Ascendancy

i first heard this mix back in 03 and I am still listening to it now, the guitar is spot on, a very nice way to start out a track, the flute is incredible sounds so real(is it real?), the arrangement is hardcore. my only problem with this track is the drums could use a little more power. great production (aside from the drums) good arrangement very nostalgic =] 9.5 out of 10 great stuff man

okay this is just simply amazing.....no words can describe how well this piece was put together the production and arrangement is just incredible. this mix is just epic, the piano with the compliment of the viola fitted so well for this mix. The transition to schala's theme was just flawless, very well done. 9.5/10

this is incredibly well arranged, i love the drums being used and the hymns just give it that tribal feel if you get what i'm saying, i think my only problem with this piece is the flute but then again it does fit into the concept. i guess its just me, maybe i'm just not feeling the flute that much maybe some chinese string instruments would've worked better. but that aside great mix 9.5/10 =]

wow, i first heard this back in 03 or 04, and i have to say i still enjoy it, but i'm probably being bias cause of nostalgia and the fact that its from ff7, this is pretty good quality for somthing made back in 02. also good arrangement, very enjoyable 9 out of 10

good choice of instruments, production is pretty good for its time, i really like your interpretation on this and i would never expect schala's theme to work so well with wutai's theme, overall i would give this 8.5/10 goddd i miss these kinds of mixes...

oh i'm loving this, especially your interpretation on it, very unique, definetely has that nice atmosphere to it, reminds me of the oldschool ocremixs the repetitiveness isn't a problem at all, in fact the repetitiveness contributes to the overall hazy or concept you were going for. this is a must have! great job Gratz on your first debut, i hope to see more from you in the future

you could try incorporating small parts of schala's theme into your mix it seems to fit in my opinion, the piano(was it a piano?) at the end was pretty nice maybe you could use more of that. it's a pretty hard track to tackle, but so far your interpretation is really good, it has that nice cold winter atmosphere like tweek's mix http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR01663/ maybe that might give you some ideas hope i helped, i would like to see a finsihed version so keep up the work

shadow madness, there weren't many tracks that i could find on youtube since shadow madness isn't widely known, however its one of the most underated games of all time cause of its graphics however it did provide a dark atmosphere which the soundtracks blended in so well that you could say the music fit perfectly into the game's theme.... edit: god even the battle themes were epic and dark or shallow embeded doesn't work for second video, so you'll have to click on the video and get directed to the actual site on youtube to listen to it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2A34ZeXM4s

i'm no expert at giving feeds about music, but I can say that you definitely have an interesting interpretation of the corridors theme out of all the remixes i heard on the site. however you might need some more variations in some parts of your mix cause it tends to stick a bit too close to the source like a little reverb at 1:45 since it sounds rather empty (i personally like the mood but if you plan on submitting it your going to have to have more variations since it gets a little repetitive but that just might be me) the production could be increased a bit more, but its not really a problem as of now. overall i like the mellow feel of your mix, its pretty good, I would like to see a finished result =] edit: oh one more thing about the beginning i feel like maybe you could use like bells or maybe like a xylophone for the background theme and have it vary more cause its just the same thing repeating over and over throughtout the track

the game was awesome and very innovating. The soundtrack to me sounded like some futuristic view of hip hop which sounded great while playing, however when i listened to the song by itself on my comp i was like O_O what is this....lol i guess the music only sounded good while i was playing of course that is my opinion and the singing could use some work....lol but all in all i would like to see a remix of the main theme...if i could find a sample of it on youtube i'll post it here =].

I thought that too until I read some reviews about it saying that the 250s have too much bass in it but then again it could be a personal thing which is why i want to know if the bass difference is that big... I don't want headphones with too much bass

I'm thinking about buying new headphones and I don't really know much about headphones or sound quality so I did a little research and concluded that I would buy Sennheiser eH150 or eH250 since it seems to fit my liking and budget(lol). I just wanted to hear more personal opinions about these headphones and any advise like pros or cons to both these headphones.

Amazing... didn't really notice the theme till around :17. But I like how you started out with the percussions in a some what tribal feel xD. Then you got into that middle age atmosphere especially with the strings and the flute or is it a piccolo (not sure lol). Kind of reminded me of Shadow Madness. If it was up to me i think i would have added like a viola but only for a small part and more violins =].... or maybe a different variation of percussions like a Vibraphone to match the feel of the flute like instrument. for example you if were to replay :14 - :28 again later on in your mix, you could use a vibraphone(or a different type of bell instrument to replace the flute) for that part somewhere around the middle of the song or the end. but thats just me xD. edit: or maybe a piano to play the string part around the middle or end. =] Overall this is a really great piece...keep working on it. I'd like to see your progress and end result's. Oh and I liked your other piece as well the Manoria Cathedral. =]
