  1. A guy by the name of Thunderf00t whom I often watch made a video about how Anita's recent claim that she had to cancel her talk at a university in Utah because of a hardcore death threat was a total lie. Thunderf00t suggests that it was all a part of her professional victim hood routine and just did it to draw more attention to herself. What do you guys think?
  2. Thanks guys. Your praise is greatly appreciated. What I really need is another content creator to join me and release videos on this same channel because I can't put out videos like that in a timely manner. If you know someone who wants to make videos, definitely let me know!
  3. That's the dungeon I was referring to. Is it not as long as I remember? I know it's split into chunks but I still count it all as one big dungeon since it really is. Do you actually not have to leave and do something outside of the dungeon at one point? It certainly felt really long since the music in the village won't revert back to normal until you finish that dungeon (I think). I'm playing the game right now, I guess I'll find out eventually. Too bad it's only on the Japan PSN and not the American one. Is it on the European one?
  4. Do you like them? I find that I want to feel like I just had an epic adventure after I finish a dungeon but creating such a feeling is pretty hard in games. I recently found myself reflecting on Brave Fencer Musashi. That game is excellent and it has music by the founder of the Black Mages, by the way. There's a dungeon that takes a REALLY long time in that game. If I remember correctly, you actually have to leave the dungeon and go do something else and come back before you can finish it. It feels like the longest part of the game and when I finally beat that thing I was so happy. The boss battle didn't disappoint and I had that feeling of an epic adventure. I feel the same way in several of the dungeons in Alundra as well. They actually aren't THAT long but you have to solve tons of puzzles throughout. So by the time I've finished I've used my hands AND my mind. That also feels epic. Do you prefer long or short dungeons? What are some dungeons you particularly like or dislike? SO FUN THREAD!
  5. I think it sounds great. the vocals are so good and sound similar to those of the source tune.
  6. I'm looking at the papers that the doctor that delivered my daughter gave us about children and media. It says that letting children under two years old watch any kind of digital media could result in slowed development of the brain and taking longer to learn how to speak. The reason for this is because it's important for children to have interaction (like with their parents). Television does not give this to children because they just passively sit there and receive stimulation. In summary, it doesn't matter what the content of the program is. Children should not watch TV until they can talk. Instead children should lick things, knock over towers of blocks, roll balls around, throw (safe) things, and flip things over. This is all information I received from a professional. This thread would be much more beneficial to all of us if everyone stopped posting their opinions of what they think is appropriate for children, and limited themselves to PROFESSIONAL ADVICE and PERSONAL EXPERIENCES as I requested in the first post of this thread. It is not difficult, even in this modern world, to completely prevent your children from watching digital media. Just leave the TV off. I play games when my daughter sleeps. It's not a hard transition to make.
  7. I skipped posting a link for episode 21 because reasons. Here is episode 22. it's AMAZING! At least I think it is. I spent a long time on it and am really pleased with the final product. Oh yeah. I don't use the website anymore so the previous links don't work. I'm just using YouTube now. Your RPG Playin' Ass 22: Chrono Trigger Jokes
  8. I made a sporty friend recently and we're both running a 10-kilometer marathon on the 12th. She's been kicking my ass during the training. we do a 2.5-km course and when it's over I'm SOOO happy to be done and she says "I'm gonna do one more lap see you in 20 minutes." Oh, my god. Sporty people are amazing.
  9. The doctor and nurses here said not to let a child watch TV (Or any kind of digital screen) until age 2. So I basically can only play games after 9pm now. *SIGH* I need a handheld console.
  10. I'm lovin' that cover art. By the way, is Halc the artist formerly known as The Orichalcon? (May not be the correct spelling.)
  11. FFXV is going to be a more "casual" experience. http://rpgfan.com/news/2014/2026.html I was scared about what this meant at first but as I read on it started to feel OK. One button combat seems kind of overly simplifying though. A button for defensive maneuvers sounds like more fun to me. I'm still excited though!
  12. Is it how to compose the drum parts or how to use drums in Sonar that you want to know? Composing drums in Sonar is, like, EXACTLY my specialty. Mixing/mastering/producing drum parts, on the other hand, is not my specialty.
  13. Ah, OK. Good. Perhaps that was an isolated thing in a small area.
  14. Since the hardcore gaming audience that started during the NES era is in it's 30s now, I thought it would be worth our while to share what we are learning as we raise children so that we can create a generation of awesome kids that grow up to be awesome adults and save the world. YEAH! I think the most value will be created if we only post the following: 1. Parenting/childcare-related stories that you experienced yourself. 2. Parenting/childcare advice you received from PROFESSIONALS. If not a source from yourself or a professional (doctors, nurses, counsellors, etc.), then I would suggest that people mention where the information came from and why they trust it. I (to my own surprise) am very passionate about children's health and happiness. So I hope this thread thrives and becomes useful to others. OK. I'll start us off with a bunch of random tidbits that I learned from a professional counselor who has his own hospital (I think it's in Chiba) where mother's come and actually eliminate birth defects just by learning how to be the most caring mothers ever. 1. Unlike most other mammals, babies can not walk for the first year of their life. During that first year, the goal should be to give the baby everything it wants and make it feel as comfortable as if it were still inside the womb. 2. I heard from Smooth McGroove (of all people, right?) that there is a trend for mothers in America to just use powdered milk and forgo breast milk entirely. I'm not sure how wide-spread this is but I learned from the same counselor that one of the most important things a baby needs is to breast-feed. Not only for nutritional reasons but for psychological ones as well. The child will become emotionally stable when drinking milk from the mother while making eye-contact. That eye contact is also very important. 3. When a kid tells you that their having problems at school with other kids. The worst thing you can do is try to make them stronger by making them figure out a solution on their own or telling them to "deal with it." This is true all the way up through high school. If we don't help them take care of the problem, 1)the problem will continue to plague them long-term and 2)they'll feel like they can never confess their weaknesses to even their own family. The result will be emotional instability. 4. "The less time you spend taking care of your child, the more you'll have to spend taking care of them as an adult."
  15. I'll offer not my opinion, but the opinion of my wife who is an awesome lady. I bought Dragon's Crown and she thought it looked freaking cool even with all the sexual stuff. And when I told her that there are a lot of people who think this game is sexist because of the way the women are portrayed, she said, "Really? I think it would be boring if all the women looked normal."
  16. WAAAHAAHAAAA! Xavier's one is freaking hilarious! Happy B-day to the B-dawg! May you be showered with love, presents, and bodily fluids on this, the day of your birth!
  17. That trailer did it to me. I haven't really been all giddy or excited about any FF game like I am about this one. This looks friggin' awesome! I can't wait to go driving around in a car full of hot boyz. Hahaha. It's so simple, but the whole idea of drive around with your friends in a car, get out and find some dudes, get back in the car, sounds so damn fun to me! Also, the graphics are amazing, the detail is extravagant, the throw-sword-and-warp move looks super fun, and I'm really interested in how all the cooperative tactics will feel. Supposedly you just have to control Noctis and when other can assist you, they automatically do. NEWS FLASH: Just in case nobody heard, Square said they are 55% finished with the game. . . *SIGH*
  18. GODDAMN! Perhaps you should change your name to Unstoppable Hamster! I want to play it but I don't really have time to play games again until my dreams have come true.
  19. EDIT: I'm having second thoughts about how correct I am in this. There is room for debate about the translation though. He didn't. But the short of it is that the word was harshly mistranslated in his interview with Edge Magazine. Everyone else seems to be running with the "He called them pathetic!" scoop and I wanted to let you all know that it's not true.
  20. It's what Zircon said. The only reason 99% of people who want to be musicians might not make it is because they aren't all trying their hardest. "There are never any traffic jams on the extra mile." -I don't know who said that but it applies.
  21. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajMpfPYlHi4 This video that Flexstyle posted is great. Everyone should watch it!
  22. I'm kind of sad to see that there are indeed people here who had dreams and have given up on them. So there was a statistic that 1 in 100 musicians make it. I'm willing to bet that statistic is being overly kind. I think it's more like 1 in 1,000. So why not be that one? You totally can. I'm still working on being that one in the world of YouTube but I expect it's going to happen.
  23. I want to hear what you want to do with your life. Are you just doing music for fun? Are you aiming to become a game music composer professionally? Perhaps you'd like to become a professional let's-player. Whatever it is, music related or not, let's POST IT! I'll go first, although it's kind of embarrassing. I'm going to become a game oriented comedian/musician on YouTube. Kind of like JonTron but with a little Zircon mixed in there. Maybe I should change my name from Zoltan to Zirtron. I've got all the odds against me not only regarding becoming significant on YouTube but also regarding time because I have very little of it to work on videos and music between my full-time job and taking care of my daughter. But I plan on succeeding anyway. Now, what about YOU!?
