  1. very cool mix. kind of reminds me of a trip to the beach kind of simple, but very groovy and everything works well together. good job!
  2. The track definitely has its own unique sound to it, I wasn't too crazy about the high-pitched synth around 0:15 but it was certainly a memorable track. good job!
  3. kind of subtle, feels like a background track that establishes mood during an action or infiltration sequence in a game. unfortunately I don't think it stands out in any particular sense. the voice bit and the synths thereafter are a nice touch, would have been nice to see those implemented througout the entire track. good job overall! ps, 50th post ftw!
  4. it starts out strong and maintains that pace, but that may be the problem. Maybe switch it up a little more, or introduce more and build up as you go along. good job though!
  5. everything in this mix works very well together! great choice of synths, and the touch at the very end was unexpected. would have loved to see you use that sound at the end a little more, extend it and explore a little more with that instrument. definitely left me wanting more!
  6. I lol'd when I heard "thank you for pressing the self-destruct button!" Normally I don't like the arbitrary sci-fi quotes in such music, but the ones you picked for this mix are different in a good way. Kind of drags for the last minute or so, up until "9000 GIGS OF RAM!!!!!" (WHAT, 9000!?!). Good job!
  7. good concept, but I do feel like you could have built upon it a little bit and made it into something even better. feels kind of like a funky background beat that's missing the vocals. it definitely improves towards the end! good job overall
  8. I too had the labelling confusion, but once I found it I really liked it. some of the industrial stuff I've listened to sounds kind of boring, but this mix takes that industrial theme and applies it to a funky song. you really pulled off both. good job.
  9. good mix! I like the synths you used, I feel like they work well together.
  10. I honestly had no idea what to expect when I started listening, but it was really fun, upbeat, toe-tapping goodness. The keyboard sounds especially nice! Good job.
  11. Wow, everything in this mix sounds fantastic! I love the effects you used, especially right at the end. It begins and ends really nicely, and the middle is an atmospheric, sharp trip. Good job!
  12. It had its good points, I just feel like it lacks the driving force behind the original. Overall I thought it was a good effort but I just don't get the same feeling I get from the original.
  13. very fun times! I like this mix a lot, reminds me of when it snows on campus and everyone sleds down the hills on stolen diner trays
  14. very fun mix. everything fit together very nicely, and I was tapping my toes along the entire time!
  15. I really like it up to the guitar, but unfortunately I agree and I think the guitar should probably be replaced. Really emotional and moving stuff up to that point tho!
  16. Hey all, looking for suggestions on fun games that may not necessarily be good games. Example: Conan for the 360 is a hack-n-slash game that's really fun to play, but there are a number of factors keeping it from being a "good" game (linear stages, not much of a story, graphical bugs, etc.). However, the game developers seemed to have realized they were making a second-tier game and decided to go for over-the-top action instead of worrying about polishing every detail, and in the end it made a game that was really a blast to play. So any other games like that come to mind? I'd prefer something more recent so that I might track it down, but anything would be good. I also realize the fun factor of a game is fairly subjective, so I don't blame you if you hated Conan
  17. am working on it! don't have much to say technically, but I will try to give a constructive opinion.
  18. very nice medley, takes you on a little journey through the enemy's stronghold. Not to crazy about some of the synths used in the first part, but I still liked it a lot.
  19. I like how the mix just starts abruptly and builds as the drums, guitar, etc. are introduced. The guitar break around 1:15 or so is very nice as well. Also like the whispering in the background towards the end. Very nice work!
  20. very fun to listen to. enjoyed it a lot, especially around 3:30 and the percussion effects at the end.
  21. I liked what was going on in the mix, but the popping noise throughout bugged me a bit. Not sure if it was meant to sound like a record player, but for some reason it felt like my ears were popping throughout the entire song. Seen others on OCR use a louder record-like popping sound at the intro and have it fade away as the song progresses, but this one has a softer sound that persists throughout. Not sure what its meant to establish, but was interesting.
  22. I like the sound effects in the background, really help to establish the nature theme which is so important in the game. The theme carries into the mix, which is serene and cool, if brief.
  23. I enjoyed the mix, has a space-like feel to it, and I was admittedly bopping my head throughout.
  24. Muted at parts, which makes it sound kind of like music from a survival horror game. However, it takes off at parts, especially the awesome guitar bit at the end. Very good stuff!
  25. enjoyed it very much. maintained that feeling of adventure you get on the first stage of a game.
