  1. Just when I thought Nintendo was doing good things. Solid Snake in SSB? ... At least maybe now the music will be more than background noise with Uematsu on the team
  2. I'm a little late with this post but by throw I meant the actual throw OR any condition where your character loses their footing (such as a smash attack at 100%) Gannondorf is very heavy and even smash attacks at high percentages don't send him nearly as far as other characters. Falco is much heavier than Fox and slightly more powerful. Why do you think I use Fox in the Ultimate Doom Mode I created? (psst. He's the lightest character) Jigglypuff's Rest is very effective when done in combination with TapDown (increase your falling speed and then Rest. Kiss your enemy goodbye). Pichu is slightly faster and almost half the size of Pikachu. If you've ever fought an experienced player who is Pichu, they practically abuse ducking. (I play as Link and only my down moves can reach him) My current best characters are: Link Marth Captain Falcon Samus Yoshi
  3. Jigglypuff has stronger attacks (a la one-hit-kill sleep attack) Young Link is damn fast and his spin attack pulls you in for extra damage. Link's spin attack pushes you away. Gannon is slightly more powerful and a lot heavier (which effects how far you can be thrown and how fast you fall). Luigi is taller and slightly more powerful.
  4. That list is huge load of BS. All the characters in SSBM are extremely well balanced. I've seen Kirby's kick the living shit out of Sheiks of the same fighting ability. I play as Link and I do very well against all the characters. Its all about knowing your character and exploiting everything you can. I personally think Sheik is a fairly bad character. No real long range stuff. His attacks are all mainly short range attacks. His speed can make up for it, but even when you switch to Zelda, the long range capabilities are highly under par. Like wise, Mewtwo has some really good mid and long range attacks, as well as very strange movements (which definitely work in your favor). Overall its like I said before, its all about how you handle the character. Even Pichu (who I notice is at the very bottom) has a HUGE advantage (hes the smallest character. Good luck trying to hit him). Even though he accumulates damage every time he attacks, he is fast, small, and fairly powerful for his size, and that speaks volumes about what he is capable of. Plus how can Marth and Roy be so far apart? THEYRE FRIGGIN CLONES!!
  5. NINJA MASTER PSYCHO MODE Stock 10 No items damage ratio 0.5 One CP lv9 Handicap 9 Falco One CP lv9 Handicap 9 Fox VERSUS You Handicap 1 Lots of fun. Even more fun if you record it and then slow-mo parts where you do something really cool (like the time a jumped right between Falco and Fox's lasers and then slashed Falco off the stage and kicked Fox into the ground) FOX'S ULTIMATE DOOM MODE Stock infinite Bumpers only Very HIgh damage ratio 2.0 One CP lv1 Handicap 3 Fox VERSUS You Handicap 9 Ever wonder what a fox looks like when he's bouncing around the stage like a red furry pinball? PIMP SLAP SAVE-THE-DAY MODE Stock 5 Items on or off (take your pick) damage ratio 1.0 One CP lv9 Mario (Red Team) VERSUS Two CP lv1 Jigglypuffs (Blue Team) VERSUS You (Green Team) The green guy (you) is a pimp. You much protect your bitches (blue team) from the evil pervert (Mario). Keep your bitches in line while you give Mario the ass-whoopin he deserves for tryin steal your skanks.
  6. If its from some old game system like SNES, Genesis, NES, etc. You can reduce the color palette to 256 colors (or 16 depending on the system). Also, if its a size reduction, use nearest neighbor interpolation instead of bicubic or bilinear.
  7. Dude I'm on a 1440 x 900 screen and your avatars still look bad. Grow up. They're just avatars. And he's not saying "NO NEVER" he's saying they'll have to look a lot better before he'll use them. I had to redo my avatars a few times before LT okayed them. I still have a few that are too pixelated and they were not resized. Sometimes, game graphics just suck. Look at my Guilty Gear avatars. They're all really pixelated, but they aren't resized at all. They are all straight game rips and they look pretty bad.
  8. Love the new site! 4-Tan chibi is awesome.
  9. I don't have a problem with ProTools. I have to use it alot at school (on G4's just like zircon. Poor little obsolete bastards). But I'm saving my money for Logic 7. It does a hell of a lot more than ProTools and its got greater connectivity to Garage Band and AudioUnits. Plus I don't need an MBox
  10. he does finish them, he just never updates them =) he tends to use less arrangement than most, and might need a guiding hand once in a while, but he's solid on his synthesis, and he's good at electronic orchestral stuff. Thanks Proph. I've so many things going on lately its been hard to keep up. Plus no one has posted anything new in the Pokemon project so I'm not far behind. Hell, my Viridian Forest wip is pretty much done except for some production issues! And if no one posts a Burnt Tower mix soon, I'm taking it because I had a great wip for it and everything! Anyway... What songs are available to be mixed? I wanted to join this project but I didn't think I was good enough for it. Thanks for recommending me.
  11. Ganon in Zelda: A Link to the Past. When he starts snuffing out the torches and making pieces of the floor fall away, it gets really crazy. Between lighting the damn torches, trying not to fall down the holes in the floor, avoiding Ganon's whirling tridant while trying to shoot him with a silver arrown and then slash him is absolutely nuts. I don't know how I ever beat that damn game.
  12. Got some Guilty Gear X goodness: Ky Kiske Chip Zanuff Sol Badguy Faust Millia Rage Venom Johnny May Zato LT: Ky Kiske looks ok, but everything is too pixelated. Looks like the shrinking was too drastic. You need something that preserves more detail.
  13. I can't speak for others, but I know Garage Band and Logic have a voice enhancer that you can use to keep your voice in the correct pitch and tempo even if the recording of your singing is off. I'm sure FL and others have something like that as well. Maybe not. Maybe theres' a free plug-in? I don't know. Just telling you that I have such a thing on my computer. For extracting the vocals, if you have a audio editing program like ProTools or something, you can take an instrumental version of the song and inverse the waveform and merge it with the vocal version to neutralize everything but the voice.
  14. Same. Either that, or start with a simplistic drum beat or melodic line and build it from that.
  15. Programs Music Generator 1.4 Garage Band 2.0 (with Inspector plug-in) EWQLSO Silver (Not to mention tons of soundfonts) Instruments Conn Director's trumpet 1960's Kent guitar Other Equipment AudioTecha ATR 20 dynamic mic Sony MDR-700 headphones
  16. I also wanted to put some Devil May Cry stuff, but they didn't come out very good. Dante Vergil The vVergil one came out really bad and personally I'd only use the first or third Dante. LT: Only the 3rd Dante came out decent, but even then it's a bit too muddy. Just work on getting that one going and forget the rest.
  17. Some U.N. Squadron love: EDIT--Fixed them (BEFORE==>AFTER) UN Squadron logo EDIT--It is resized. ==> Shin Kazama ==> Mickey Scymon ==> Greg Gates LT: The logo looks good, though it's not 32x32 like it's supposed to be. The rest look muddy. Gotta sharpen them up, but otherwise they look cool. I hope you fix 'em. EDIT: Nice job on the fixes. Looks all set.
  18. I just get an adapter that turns a mini jack (regular line-in jack) to a 1/4" jack (guitar-sized jack) and plug simple double ended cord (mini jack on each end) into the sound input of the computer, then put the adapter on the cord and plug it into the guitar. Instant computer guitar amp that goes striaght into your line-in port!
  19. Just use iTunes. It covers all the tags you'd want to alter. Just convert a song to mp3 then File>Get Info (Command+i) and change the tags.
  20. I want to use the Quicktime Synthesizer in Garage Band (I know teh suckage) but I can't select different patches! I chose the Apple DLS generator and the Quicktime sound bank but it wont let me choose which patch I want! It only plays the piano. The DLS lets me use soundfonts and other synths, but I want to be able to just use the Quicktime synths before I starting looking around for soundfonts. Does anyone have any help for me?
  21. Strange. No, it wasn't on sale.. I guess East/West forced them to raise the price. Brilliant marketing I got it from Scitscat off of eBay for $140 and free shipping. That was two months ago. I don't think they changed the price that fast.
  22. A truly excellent example of using the original music in the remix is The Wingless's Tear Drinker
  23. I have a problem of my own. My guitar will not make sound when I plug it into the amp. I know its not the jack because I just got it cleaned and repaired about six months ago. I know its not the cable because I tried several different ones. Is it possible that just a wire or two came loose or is it much worse than that? If it is the just a loose wire, how much does that cost to fix?
  24. Most of the higher end music programs and sound libraries require at least 256 or 512 Mb of RAM. 1 Gb or higher RAM is ideal though. A lot of music programs also require a pretty fast processor, like 512 Mhz or 1 Ghz. But lower end programs can run on much less. Music Generator runs on (I think) like 32 Mb of RAM, but it also lacks the sound quality and audio effects power of stuff like Reason or FL Studio. Like Taucer said, you can do it on pretty much any computer, but faster processor and higher RAM really help alot.
