For rhythm stuff, 1-2. Leads, usually anywhere from 3-10. Same with vocal takes.

Fun is just a buzzword that people use when they can't come up with arguments for why a game is good. It's actually also subjective, so I could totally see people enjoying Brawl more because of stuff like smash balls.
This. Smash balls were one of my favorite parts of that game, actually. The way they dramatically changed the tone of the match was awesome, really made for some fun times playing with my friends.
Man, I'm gonna have to bust that game out again.

Ecco: Songs of Time, by Spencer Nilsen.

Happy birfday x3!

Funny you should mention the whole DusK/chiptune thing, considering I make chiptune/metalcore fusion original music.
But yeah, I'd be down for this. I may not be that experienced, but I still think I could "star" it up. It would really give me a chance to look at other genres with a more critical eye... or ear. Could be fun.

If you ask me, things didn't improve for Sonic until less than 3 years ago. Sonic Generations is one of 2011's best games. Sonic's GCN games, for the most part, were no good. I don't recall Sonic Heroes ever getting good reviews.
Sonic Adventure DX and SA2 Battle were pretty good. Sonic Advance games were okay too. Rush started pushing a little downward, but still enjoyable.
Let's pretend that Sonic Heroes, Sonic 2k6, and the werewolf stages of Unleashed never existed. Ever. EVER.
-
Sonic, however, had no business being on the roster.
Sonic frequented Nintendo consoles since the GCN days.

my main problem with brawl is the abysmal single player mode
Same. There were a few fun instances, but it was all just boring for the most part.
The game still shines when you and a few buddies just brawl, though. Amazing fun to be had.

Seems that he's just leading the development team at Namco-Bandai, along with Higuchi. Sakurai's still overseeing the entire project. He's the head honcho. The big cheese. The main man.
And my bad, it wasn't Reggie. It was Nate Bihldorff.

Around the 7-minute mark.
Anyway, I'm pumped.

Masahiro Sakurai isn't director :c
Yes he is. Reggie confirms it in the Nintendo Direct video.

I'm really hoping someone more familiar with production in your genre can come in here to give you some crits, because I got nothin'. I love this track, and would love to see it hit the front page.
-
I'll have to remember that.

Ouch, dat compression during the AGatV track at the beginning.
Ah well, it's just a preview. This is all shaping up to be awesomeness.
-
Then all is forgiven.

Shit, I thought I only left out one song, not two... MAH BAD.
Yeah, Tuberz's track is kinda sick. DON'T DO THAT AGAIN OR YOU'RE FIRED.

HOW ON EARTH DO YOU GET SUCH THICK TONE
Lots and lots of tweaking and obsessing over POD Farm. Keep at it, and everything will sound as you want it to eventually.
Back on topic, let the sharing campaign for the album preview begin!

You have offended DusK.
You shan't live to see the dawn.

But I need that sunlight to smite him.

And I call myself a guitarist. Line in.
What a joke.
That's how I do!

Love ya, Gario, but I've gotta go with... er, actually it's your birthday, so Gario it is.

She, uh, helped me with a question recently.

Yaaaaaaay birthdays!

Ok put me down for 'Rolling Chaser' for old time's sake!
Sweeeeet! Done.
I also should probably take this moment to remind everyone that the direction we're taking this album is extremely aggressive and high energy, with a futuristic aesthetic to the music. Try to keep that in mind when working on your remixes, especially the stage themes and bosses. We're alright with slowing it down a bit for sources that aren't stages or bosses, but if you're mixing something that's got some pump to it, try to put some pump in your mix as well.
-
Try sending it to another channel with compression cranked in addition to wherever you normally route your snare to, and set that other channel's volume to taste; lower will give it more "meat" and sustain, and lower will make the sound more "poppy" at the beginning.
ReMixing With The Stars

Oh, I wouldn't either. I doubt many OC ReMixers would. But really, the name's just to distinguish between people who have been doing this and are good enough at it to be posted, and those who aren't at that level yet. The goal is to help them get there, with some competition sprinkled in, I think.
