  1. 1. People have a lot of different reasons for subbing and sharing music on OCR. That's kind of a big question imo, and there really is no short answer to it.

    2. Because I enjoy making music, remixing VGM being a part of that, and OCR is a community that (at least according to the mission statement) revolves around the "appreciation and promotion of video game music as an art form" through interpretive arrangements of video game music. It's the chance to be heard and be a part of something larger than myself that shares the same respect and love for VGM and chooses to tribute it in that way.

  2. Second page, noooooo!

Well, it's been just over a week and no responses, so time for a bump. I have done a couple tweaks, but it's practically nothing, so I won't post such a minor update. I'm feeling a lot better about this one than Insulator and I'm ready to call it. Hoping to get this in by the end of the month so it'll end up on the judge's panel by 2015.

Now to wait for a Mod to come in and tell me that I need to do a crapton of work on it before submitting it.

    Lay it on me!

  3. I have a Razer Naga ( http://store.razerzone.com/store/razerusa/en_US/pd/productID.169418900/categoryId.54536600 ) and while it may be overpriced I don't know any other mouse that has 17 buttons :D After a day or two, you have most of the buttons assigned to functions in your browser, OS or of course in your DAW and don't want to miss them anymore.

Rockin' that mouse too. It may be marketed as an MMO mouse, but I stepped up my FPS game considerably with it. *highfive*

It's also pretty accurate provided you're not using a dark surface.

  4. I'd honestly recommend Musician's Friend over any online music store tbh. They're pretty much amazing.

Either of those guitars would be good picks, but I personally recommend the Omen 6. 24 frets compared to the Solo-6's 22, and the body would be a bit easier on a beginning guitarist imo.

  5. *Put a lot more practice into my lead guitar work

*Learn a lot more about music theory

*Learn a lot more about music production

*Learn to play keys significantly better than I do now

*Get more mixes past the Judges Panel, shooting for at least two this year

    *Participate in more remix compos

*Lose some major weight and stop being a chubby chubberson

    *Get back to college

*Save up enough money to make 2013 as awesome as it could be

  6. Schecter with the Omen 6 (300$)

Excellent recommendation right here. Schecter builds guitars on par with axes that cost 3x as much. They're built like tanks and have great tone. Slap some better pickups into an Omen 6 and you'll have yourself something you may never want to replace.

I'm also gonna echo the same thing with Squier stuff. I got good tone out of my Squier bass, but it didn't hold up very well at all. My girlfriend's Squier Strat also saw very little play and I can see some signs of wear. They're just not that well-built.

  7. Oh I totally heard it. That section starting at 2:22 seems a bit over-the-top. I did some EQ work to give that lead guitar bit more breathing room, which allowed me to turn the volume down on that.

Version 5. Also marks my move to SoundCloud for all my WIP uses for various reasons. Mainly the clock and the private links.

I also brought in the kick's clarity a little bit and brought the bass up. I dunno if that's enough to really bring it out though, and I might end up layering another bass track over it with a different tone.

I'm starting to think this might be ready for some Mod Review action soon, but I'll let it stew for, oh, a week or so like usual before I bump it up.
