  1. so i've been working on my track on the school computers. and i definitely didn't think to copy over my vocal samples to my dropbox. so now i'm trying to figure out if i can vpn into the network or if i should just scrap that idea and try to rerecord them. ugh. dislike. EDIT i guess i backed some of them up. so i only have to rerecord a few things. much happier now. EDIT i'm lazy so i just imported an older mp3 into the project file and muted it everywhere except for where the lost samples were.
  2. You can finish in time! I believe in you! But in case you don't, you should still finish it and post it when you're done. I'd like to see what you do with my crappy theme.
  3. Maybe if I make it through to next week, I'll come up with something brand new. However, this time around, my track's gonna be pretty similar to the rest of mine: thumping beats and sidechaining everywhere.
  4. Both of my previous tracks exclusively used the magical 8bit plugin and sytrus (and drum samples). I used lots of effects.
  5. What's wrong with Underground?
  6. I'm not slacking! (for once...) I have about 5+ mins of stuff I'm sorta ok with. The balancing and effects came out all wonky tho, cause in FL it sounded good and rendered it sounded like poop. But that's to be expected, since each week I've experimented with some new technique I've never used before. I'm gonna (try to) make you all dance in your seats again!
  7. A million frowny faces to you! :( :( :( :( :(
  8. Is anyone else getting kinda tired of their source tune? :
  9. Thanks so much, SuperiorX!
  10. Thank you! I'm looking for more of an electronic sound rather than analog.
  11. Anyone know where I can find some good cymbal roll samples? Preferrably not an orchestral one, as I already have one of those.
  12. if nothing else, i'm really happy about this week, cause i'm experimenting with my own vocal samples. i've done recordings for others before, but this is the first time i've actually worked with them.
  13. I've been wanting to tackle this track this whole time, after hearing what everyone's done with it so far. And I'm extremely surprised I made it this far into the compo. Thanks to everyone who voted for me and especially thanks to halc for being such a fantastic opponent!
  14. I like funny! Funny is good
  15. submitted! better get prepared
  16. My entry for tomorrow is basically "wheee i just learned how to use filter automation!"
  17. my track clocks in around ~4:20, and in the polishing phase. i like the individual pieces of it, but i'm not too sure how it all flows together. but at least i have something submitable now!
  18. i'm at around 2:00. got a lot more work to do these next two days, and i only have maybe 8 hours tomorrow and 4 on friday to work. crunch time!
  19. Pro: i have a few ideas that could work. Con: i'm not very fond of any of them. There's always tomorrow!
  20. hoping that inspiration will strike me sometime soon. i don't want to feel rushed this time around.
  21. haven't started yet. you?
  22. Thanks! Your track was a lot better than I had expected, given your self-deprecating comments. You've got to give yourself more credit! Thanks for being a fantastic opponent!
