I have been listening to every version of this from first to last. And I have to say: really stunning stuff Chris. This just has so much energy and excitement. Absolutely love it. I thought I'd post now just to wish you good luck with the judges. Not that you should need it with such an inspiring remix.

Hang on - djp is against remixing competitions? Why is that? Aplologies I have the wrong the end of the stick.

I think I would make better compositions if I stop worrying all the time about whether these "three notes sound generic", or "that chord sequence sounds generic". I'm always too busy trying to come up with something that's "never been done before", when in reality the majority of the time I end up composing something too obscure and strange because of it. The reason a lot of chord sequences are used so often is because they work and sound good!

I would've made it if it were slightly earlier but 9pm central was about 3am in the morning for me lol. Maybe next time though - especially if I don't have any lectures the next morning.

Thanks James. I remember being told once before that I stick too close to the original melodies in this remix. Trouble is, I like hearing the original tunes in all ther glory lol. I suppose my interpretation lies more in the arrangement of the sources rather than in melody. Is this enough? I don't really know.
