Well, unfortunately (but not unlikely) no entries this time around.
As much fun as it's been running the competition for ~2 years now, I'm looking to get out of the business. If any one is still interested in there being a FAC and would like to take on the duties of running it, please let me know (I'll pass along the password to the photobucket album I've been using).

well now that we are here, I'm sure the influx of participants and entries will be overwhelming.
That said, I currently have no submissions whatsoever right now, and it is Sunday! That day I said was the last day to submit entries! Bated breath, etc etc
So, if you are planning on submitting, please let me know. If enough people convince me they can submit something if the deadline is extended, it will most likely be extended.

Theme: Survival Horror
Welcome to the July 2011 edition of the Fan Art Competition (FAC)!
As last month's winner of the competition, DJ Mighty gets to choose the theme!
"So for this months theme I decided on Survival Horror, but not just limited to a survival horror game, but any game and make it a survival horror theme. Ex: Kirby in Raccoon City??"

The Fan Art Competition is a monthly event where artists create some form of art based on a certain theme.
What is the theme?
The theme is decided by the winner of the previous months competition (most of the time) and must be video game related.
Who can submit art?
Anyone.
What are my restrictions?
You are allowed to submit one entry, but other than that there are no restrictions. There are no size, quality, image size restrictions.
Who decides the winner?
The OCR community. Anyone who wants to vote, can vote.
How does voting work?
You vote for your three favorite entries, from first to third. These entries are given points based on the order in which you voted for them in. For example,
1st. friendlyHunter
2nd. DJ Mighty
3rd. bonzai
In this case, friendlyHunter would get 3 points, DJ Mighty would get 2, and bonzai would get 1.
When and how do we see the results?
After the voting period is over, I'll announce the winner and show the tallied scores for all entries.
If I enter the contest can I vote?
Yes, and voting for yourself is allowed if you really want to.
Rules and Regulations!
1) Any art submitted must be based off of the months theme.
2) No nudity.
3) Your entry must be created within the month. It cannot have been something you've created in the past or partially finished prior to the announcement of the theme.
4) All entries must be 100% your work. Simply altering something created by someone else may be cool, but is not allowed as an entry.

Welcome to the May 2011 edition of the Fan Art Competition (FAC)!
As the winner of last month's competition, Wolt gets to choose the theme!
"Well, I'm not very good at ideas, but how about a Game Console theme? As in, Fan Art of the consoles in any form. Could be videogame characters playing them, could be original characters playing them, could be abstract art or personifications. Could be your favorite console, or one that you always wanted, or just one that looks cool."

So unfortunately, we had no entries this month. I'm going to think of a theme for April and get the new thread up, and hopefully we'll get a bit more participation this time around.

soooooo, I'm going to extend the deadline until next week Sunday. I didn't receive any entries, but maybe given another week we could stir up a few. If not, I guess I'll be making up a theme for April's competition.
The new deadline to submit entries is now SUNDAY APRIL 3RD.
Anyone who sends me an April Fool's entry that is a link to Rick Astley will receive a permanent ban from the competition. AM I KIDDING???
