  1. if you use compressors on some of your tracks thats good, if on all of your tracks thats bad, if none of them thats bad if you not getting the sound you want then thats bad

Perhaps you're doin' it wrong? I mean, compressors are good for limiting. Limiting is a pretty neat way of getting decent loudness without clipping. Compressors =/= Mmmtss Mmmtss.

Heck, trad jazz is better with compressors.

  2. :o :OOOOOO

Oh my god man, beautiful. Bloody excellent use of chords; the sus4 near the beginning was inspired. I am in love with those chords. What was that replacement for the minor 4? It was SO GOOD!

In complete contrast to your wonderful arrangement and playing, the quality was terrible. Nowhere near loud enough either.

You know, you could always hit me up with a MIDI or something and we could get it sub'able. ;D

  3. I'm wondering, what about THIS source (
    )?

Probably the most minimal source ever, and since I'm sorta interested in avant-garde music like some of John Cage's stuff ( 4'33" comes to mind, as well as a bunch of others, definitely not that one though ), I'm wondering...would it work if done well?

It's been bugging me lately and I'm trying to figure out how it could work.

FEAR NO LONGER I HAVE PRODUCED WHAT YOU WANTED.

This is, like, the soundtrack to my, like, January 2011. Honestly. I'd make out to this if I were you and think of me.

    This is good advice.

  4. I noticed at the beginning one of the notes didn't overlap right. You said be gentle, so I didn't listen to the rest of the song.

C'mon now, play nice, let's not get our pretty little knickers in a twist.

Yeah, I emulate what Gario is saying pretty much, intro synth is sick man.

Overall, pretty good. You planning on subbing this once the compression 'n' stuffs is fix'd'd?

Hrmm gotta say though, not loving those sort of out of time arps at around 3:07.

  5. Music from games you haven't played rarely beat the ones you have memories from. At least that's my experience.

I've never played Ducktales and the Moon theme is arguably my favourite chiptune piece ever.

I guess you get added nostalgia from games you've played, but nostalgia is a dangerous thing.

  6. you're way overthinking this, no one gives a damn about what you're doing with those chiptunes unless you're making money out of them directly.

Definitely. And in the case that some fanatic company decides they dislike it, the worst that's going to happen is an order to remove them.
