is using a vague term like that as the benchmark for quality, it means trouble). It seems like you're just trying to find a sucker who is somehow talented and wanting, yet not experienced enough to know when he's not getting a good deal out of it. And how is an 8 bit track supposed to be "soft" yet "intense" at the same time? If you'd like to relax these standards to a reasonable degree, you'll have a much higher chance of getting a high quality chiptune soundtrack, on time, that gamers will enjoy once your game is finished. As it is now - yeah, this has "BAD DEAL" written all over it. Whoever gets this job is going to waste a lot of time and energy.

Actual questions that would be relevant: 1. How many songs are you looking for? 2. Can you give Youtube examples of what you're looking for? 3. What does one have to do to become composer for this project? 4. How far on this project are you guys? I had one or two more, but I forgot what they were in a distracting moment as I was typing.

Did you want me to contact that video artist I told you about a couple weeks ago? Would that help any progress? -

You can send me another one if you'd like, I just wanted to see if there was something reasonable one of us could help with. -

Yeah I should still have one somewhere. Rozovian, you need to let me know if you need to get it from one of us. -
Since both are equally big news for Nintendo fans, can I edit the thread to put the focus on Nintendo's announcements today so that both games, and more, can be featured as opposed to focusing on one or the other? I don't mind editing the thread to focus on Zelda, I just wonder if that was a possibility.

http://www.polygon.com/2013/4/17/4234398/the-legend-of-zelda-link-to-the-past-sequel-coming-to-nintendo-3ds This is the first Zelda in years I've actually wanted to play more than any other. ***damn, I've seen some other pictures of it posted already and it looks fantabulous. Also, this: http://www.vg247.com/2013/04/17/nintendo-direct-us-and-uk-announcements-incoming/.
