  1. sub'd a bonus. This turnout sure is depressing. Is OCR forums dying after all? Or has most everyone, minus those who've posted here abandoned the compo scene? =/ "In my restless dreams, I see that town...PRC. You promised you'd remix this tune someday. But you never did. Well, I'm alone there now. In our 'special place', Waiting for another remix..."
  2. Compo: MnP (Meat 'n Potatoes) MIDI: http://compo.thasauce.net/files/materials/MnP96_Cv4-st2.mid Youtube: Deadline: October 29th @ 1PM Vote Ends: October 31st @ 5PM (so we can enjoy final product on Howlowe'en night!) Submit your remix Here when completed. MnP ARCHIVE - made by Trism MISSION STATEMENT The goal of Compo:MnP is to promote that "meat and potatoes" conservative approach to remixing: this includes the mood and composition of source tunes. It is up to the remixer to create their own personalization, or to simply give it a sound upgrade. Moreover, the compo is a great opportunity to hone your remixing skills and give video game music the respect that is due. SOME reinterpretation is recommended, but not required. MnP Instructions/Guidelines Covers and Sound Upgrades are permitted. Most or all of the source notes must be present (but not necessarily in the exact same order), secondly the mood (energy, pacing, feelings being conveyed etc) should also be retained. For example, a source tune that is fast-paced and energetic that's remixed into a mellow/chill-out theme would be a hard sell. If you decide to do a genre swap (i.e. symphonic to techno), make sure that the conditions of #2 are met. Submissions must be at a maximum of 20mb (keeping in step with ThaSauce's file size max). Only 1 entry per participant. Previous winner cannot participate but can submit a BONUS entry. Please don't make any comments about people's entries - including your own - until the Voting process is concluded. BONUS entries are exempt of this rule. All competitors and voters must adhere to the rules stated within: Competition Code and Conduct MISC/TIPS - When picking a source tune, make sure it has a MIDI to make ppl's lives easier. - In-game sound FX are permitted, so long as they don't comprise the whole track (i.e. replacing entire MIDI tracks with just sfx)
  3. Looks like the Hobo won by default. I'll select the source for Round 96!
  4. Ain't that the rub of it. No worries man.
  5. 1 week...3 days. I will endeavor to put in a bonus before that time. I promise, or else my middle name isn't Silent Hill!!
  6. Yeah, kinda baffled me too. Looks like the whole compo scene is having a bit of a dry spell. Hopefully that'll change soon. I don't want to see PRC go under...MnP too, for that matter lol.
  7. Agreed...I hesitated to attempt the new model of PRC *in MnP* (edit) myself...partially because the new one requires more work, but also because of the other factors at play here. I would be really sad to see PRC go though =/ Yeah, that could help, Dex, regarding the source-picking applicability. Might liven things up a tad. Huh...MnP 95 has been uber dead too, in-spite of the Frankenstein treatment. Got 1 day on that one. Otherwise, I'm picking round 96 I guess lol.
  8. Hey I sawed my way in, in time... It's very sawfull. edit As for the dry-spell, it's also quite dry at MnP too.
  9. *edit* Well...I'll be leaving early morning Wednesday, in the midst of voting stage and kinda throws everything back a bit... (trip Wednesday to Sunday away from my PC), so it behooves me to extend this round at an unnaturally long length for most MnP stuff. But its been a slow round, like last one anyhow, so I see no harm in it lol. New due date Due: June 9th Monday 1PM Vote: June 11th Wednesday 11PM
  10. My bad man...It's still on my SoundCloud for those who want to hear it lol.

  12. Well that beats 0 from me. I don't have a good excuse this time, other than screwy sleep schedule and low energy for some reason. And maybe not overly inspired by the source on top of it lol. Anyways, send me a PM when you're ready for next round
  13. Esperado please pick the source-tune for round 95. I'll submit it in later. Gonna pass out soon...
  14. Made the due date 11PM today. You should be able to sub it in Esperado
  15. I've commissioned some vocalists before, for Terranigma and Soul Blazer... So I get where you're coming from Kirill4249 Also, contrary to what other people say, it's kind of a good idea to offer $$$, as it's the best way to ensure that a project comes through, unless the collaborator in question has a skewed moral compass. I don't see any harm in hosting a thread here, but an additional website is an interesting idea. Off the beaten path a bit, but I have a secondary proposition.... Allow me to preface this by sayin', there's a lot of remixers *ahem* like me who don't have a talent for scribing notation from ear to paper (or ear to MIDI data, for that matter). Additionally, I and several others have noted frustration in VGmusic's lack of MIDI data in many games, so there's at least a *small* market for that. So offering that as a secondary service may be another arm of pursuit to get the ball rollin' - anyone else have thoughts on that?
  16. hey this is cool. *correction* It conjures an image in my mind of Earthworm Jim & Crash both getting real baked and decided to start trip-hoppin' slow motion. Nice work evktalo
  17. Here is the BONUS. Shove it in there if you feel like. Kinda rushed, but it's something.
  18. I guess I'll do up a BONUS...*sigh* you'd think a popular game like this would get 1 entry. Guess bad timing on my part, sorry for killing the round Bunda lol
  19. Ehhh...thinking a bit retrospective here. I'm one vote, you had a ton of competition, besides that. I would *prefer* more conservative stuff, but I kinda like HAVING participants too. I apologize if my rules suck ass. Lol...kind of a double-edged blade on my part. But I gotta separate myself from PRC somehow *cognitive dissonance make head go boom* - It was a real tough vote and like I said your remix was pretty friggin' good Z.
  20. Nice entry too Zorrakh, I know you didn't get much love this round, but it was a killer remix, leastwise EDIT) Also, technically you made more vote points than I did because I merely benefited from that voter-bonus. If you voted you'd be at 6 points, if that's any small comfort. Lol. And big thanks to everyone who came down to MnP and participated. Reminds me of the old days when I got 5-6 entries per round on average lolz.
