  1. Beautiful mix! I love the "flavor" of guitar used in this piece. The piano also added a lot of emotional flow to contrast the upbeat slammin' side of the track - I love tracks that can go to two extremes of a sound spectrum without assassinating the song in the process. Well done. My only complaint would have to be the static fuzz transition at 3:44 to 3:47. It gave me shivers up my spine a little the first time I heard it, and it still rings as a little brittle to my ears. Could just be me, and it's only a small 3 seconds of the entire track anyways, nothin' big.
  2. I was digging the song when it sped up the several times it did. I felt that the introduction was drawn out too long with the same beat and could have had some variation to make it go down easier before the climax portions. Other than that, the beat was still pretty awesome. I just have a natural bias against introductions that last for 40+ seconds without getting anywhere unless the song is really long.
  3. An absolutely beautiful mix. This mix is the true representation of a perfect closure. Definitely the best credit roll theme on OCR to date, and my personal #1 favorite. Keep those Fruity Loops a poppin!
  4. I really like this mix. I haven't played Banjo Kazooie in ages, but this song really took me back to those good (and bad) times. Being a drummer and all, I think it was the funky drum beat that caught my attention the most.
  5. Could you guys at least show a little respect in your posts? The only reason why you're requesting for remixes is because you can't do it yourself, and you're calling these guys lowlifes? You're pretty funny. Not to mention this post was formatted incorrectly. Read the sticky.
  6. Hello again OCR peeps. I know I'm asking a lot but I recently noticed that there's a lot of Secret of Mana and Seiken Densetsu 3, but Legend of Mana ain't getting any screen time. I searched it up a little and noticed a few ReMixes got turned down, so I guess some people are working on it. But, I'd like to make some ReQuests anyways. Legend of Mana - Song of Mana (complete) Details: The ending song to Legend of Mana, featuring a sexy beat and Swedish vocals. ReMix Genre: Epic. That's the only way I can describe it. The effect I'm imagining is similar to Audix and Tweek's "Day's End" ReMix of the Mario Kart 64 Credit Roll (I am not asking Audix and/or Tweek specifically to do this song, so please don't misunderstand). Original Song Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32l9bCpBX7c&fmt=18 Legend of Mana - The Wind Sings of a Journey Details: It's been too long since I've played this game to remember ReMix Genre: Rock/Metal. Original Song Link: Legend of Mana - Pain the Universe Details: Aha! But I do remember this one. This is one of the many boss battle theme songs in LoM. ReMix Genre: Rock. Hard. Core. Rock. Just slam it out, but without making ears bleed, please . To make it more original (since the original mix is pretty much rock already), there could be some incorporated techno, but not that generic, overused techno everyone knows. Original Song Link: Legend of Mana - World of Mana Details: The theme for the artifact selection prior to world entry. That makes 3 for 4! ReMix Genre: This would do wonderfully for an orchestrated remix. Slam some classical into it and maintain a beat without breaks. (My complaint about the original mix is that it has too much silence.) Original Song Link: Once again, thanks OCR for hearing out my ReQuests! I'm not expecting anything, so surprise me, or not! I actually have a question before I conclude this post. Is there a comprehensive list anywhere on these forums that states what ReMixers are currently working on so that I can know what to and not to request? Whether the answer is yes or no, could I ask someone to PM me the answer? Thanks again! Duo
  7. I've got quite a few requests that I would really love seeing remixed. The list is, I guess, larger than a normal person's request, but I don't expect all of them to be recognized, if any at all for that matter. Let me begin. Super Mario Galaxy - Purple Comet Details: The theme song played during all of the time limited Purple Coin Missions in Super Mario Galaxy. Remix Genre: I would love to hear this song with a Techno/Orchestrated or a Rock/Orchestrated hybrid style. The original song concentrates highly on orchestration only, but I feel that adding some techno or rock to it would really snaz things up. Remix Style Preference: Purple Comet features a nice build up before the climax of the song. I would like to keep that build up style, but without making it too long. I'm quite sure that remixing requires a certain amount of originality added onto the original track, but please try to keep the main beat of the song intact and powerful. EDIT: I changed the link for this track. I noticed that the original one I posted cut out most of the intro and had some mario snoring in it (game rip). Original Track Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=reO5AHNAEx8&fmt=18 Super Mario Galaxy - Good Egg Galaxy Details: The theme song played when playing in Good Egg Galaxy. This is also the theme song used when Mario rescues Peach at the end of the game. Remix Genre: Like the Purple Comet song, I'd like to hear a combination of Techno/Orchestrated or Rock/Orchestrated. Remix Style Preference: The main thing I'm looking for in a remix for this song would be to maintain the power of the song. There is a section in the song that has a very powerful emotional impact that's caused mostly by the deep cello, and I don't want that power to vanish. Original Track Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29Mdel1f33o&fmt=18 Super Mario Galaxy - Gusty Garden Galaxy Details: The theme song for the Gusty Garden Galaxy stage. This is also probably the most popular of SMG songs. Remix Genre: One word - freestyle. I personally think this song sounds like crap with a pure techno remix (I've heard a few), and I think throwing rock into this particular song doesn't suit it whatsoever. The best way I could describe the genre would be Alternative I guess. Throw anything and everything into it to make it original and awesome. Remix Style Preferences: A common attribute of all SMG songs is that they all hold a very immense power in their tunes. No matter what you (the ReMixer) does, do not lose the emotional power that all SMG songs carry. Original Track Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1ZapSpACAk&fmt=18 Super Mario Galaxy - Rosalina's Comet Observatory Details: The theme song for Rosalina's Comet Observatory, aka your home turf in Super Mario Galaxy. Remix Genre: Dance. Gotta be dance without a doubt. The original track already has the potential for being "danceable" music, but the instruments create more of a calm feel. Changing the style to dance would make this one. Epic. Song. Remix Style Preferences: The track changes throughout the game depending on the number of stars you have collected - it has three stages to be exact. The remix should keep that structure of transformation. Original Track Link: Version 1 - Version 2 - Version 3 - Mario Kart Wii - Rainbow Road Details: The Rainbow Road theme for Mario Kart Wii (not the other Mario Karts). Remix Genre: I have a difficult time ascribing this song to a genre. So instead, I'll just say that I'd love to hear it recreated to have a more mysterious, beautiful, emotional feel. I guess you could say that the best instruments for this would be piano, some orchestra, and perhaps some trance to give it spicing. To say it real general, "just make it better." Remix Style Preference: Maintain the happy feel of the song. Also keep that feeling of "finally, this is the last track ever, LET'S ROCK THIS MOTHA TRUCKA!" Original Track Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRbm_v9DHpI&fmt=18 Thanks for hearing out my ReQuests OCR! I hope my ReQuests hold enough information for a ReMixer to get a general idea of what I'm after. Final note: If ReMixers require the actual MP3s for these songs, they can be found here - Super Mario Galaxy OST - http://www.videogamescrapbook.com/super_mario_galaxy Mario Kart Wii OST - http://www.videogamescrapbook.com/mario_kart_wii
  8. Hey everyone. I'm Duokun (I would prefer the alias Duo, but it's taken or too short). My real name is Alex(ander) Ku. I've been lurking OCR ever since I knew what video games were (so I obviously haven't been around for that long). OCR really helps me relive the awesome memories I've had with all the video games that I've played and have been remixed here. It's absolutely beautiful how good all the remixers are (props guys!) I recently picked up FL studio and plan on learning it over summer 2009, and I hope to pick up some OCR worthy skills in remixing about a year or two afterwards. There are so many songs out there I want to see remixed that are probably in the process right now, but I would just love to see them done (this ain't the thread to be asking for 'em though). If I were to live off of only two things I've learned so far, those two things would be "Want something? Well then go get it yourself!" and "Losing is the first step to winning." Hopefully that will be able to apply to my rise to the status of "OCR Remixer" one day. But until then, peace! P.S. djpretzel, those vocals you did for that Lunar song were AMAZING.
