  2. When I think about it I guess "any way you want" means I can remix in "any way I want"! Then ignore my post This'll be fun, thanks!
  3. Soo.. Gotta ask before I start. What's the opinion on implementing chipmusic in your remixes? I know people tend to hate pure chip-remixes (even if the original was orchestrated ) but if I use it for.. well, stuff? The truth is, I don't have a comp good enough so for now I'm remixing with real instruments in a cute little portable studio. Although I HAVE some music programs for the gameboy so I thought that this can make my ReMix interesting. An example of how I was thinking (this is no remix just a musical example) can be found on www.anothersoundscape.tk . So, is this okay or do you guys really just hate this kinda lame remixing and only select the best made entirely in a proffesional studio with ProTools and the most expensive softwaresynths ever made? Hope Not!
  4. I LOVE THIS ARRANGEMENT! One of the best arrangement I've heard musically! First the harp-ish variation of the folk-ish opening story theme from Zelda: WW, it is really a good work and when the strings starts you feel there's no stopping DarkeSword from making something epic! And then the horns and timpani drums. Epic was the word. The most awesome is when the snare starts pumping the millitary beat and the harp comes in once again to assist the choral-voices and the word epic is no longer enough for anyone who played through this game. Although here's a small weakness. The tams. They seem malplaced but ofcourse they serve their purpose to give some more cruch to the track. still, maybe they could've been exchanged? And then the wonderful zelda theme cloured by the most beautiful chords and played (okay not played) on a nice flute sound. Then more horns. This is just to much. Well, I'be realized I'm just saying exactly what the song is.. sorry. But it's so good I can't do anything else Anyways, Download this NOW! That's how good it is
  5. Love this one (yeah, this one to.) Nice lil' arrangement wich gives a real dub-hiphop-street-ish sound mixed with the loveable theme from Link to the past. And man, the drums get me going! I sat in like an hour trying to play the whole loop at my drumset at home (It was hard but I could do the most things except the cool-ish hi-hat-abusing) Anyways, I love the drums and it really gives a wonderful character to the song and gives you something to relate to even though the mix get a little bit to repetitive. Still, good mix! keep it up Ben
  6. We need MORE of these! Kirby is waaay underrated and should be remixed as lot as Final Fantasy.. almost anyways, I like the mix a lot! One thing that bothers me though is that everything seems to "mush-up" in a not-so-nice-ish way when the piano comes in. Maybe the drums are a bit to loud to. otherwise this remix is GREAT! I mean GREAT-ish! good
  7. As we all now by now CotMM (yeah, you know what it means!) loves to use real, let me describe it as industrial-distorted-effect-ish sound. And yes, I like that a lot often. When I first listened to this mix I just didn't get it was cid's theme until cid's theme starts playing (I know, freaky ain't it?) and ofcourse then I felt at home. The thing that makes this remix not-so-good-as-the-other-CotMM-mixes-ish is maybe just what the name applies.. Simplicity. Still it's a neat mix and I like it. Although some more piano wouldn't hurt.
  8. Banana = Yellow curved fruit. Slumber Party = A sleepover-party Banana Slumber Party = A yellow curved fruit that has a sleepover-party and YES this song represents that.. in some.. way.. :/ Ah well, I used to think this was pretty awesome and I still do because of nostalgia. Wicked.
  9. One of my favorite remixes on OCR. Mazedude utilizes some very different sounds and still manages to hold quite the groove. I love the almost atonal guitar and the synth brass. Wonderful use of processing and pitching. A keeper, a funky keeper too.
  10. I LOVE IT! You guys are SMOOTH! I can sure as hell take it as it is now but maybe you're right about the font being hard to read. if you've got time just post the final results later on Thanks a TON for your help
  11. Dj Pheonix's best work, by far. The intro kinda sucks onto you, just so you know it's the right song you're listening to, THEN it happens. The drums are a surpirse, at first I thought it would be one of those typical techno mixes but when the drums build even more and the breakbeat is into my bones, the melody kicks in. And I love the way he do it, even though the sample that he uses for the main melodie is a BIT not good, it's used to perfection. Although something I miss in this mix is a more "hold-together-ish" feeling. it feels like the drums is all that matters and then it's just 2-3 different loops all over again. maybe if pheonix had some mroe instruments and stuff in what you could cal the "chorus" Still, a very good remix. Keep it up.
  12. I LOVE THIS Ever since I started listening to OC-remixes a good version of Song of Storms from zelda 64 (togeter with a good version of sarias song , still waitn') was all I wanted to hear to get nostalgic. FINALLY someone has done it, and man SAiNT 420 did it GOOD! I've listened through this eight bazillion times by now and the only thing I can say about that is NOT positive is the first distorted guitar solo is kinda hard to listen to. Otherwise this is one of my all time favorites, maybe bexause I'm a guitarist and zelda lover but admit it, it IS catchy. Good call SAiNT! BTW, I surfed in on his website and find a version with drums and synth that was even better listen to that one! Maybe SAiNT can change this one to the full arrangement over time? Anyways, good remix, listen if you've played zelda OoT, otherwise.. listen anyway
