  1. I know the matchups pretty well, i've been playing for two-threeish years (though i live in nh so there's not a huge amount of competition). but i know my smash, so what matchup are you worried about?

also, for shieks while they're obviously a broken breed (completely unfair for those who don't know the lingo) most shieks you play will be more offensive than they should be. very high level sheiks will not, but for anyone below that i think its safe to say that your best bet is to capitalize on that. if you play defensively, running off and pressuring with whatever long range stuff you might have, you can wait for a sheik to make a mistake and then react from there. its a bitch thing to do i know, but its worked well for me in my experience.

  2. just so you peoples know, there's an entire forum of people ready to review your matches. if you go to smashboards.com there are tons of competent players willing to critique you, i go there all the time and i've learned a bunch from conversations and videos. not that we mind doing it here of course.

  3. I know no one really looks in this forum seriously for remixes, but on the off chance someone talented has too much time on their hands and an open mind, there are a ton of good tracks from Paper Mario that would be awesome remixed. The toad town theme, twink's theme, and the shooting star area are the three that have specifically popped out at me from playing it again on virtual console (5th time through, hells yes) but i know there are even more. please someone hear my call, it would be awesome!

  4. i don't know if anyone's mentioned this, but maybe something it could be is he is running straight out of his jump. this would be a new technique by itself, and it does look as if he goes straight into his awkward running animation without any other real animation bumps. i remember thinking in melee that would be useful, so maybe thats it?

  5. i may be the only one, and correct me if i'm wrong, but the fake sax sounds just like the ones from the dkc games. Which is sweet! I like it like that personally. within 2:20-3 ish, the sax doesn't seem like its on time with the piano, and it sounds just a little off in general. also, right at the beginning, the intro sounds i guess a bit stiff. Could just be me, but a little looser play right at the begninning could be nice. otherwise keep it up, i like it a lot!

  6. Man I wish I was... me and my friends are the only smashers in our area and it would be so much fun to go test skills, but its not likely to happen. Unless one of us uses boozer and just punches our opponents in the faces. Then we'd win for sure. Anyhoo, good luck!

  7. God of War II: YES

I think this is kind of a given. Most all of us have played this game and its just rediculously good at what it does; combat is heavenly, puzzles are there but not quite aggravating, it just all adds up. Yes, for sure.

    Tekken: Dark Resurrection: YES

I absolutely adored Tekken 5, and if you add on a couple new features and characters, its awesome. Loading times can be a bother, seeing as its on a portable, but if you can work through that its a gem.

    Warioware: Touched: NO

I bought this game and beat it in two days, and not the good kind of "zomg this is awesome play nonstop" kind of two days. Maybe 6 hours, at the most. I had an awesome time doing it, but there just wasn't enough there to keep me playing it for any amount of time, and there wasn't much to make me go back and say, "well that was a great game." Fun, but not a must play by any means.

EDIT: Looking back, there was one tie which I could not let stand.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker: YES

This game got a lot of crap for not being grown up enough, but that's a load of bull. This was a great Zelda game, just like most of them have been, and a little bit of cel shading doesn't change the quality of gameplay.

  8. I'm going to mirror most of what avaris said, and add that at times, the percussion felt a little off beat. Given that's the percussion's job, to keep the beat, it feels like a pretty major problem, but not likely to be one that's too hard to fix. Keep it up, I love the sound of it and it can definitely go somewhere.
