  1. http://soundcloud.com/michael-lee-52/interrupted-by-fireworks i clearly have a thing for this song, to remix it a second time... tell me what you guys think! thanks
  2. Alright thanks for the input. I'll try to mess with the snares a bit, and also play around with some of the balancing. Also, do you guys feel like any instruments or parts are missing? I dont have much background in symphonic outside of chamber orxhestra (violins viola cello bass). Appreciate the feedback, and leave more if you guys think of any!
  3. hey all. I'm pretty new to non-live remixing, so I'll probably need a lot of help. Here's the link to what I've got right now. Thanks a lot for your help guys https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B8LZiz1rCVPIcmRjdktNQkxTSnlTZnlWYl9qTUdQQQ
  4. first, you want to find out what kind of pickup it is. It's most likely the 'under the saddle' type of pickup, with piezo crystals. The water probably didn't do anything to the crystals, but to the electronics connected to them. I really have no idea how one would go about fixing this. But first things first, find out what type, and you can just replace it.
  5. i must say, your two VotL mixes (jenova and fading entity) are amazing. im blasting them on my headphones right now, and they're one of the few vgm remixes that i carry around with me wherever.

  6. hey, can you swap me back to bran bal? no matter how clueless i am as to what i want to do with the track, it's got so much more meaning in my ears. daguerro would be a cop out

  7. i was gonna say celes dying too......... but then i read kb's post and saw that picture. now it's not sad anymore...at all. although it's not teary sad, i found majora's mask end-of-three-days pretty depressing
  8. i have this problem. the problem involves only your screen, not at all your computer (to make sure, try plugging in a diff computer on the monitor). for me, when i turn on the monitor, it's fine initially, but then that slowly turns to this big ugly bruise-like thing (hundreds of 'dead' pixels). there's also a pattern to the dead pixels, for me at least. they all cluster and look almost like a corner of a smaller square within the monitor's screen. it's time to get a new monitor.
  9. been trying to make songs specifically for loop pedals if you guys have any suggestions, please let me know so i can incorporate more ideas into it. thanks
  10. or you can go to a big guitar store and play em all so you know what you're getting is what you want
  11. i liked it up to around 0:27. up to 0:50, i thought it'd be nice if you used something different for the melody. can't wait to hear what else you'll do with this
  12. love the source, and love this too. The only thing I wasn't so fond of was the vocal bit. Sounded a little out of place to my ears.
  13. alright, thanks guys. I'll agree that the melody line is changed into oblivion. I really only followed it from like 0:15 to 1:20, and even then, I was quite liberal i guess. After that, i just did whatever came to mind as I played without regard to the original, besides the MOOD of the original. Basically, my main focus was to keep the general atmosphere of the original; the only difference between the two is in the last third, where I tried to transition into a lighter tone. Anyways, anymore comments? Anything regarding production and such would also be appreciated.
  14. original - http://omikron.bluelaguna.net/ff7music/73%20-%20Off%20the%20Edge%20of%20Despair.mp3 or http://delta.bluelaguna.net/ff7music/73%20-%20Off%20the%20Edge%20of%20Despair.mp3 remix - http://www.snapdrive.net/files/248352/edge%20of%20despairwip1.mp3 or http://uploadfile2.putfile.com/getfile/11804--9a603slasha50360512855video--056sslash14800255749.mp3 comments please
  15. Yeah, I overdub, although I really wish I could find a second performer who is interested in video game music. Anyways, this church is NOT a cathedral. the walls are like...normal walls........ the room is about 40' x 120' with a stage in front.
  16. thanks for the honesty jamesgeorge. I should really reevaluate my obsession with sticking with 2 guitars no matter what. It's just that I've played gigs in a duet for over two years now, and so I see any more than 2 guitars both as a distraction (too cluttered) and as a cheap way of filling in any blank spots. I would prefer both guitars being quite distinct from one another. But i will probably rerecord with your suggestions; i'll probably find a room in my church with decent acoustics so that I don't have to mess with artificial reverb and eq. i have a sm57, km184, and some random ~100$ condenser mic (dr-cx1). I can only use two at once. Which ones do you think I should use, and where should I place them?
  17. nah. Even after I make the changes, I don't know if I should submit...
  18. I will sorta agree with Altus here. While I did not consciously make the decision to make it sound like it came from that time period, it definitely is a sound I prefer to the rather flat sound I was getting before. Still, though, I think I will follow Avaris's suggestion to some extent, since there are some spots that are dangerously near clipping, and the harmonics are sometimes hard to hear.
  19. thanks a bunch for the suggestion. I'll definitely lay off on the eq for boosting the bass. however, what did you mean specifically for "besides the jazz"? lol or maybe you just meant jazz as in what you said earlier. haha sorry, my gig partner is a jazz guitarist, so i've been influenced by jazz. thought you were pointing out some jazz-influenced thing that in the song.
  20. Recorded with a km184 and a shure sm58 (to closemic and get a nice bassy sound). Overdubbed, added a bit of eq (increase lower frequencies by about 6db), and reverbed. http://www.myfilehut.com/userfiles/83254/reverbed%20and%20done%20i%20think.mp3 right now, i'm not exactly happy with the sound i'm getting from my guitar; the sounds are too thin in my opinion. If anyone can help solve this through eq, that'd be nice. tell me what you guys think
