  1. Ah, LoD is a great game. I've actually been working on a track from the game on and off.
  2. Sounds great! Wish I knew how to write like that.. when playing with orchestra intruments I never know what instruments to use together and which to leave out.
  3. Is there any way to load just one VSTi into a channel, but use multiple sounds on that VSTi in different patterns? For example: I want to use a piano sound in pattern 1, but a string sound in pattern 2, on the same instance of a VSTi. The VSTi I'm using allows loading multiple slots of intruments at one time, but I don't want to have the piano and the strings playing at the same time. How could I achieve this without loading another instance of the same VSTi?
  4. Very chill. I really like what you've made so far. Keep it up! Nice website BTW.
  5. Wow this amazing so far.. Not that I would'nt expect it to be.
  6. I remember almost ALL the bosses in that game being hard. You know, fuck the haters, I kinda enjoyed that game. I agree that the bosses in Quest64 were really tough. That's one of the most challenging games I've played. Oh yeah and pretty much every Sigma in the Mega Man games were hard for me to beat.
  7. Awesome, I'd love to hear what you have to say about it. I've actually been considering it too.
  8. Thanks for the share, I'll have to check it out.
  9. I have a few questions about Quantizing notes. I use Reason as my sequencer. I notice it has like 1/4, 1/16, and 1/32 in a drop down box next to the button. How do I know which to use? And should I quantize while I'm recording off of a MIDI keyboard or should I quantize after I'm done? I'm just having trouble understanding how it fixes notes and stuff like that. Any help is appreciated.
  10. I'm thinking about learning how to play the piano [keyboard] correctly, but I was wondering if any of the seasoned players here had some advice for me as far as books go. I'm looking on Amazon.com and the reviews look pretty promising for this book: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0879307277/sr=8-2/qid=1149211959/ref=pd_bbs_2/103-4879650-3558208?%5Fencoding=UTF8 I also had a few people recommend Hanon, the 60 exercises. I'm not sure what the best books are, so I thought I would ask some people around here before I buy anything. Thanks.
  11. I've got an Intel Integrated soundcard right now. It sucks, to sum it up. [No brainer] I was thinking about getting either an M-Audio Audiophile 2496 MIDI or an E-Mu 0404. Are these cards reliable when it comes to latency and creating music? My budget is at about $150 right now, so is there something a little better than those two you can think of? Or are one of those a good choice?
  12. Hey guys. I'm Mahon.. my real name is Tim. I'm 16 years old, almost 17. I'm from the USA; South Carolina to be exact. I have been visiting this site for quite awhile now, I just haven't registered until now. I have loved Music for as long as I've been old enough to appreciate it. There is just something about music that makes me go crazy. I have an incredible passion for it. I have been playing guitar for about 3 years now. I'm trying to teach myself piano, but I guess we'll see how that works out. For about 2 years of my life [since I first saw this site] I've been frustrated trying to figure out how to hook a MIDI controller up to my computer and use it to sequence music. I finally got Reason 3.0 a few days ago and got it to work. I'm pretty excited now! As far as other things: I like to play video games, I love art, I love to be creative, and I love graphic design. I'm pretty much involved with anything artistic. So that pretty much means that I'm a beginner when it comes to piano,Mixing/ReMixing and all of the technical stuff that comes along with those categories. I'm not a beginner to music, but I struggle with piano and hardware setups. I have a question though.. I have been reading over the Judges' section of the forum and I'm a little bit nervous at how many NO's I see. I'm a beginner, so I feel that most of those people have been creating music for some time. Also, the ones that get accepted, for the most part, are incredible. Is it normal to feel intimidated as a beginner? Well, that's it for my long post. Thank you for reading. I just wanted to introduce myself.. I hope to talk to all of you in the future.
  13. I am also trying to learn piano. It's alot harder to learn compared to guitar, IMO. I also love Chopin, amazing music. Thanks for the sheet music sites.
