  1. Between spring break practices and smash i haven't posted on here in forever... i'd love to find a partner to smash with, i've been working on making ivysaur useful to some success, but generally my best is metaknight. loving this game so much.

  2. Despite the fact that they were initially prone to breaking, the N64 analog stick was the best and most responsive ever. I'll agree that for a lot of games it wouldn't matter that much if you used a newer controller, but if the Turok games were ever released for the virtual console, I'd never play them on it simply because of the lack of the N64 stick. Turok 2 proved that control stick to be the next best thing to a mouse, and usually I'd say control sticks don't compare at all.

ehh the analog stick wasn't bad, but its not the best either, newer ones are just as good and feel smoother imo. and the rest of the controller setup was silly. control pad and l button were completely unused by 97.32% of the games for the system.

  3. What's complicated about videogame control is the people who refuse to learn new things. Case in point: one of my aquaintances (can't really call him a friend) at college was watching me play wii, and told me "nah, i don't want to, the controller's too different. I'm so used to n64." n64, despite its greatness, has the worst controller ever. and the wii couldn't possibly get simpler.

GET LESS RETARDED PEOPLE. Taking the two seconds to reorient yourself is a lot easier and less obnoxious than "omgwtfbbqlulz this cuntroler sux, too difrent i givup!"

    It bothers me.

  4. Attention people that plan on playing this competitively *aka peeps like jam stunna, gt though he doesnt plan on going to many tournaments, me , etc* :

I am going to be making a video down the road of our gameplay footage showing how awesome we are. In each person's "section" of the video, I am going to need a "theme song". It needs to fit both you and your playing style, like how I am giving K05 *earthbound shop remix* to atma because he is goofy.

Currently the songs that are taken are K05, J04, I01, I03, G09, and A05 *lol reverse alpha order*.

This is only going to work if you guys send me awesome vids of you guys doing crazy shit, so record your matches that you find are awesome and send em my way!

Don't plan on this being made anytime soon. We all have a lot to learn before any of us are really considered "good", but once we reach it, diz vid will be awsum.

Haha ocr combo vid! Love it, I hope to be a part of this once I learn the game as best I can, I was a melee journeyman and hopefully I can pull up into a legit player this go round.

  5. He ain't strictly dnb but Orange Dust has made a lot of damned good tracks.

I've looked around online and it seems like archive.org is the only place left that has any of his music, and it isn't much of the total.

Hit me up on aim if you can catch me on, if you want to hear some of it. name is mobilisq

I will have to try and do that! I'll see if I can get ahold of you.

Dj Fresh - The Pink Panther.

Check it out, seriously, it's WILD.

Have and totally. Love the jazz flute breakdown, like the idea on paper's retarded but sounds so silky smooth.

  6. Have you heard Dieselboy's Dungeon Master's Guide album, pretty much the only thing I listen to now when I play a shooter or something fastpaced. Plus it has Optimus Prime talking through out it X3

Dungeonmaster's Guide is too good. I personally like the Human Resource even better though, I'm a rower at college and its gotten me through just about every 6k and 2k i've pulled so far. Just keeps you going.

  7. No one has mentioned LTJ Bukem yet. I'm very disapointed. Other artists I'd recommend are Baron and Concord Dawn (Morning Light is a great song).

Also, if you want some change, try Brazilian DnB. The Sambass collections are great, especially the second one and the second CD of the third one.

Ah yes LTJ Bukem.. the tracks to look out for are Demon's Theme, Music and Horizons

Never have I ever heard of this guy... looked him up on youtube, its really solid so far, a lot more relaxed than the rest. Its good stuff!

Since I'm getting all the suggestions here, I'll give one back. 1990s by L.A.O.S. is a rediculous track, kinda reminds me of Danny Byrd's Medical History album. Also, Song for Lovers by Bachelors of Science is great too, lots of strings, great groove to it. Got 'em both off of trackitdown, even though its rediculously expensive those two were worth it.

  8. Another vote for Penedulum. All of "Hold Your Colour" as well as "Granite"!

QFE, I couldn't agree more. One of my favorite tracks from that album was Plasticworld, which doesn't get much attention. Love it though, Granite was a doorbuster no doubt.

Back to topic... if you lot like Drum n Bass, have you heard of Dubstep? Its a musical genre straight out the UK, (like a lot of things lol) which is kinda like an off-shoot of Drum n Bass. While its not as mainstream as DnB, it is beginnign to show signs of popularity as its being played more frequently across clubs here in the UK. A way to describe it is that its much slower paced but has still got elements of DnB's traditional hard hitting bass and pulsating synths. Oh and it does accompany rapping in some cases. An example of dubstep can come from the track Suspicious Thoughts by Skream (do check his material out too) on the recent Wipeout Pulse soundtrack on the PSP. Guess this is slightly off topic as well then.. ah well...

I have heard of this, and I've got mixed opinions really. There are a couple tracks that are absolute gold but generally its still a little too meh for me. I like chaos in my music but most dubstep seems a little TOO grimy really. I like my Grime and DnB seperate.

EDIT: You guys are great, I've got a file filling up with these suggestions. JustChris, I checked out offkeymp3.com and its excellent thus far. Keep em coming!

  9. Good drum n bass tracks hmm? Look for any track by Dillinja, Pendulum, Shy FX and DJ Fresh!

Tracks you should download (like right nowww):

Dillinja- Tudor Rose Not quite check

    DJ Fresh- Nervous Check

Pendulum- Another Planet (album version from 'Hold Your Colour') Check

Where can I find tudor rose? found a youtube sample of it, and i like it so far, but being at college I have to do things pseudo-legit.

  10. I'm all over the older Hospital albums, most of which I've enjoyed a ton. Go back too far, like Ultrasound and the like, and it starts getting boring though.

Also, anyone got anything along the lines of Black Sun Empire? I loved their CD cruel and unusual so anything like that would be sweet too.

  11. I just re-entered the world of drum and bass the other day by chance, and have since realized that I am severely out of date. Does anyone have any suggestions of some good drum and bass tracks to download? My old favorites were Hospital Records fare and the Dieselboy mixes.

  12. Hey there! Didn't pick up the 1st wip, but i'm going through the second one now, see what I can find.

First off, overall I really dig the feel of it. Sounds professional, as a trance song I think it's great. Some personal opinion for refinement though.

For starters, most of the long buildups could use shortening. From :29 to :58 could easily be half as long and keep the same purpose. Its too long and can easily be cut down to keep the piece moving faster. Another thing that is too long is the drum roll starting at 1:59. Sure its a fine effect, but it doesn't really need to start that early, and would make for a more exciting crescendo if it started at 2:12ish. I mean it lasts almost a full 30 seconds; no drum roll buildup need last that long.

Two more things. When you add in the gated synth in the second half of the piece, I feel like it would be a much greater impact if it were more full and prominent. It doesn't have quite the presence it potentially could, it could do a lot if eq'd right. Last thing is not SUCH a big deal, but personally I think you could take a little bit more creative liberty with the bassline. I know its supposed to be constant quarters, that's all well and good, but it can do more than "unts unts unts" its way to the end. Sticking in a little more variation here and there can go a long way in adding dynamics to a piece.

Anyhow, despite the long post it is a very good song, I'm just wordy. I hope you fix it up so I see it frontpaged one day!

EDIT: Tried to go back and listen to it today, both links are broken! Boo :(
