well... you can say that if you want but you're still 100% wrong. sakurai himself said there will be around 30-40 combatants, likely right in the middle of those numbers. so that's probably not correct.

I know the matchups pretty well, i've been playing for two-threeish years (though i live in nh so there's not a huge amount of competition). but i know my smash, so what matchup are you worried about?
also, for shieks while they're obviously a broken breed (completely unfair for those who don't know the lingo) most shieks you play will be more offensive than they should be. very high level sheiks will not, but for anyone below that i think its safe to say that your best bet is to capitalize on that. if you play defensively, running off and pressuring with whatever long range stuff you might have, you can wait for a sheik to make a mistake and then react from there. its a bitch thing to do i know, but its worked well for me in my experience.

are you guys planning on linking the site on the front page, like with all the other ones? or is that going to get done the day of release?
-
just so you peoples know, there's an entire forum of people ready to review your matches. if you go to smashboards.com there are tons of competent players willing to critique you, i go there all the time and i've learned a bunch from conversations and videos. not that we mind doing it here of course.

Honestly? This stage to me looks like flat zone x 20 suck. who would ever be satisfied at the end of a fight on that stage? the stage decides who wins and loses.
-
hey i know that this isn't specifically on brawl, but for those who enjoyed smash bros. melee, and/or played competitively like myself, you will enjoy this. thouroughly. the song is particularly awesome.
-
btw if you find it, send me the link? i'd love to have it in digital form as opposed to just ingame.
-
If I may ask, how is the website coming along? will that be done before the 7th, seeing as usually the site has been used as a preview of sorts?

i like this, in general its really good. i like the drum part at 40: best, the rest of the drum is ok but it lacks depth imo. i like the general premise though, the echo-y lead is nice. keep at it, this will go somewhere.

wow, i like this a ton. some of that has to do with my obsession with smashbros, but its a really good track in its own right, and for trance it does what its supposed to. a little variation would be nice but its a more than decent start.

I know no one really looks in this forum seriously for remixes, but on the off chance someone talented has too much time on their hands and an open mind, there are a ton of good tracks from Paper Mario that would be awesome remixed. The toad town theme, twink's theme, and the shooting star area are the three that have specifically popped out at me from playing it again on virtual console (5th time through, hells yes) but i know there are even more. please someone hear my call, it would be awesome!

That was actually really good. Most people coming in with their first mix sound godawful but this is a very well done techno mix. My only problem was the beginning synths are a little too overpowering, but other than that it was greatness in a bottle. Good luck with submission!

i don't know if anyone's mentioned this, but maybe something it could be is he is running straight out of his jump. this would be a new technique by itself, and it does look as if he goes straight into his awkward running animation without any other real animation bumps. i remember thinking in melee that would be useful, so maybe thats it?
-
It sounds pretty good, but the sounds seem a little low quality, and the bass could use a little more presence. It feels really understated, but could help the mix a lot if fixed.

i may be the only one, and correct me if i'm wrong, but the fake sax sounds just like the ones from the dkc games. Which is sweet! I like it like that personally. within 2:20-3 ish, the sax doesn't seem like its on time with the piano, and it sounds just a little off in general. also, right at the beginning, the intro sounds i guess a bit stiff. Could just be me, but a little looser play right at the begninning could be nice. otherwise keep it up, i like it a lot!

drumultima at some point you're going to have to post up some marimbas/mallets/whatever here. between this and the chrono trigger one you deserve recognition for these.

Man I wish I was... me and my friends are the only smashers in our area and it would be so much fun to go test skills, but its not likely to happen. Unless one of us uses boozer and just punches our opponents in the faces. Then we'd win for sure. Anyhoo, good luck!

Xenon you punched that bgm in the faces. But I still think someone should do an OCRworthy mix of this, it would fit so welllllllll....

God of War II: YES
I think this is kind of a given. Most all of us have played this game and its just rediculously good at what it does; combat is heavenly, puzzles are there but not quite aggravating, it just all adds up. Yes, for sure.
Tekken: Dark Resurrection: YES
I absolutely adored Tekken 5, and if you add on a couple new features and characters, its awesome. Loading times can be a bother, seeing as its on a portable, but if you can work through that its a gem.
Warioware: Touched: NO
I bought this game and beat it in two days, and not the good kind of "zomg this is awesome play nonstop" kind of two days. Maybe 6 hours, at the most. I had an awesome time doing it, but there just wasn't enough there to keep me playing it for any amount of time, and there wasn't much to make me go back and say, "well that was a great game." Fun, but not a must play by any means.
EDIT: Looking back, there was one tie which I could not let stand.
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker: YES
This game got a lot of crap for not being grown up enough, but that's a load of bull. This was a great Zelda game, just like most of them have been, and a little bit of cel shading doesn't change the quality of gameplay.

I'm going to mirror most of what avaris said, and add that at times, the percussion felt a little off beat. Given that's the percussion's job, to keep the beat, it feels like a pretty major problem, but not likely to be one that's too hard to fix. Keep it up, I love the sound of it and it can definitely go somewhere.
-
to add on, do any of you know of any for guitar? my brother is picking it up and it'd be cool to get him some good stuff like that.
-
I was playing through SMW the other day on my gameboy advance, and this could be a good song on its own just put with high quality fx. i think this could be an awesome remix, someone should give it a go.

me gusta mucho.
for those of us who don't speak spanish, me likey lots. My one thing is it sounds very 8 bit, almost a bit too much in places. I like the idea, for sure, I just thing a little bit more of a "real" feel could help. That's just me though, it sounds great.
And by the way, whatever became of the chrono trigger marimba piece you did? I loved that.

I hate to be the obnoxious guy who asks, but completionwise how far along do you think you guys are? I'm not trying to rush at all, far from it, but curiosity compells me to ask.

for all tards who do not realize, rolling was in smash 64. and ssbm. dodging in place, which is just shield and down, is only in ssbm, and not 64. that is all.
