  1. Actually here... it's already done. You may want to have someone look it over, but it's a start. http://www.animelyrics.com/game/finalfantasyx/sutekidane.htm
  2. Gimme the link and I'll see if I can translate it.
  3. Awesomeness personified, if that makes any sense. Anyway, so now we see Diddy, Fox and DK will join up, but how did Fox crash in the first place? And how did DK's jungle get overrun? The game designers seriously are organizing this like they're on something bad, but still the game looks like enormous fun... now if we get more characters tomorrow, and maybe some more levels and an earlier release schedule. Nice update.
  4. You can do Fast mode, with 300%, whether fast is the same as lightning was in melee, or if they keep the option in though, is up in the air. http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/gamemode/various/various04.html
  5. It was confirmed about the same time the Stage Editor was... As well as an Earthbound/Mother related stage. Well the music was confirmed for both, so we can just hope for an awesome DKC 2 themed level (or DKC anything), due to Diddy's inclusion.
  6. OK, coolz. Thanks for the response.
  7. Yeah, it's on the blog... oh well, hopefully there's a few (or several) good surprises as far a new characters.
  8. We know basically the full movesets for the 14 characters at E for All. However, I didn't see F.L.U.D.D. used, and Sakurai did allude to there being more moves / character this time around, so they could've disabled the *extra* moves. But with all the control diagrams, etc. on the blog that seems less and less likely. But I wouldn't rule out some additional functionality in the moveset, just maybe not enough to allow Wolf Like w/o an additional character. BTW did anyone see videos or play Mario to see when he uses the F.L.U.D.D. moves? I didn't see a single one.
  9. Bonus, That's what I meant. I just read the Virtua Fighter 5 review for 360. I'm pretty sure people don't think of SSBB as traditional, so I wasn't trying to compare something uber-realistic to the type of game Smash is. Although there could be some folks who see it as traditional after nearly 10 years of being out..
  10. I think the college scene will help do some viral marketing this time around. Just like they did for Halo, I know there's lot of college students who love Melee, and with the huge hype the game has already, and the competitive nature of the game, it should be the must-have figher of next year, if not the must-have traditional fighter. And yes, it will sell TONS!
  11. Add this friends, tourneys (hopefully it's compatible), and the games popularity, and you have insane possibiliities. I am so not mad for them delaying now... if it helps get Ness in, I'll give them 3 more weeks.
  12. Sakurai is a master if he pulls this off... OMG I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS!!!! I'm going to have to put in some serious Melee practice when school is out.... now if they just have a way to get it permanent, that would be remarkable, but I'm sure we can get some blog online somewhere on how to design the levels. The MP3 idea is nice, but with all the game music they have and the excellent composers, that's not on my list of concerned things. Now we can just hope it makes February. I guess Galaxy, Metroid, and Fire Emblem will be the flavor of the season for me, with Brawl up for next year. Oh and some multiplayer game... Wii is too much fun with multiplayer. Oh, Mother Snowman music confirmed! Um... is that from 1 2 or 3. If it's from 2 (Earthbound), it's probably from the boarding school. Anyone play 1 and/or 3 have any clue?
  13. Dedede looks awesome. It seems interesting how so many up Smashes are directly up, there doesn't seem to be many diagonal up smashes beside Ivysaur. I wonder how this will play out, with so many high jump moves (Dedede, samus, ike, and who knows who else).
  14. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I"M TALKING ABOUT! Ok, so if we get Ganon back, that'll be 3 boss characters with Dedede in now... this is so sweet. I'm sorta glad I'm up at nearly 3 AM here. I think I'll abstain from Smash blog for a while. I want some surprises when I get the game... although I'm not sure if I can avoid all game news until Feb. Hmmm.... this sucks in a good way.
  15. I agree. The whole point of competitive gaming is a little anarchronistic to me... we play games for fun. If you want to bet, or whatever, that's your business, but basing how a game should be MADE so that a small number of gamers can have a more efficient fighting system flies in the face of the purpose of gaming. Playing against friends, or strangers is obviously fun, but honestly, random elements that can turn a game in favor or against are fairly spread, if you play long enough. The idea of turning off items, just so you can see who's better may be great in theory, but I like the insanity of smash bros to the more subdued, usual caste of fighting games. Why mess with what brought us to the series in the first place... there's always Tekken for purists, or even Street Fighter, if you want to go old school. Some games, like a lot of RPGs I've played, are made for the accomplishment of finishing a compelling and difficult objective. Others are fun simply because they are meant to be fun. Smash Bros is the kind of speculative "What if" type of game that goes into the latter category. Even the Smash blog is irreverent, so I say, put in anything and everything in the game; if you don't like it turn it off, but the idea of excluding things because it 'might' screw up the game is ludicrous to me.
  16. I'm still holding out for some additional enemy characters... we don't even have Ganondorf back yet. I'd be a little pissed if it was just Bowser and a slew of good guys. K.Rool would rock, especially if he had his blunderbuss with it's lightning, fire and ice shots. Or just a bunch of goons to hide behind as a shield. He could have some of the giant clubbas from DK 64 come in and klobber you as a Final Smash. And yes I did say 'klobber'.
  17. This is why the next time I leave California, I am going to make sure to visit all the wonderful expos and fests we get. Oh well, I'll be back in 2 months. I'm going to AnimeExpo for sure this time. Play Lucas and Snake... I don't think we've heard that much about how Snake plays, just his moves. And perhaps there is a Ness costume for Lucas. Then again, you probably won't read this, so have fun!
  18. I got SMB3 back in '89 for Christmas, along with an NES, King's Quest, and SMB2. As long as I've been playing video games, it's surprising I'm not a designer by now Anywayz, I played Mario 3 first, because it was the hot title that year. Then Mario 2, which I had wanted but couldn't convince my parents in time for my short attention span to contain. It was probably only 4 or 5 months, but that was certainly long enough for my desire for an old game (SMB 2) to wane for the new "Now you're playing with Power!" advertisements, with their then-amazing graphics. So long story short, SMB3 is my fave all-time. I did get s Super Nintendo a few years later, basically just for Super Mario World, but the lack of a zillion powerups, not so many areas to fly, and some annoyingly difficult areas, with levels that went from nearly impossible to astonishingly easy (the forest after the two hills, especially getting to the special star zone.... evil, so evil), Choco Mountain, and of course the secret exit out of the Valley of Bowser. For some reason the Valley of Bowser always has made me think of Death Valley... especially after seeing its SMB3 iteration. Anyway the uber-secret levels were on an Apple Jacks box, and that made me give the game a jack up in difficulty. Tubulur, Awesome! Extreme, Outrageous... those levels were totally insane. My hands are cramping just thinking of their 2D goodness. So my catch is, although SMW had better controls, it was contrasted with more erratic difficulty (SMB3 generally went from easy to hard, to harder, to WHY ARE THE CANNONZ STILL KILLING ME! ARGH!!!), with a couple of levels in worlds 5, 6, and 7 out of order. But aside from that, I loved both games, but my heart sings to SMB3, if your heart can sing to a game... while SMW is remembered more as when I finally began to get some skill as a gamer. So 1. SMB3 2.SMW 3.SMB2 4.SMB 5. Donkey Kong 6. Mario Bros 7. Yoshi's Island 1 8. Mario 2: Lost Levels (Japan version) 9. Super Mario 64 (didn't own it ) 10. Super Mario Land (ditto) I'm hoping Galaxy shoots up to the top. If it has challenge, great power ups, and lastability, which I seriously hope it does, it will repersonify Mario to me. I haven't really bought a Mario game for years because I thought Mario 64 was non-linear, and one of my favorite things about Mario is it's directed linearity. But I'm much more excited about Galaxy than any game since 64, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
  19. Were it not for class, I'd have Metroid by now. :/ Anyway, with Smash out of the picture for Winter, I'll have to satisfy myself with Metroid Prime 3, Mario Galaxy, Fire Emblem, and likely some kind of party game. I have to admit it, Shigeru is right when he says everyone can enjoy these 'non-games'. Add a few friends or family and you have a whole evening of fun.
  20. The Zero Laser actually seems pretty ineffective compared to other Final Smashes, but it did take out Mario with an extremely low percentage, and Sakurai did say that some attacks are best from up close, such as the Mario Finale. We can hope he ups the damage %. ZSS seems to be more powerful than people were speculating before the video, but it remains to be seen if she's as powerful as in the previous two games.
  21. About the pics, is turning into Super Mario 1 Mario some powerup, or just fan-service or something? Anyway, it's still awesome.
  22. A-FREAKING-MAZING!!!!!!!!!!! I need to stop reading gaming mags so much... people are saying things like "Nintendo can't keep up production". One look at this, and I can say this will be my first Mario purchase in a LONG time. It's finally nice seeing Nintendo put itself in order again. Now make more Wiis and software copies!
  23. I remember reading on Smashboards about a Halo vs. Smash sales comparison, with people thinking Halo 3 would outsell Smash 3. Halo has sold a ton lately, and I was pretty disposed to the Halo side, even after reading that the prior two iterations had Smash sell more copies. I think that, regardless of the reason, Smash is going to sell more now. Snake and Sonic... I think a lot of older gamers and hardcore gamers will pick it up just to see if Sonic can beat the crap out of Mario. Isn't that what we always argued about during the Genesis/SNES era? If they add Dr. Robotnik in, we can see which evil boss is better too. This is too sweet!
  24. These last two days have been beyond amazing. Sonic is in! This is a complete dream come true! They can delay it 3 months now and I won't care; I'll just play Mario Galaxy, Metriod and whatever else I can handle between classes and work. I don't even care about Ness being likely removed now. This is amazing!!!!! Sakurai needs to be moved up a notch in the echelon of game designers. If this works out, I'll have him up there with sakaguchi-san and a few of my other fave producers.
