  1. Remixer Name: DJ SBX Real Name: Fernando Chorney E-mail Address: djsbx@hotmail.com Website: http://members.shaw.ca/djsbx Userid: My account is inactive so I dont know it at the moment. Name of game Remixed: Dance Dance Revolution Extreme 8th Mix Name of individual song Remixed: Sync Additional info about the game: This game is made by konami. It is the 8th game in the series of Dance Dance Revolution games. Link to the original Soundtrack: I dont have one. Comments: Well, I wanted to recreate sync the way I saw it. I wanted to give it that little extra umph that I think it needed, so I decided to throw in some breakbeat along with my own take on epic trance to end up with what I did. The thing that really got me to remix it was after I had listened to it after a long period of time that I hadn't heard it. Its just one of those songs that I truely enjoyed, and I wanted to do it justice in a remix. Basically I took what was so great about the original, and fused my own ideas in to it, and this is what came out.
  2. LT NOTE: The artist messaged me saying he fixed some clipping in the original version of the mix. Download the current link in order to evaluate the proper version. It should be 4:00-long (as opposed to the old one which was 3:59-long). Do not use a copy from the judge-FTP. Remixer Name: tweek Real Name: Brian Arnold Email: bmarnold@uga.edu Game: Halo Songs Remixed: Covenant Dance and Main Theme (both found at www.vgmusic.com). This song has been a long time in coming. Started it about 2 years ago. A very straight forward mix with elements from the two songs meshed together to create one. I wanted to create a tribal rock mix that captured the tone of the OST but also took it in a different direction. After posting this a year ago, there was an overwhelming opinion that suggested some electric guitar work. The people were right, and so the guitar was added. It was performed by a friend of mine (not a member of the site) and was recorded by me. Special thanks to David, my guitarist.
  3. ReMixer name: Blake Perdue Real name: Blake Perdue e-mail address: Blizihizake@gmail.com Website: :[ UserID: 8644 ReMix Info: Game ReMixed: Star Ocean: The Second Story Individual song: KA.MI.KA.ZE Link: http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/sony/ps1/so2_kamikaze.mid Hello, this is Blake. This is a remix submission of Star Ocean: The Second Story's "KA.MI.KA.ZE.", apparently some dungeon song. I started this remix because of some PRC competition, whose topic was the song KA.MIZ.KA.ZE. Unfortunately I never met the deadline, and here I am three or four months later finally finishing it up. =D I tried to stick to KAMIKAZE and ONLY KAMIKAZE, to try and get rid of the medleyitis. The first half of this song was made on a whim during the day of the PRC competition. I tweaked it and tweaked it, but never added any length. Until yesterday, I hadn't done anything. Fortunately, I had been playing much Oblivion, and have finally come to fully appreciate Jeremy Soule's work. He's a freakin genius! I absolutely love the whole Oblivion soundtrack. I mention this because I have had the Oblivion soundtrack in mind while making the second half. But hopefully it doesn't show enough in a bad way to disgrace his stuff. So thanks, Jeremy Soule, for inspiring me to finish this ReMix. It certainly felt like the last remix I got accepted here was a major let down, and as one put it in the Chrono Symphonic thread: "Here's a tip, guys: Orchestral remixes can have power, too. They don't HAVE to be boring as hell." He may not have been directly referring to my Door to the End of Time, but if he was he was certainly correct. So I've tried to make improvements upon my technique if you wanna call it that, and make sure my fake orchestral is worth listening to. Hopefully people will not say "Ugh, ANOTHER orchestral remix." to this one, but if they listen to it and it is just another one, well, I am always trying to improve anyway. I've forever disgraced my free sample using ways by using an EDIROL clarinet sample, because the squidfont one or any other free one online is just way too damn honky, and provides no flexiblity or textural relevance. (Is textural a word?) However, the rest of the samples in this ReMix are free and mostly of the florestan and squidfont department. Hopefully this gets accepted. There is clipping, however if I compressed or changed any of the instruments' EQ's, it would ruin any other sections, and would eliminate any sense of dynamics. Link to the ReMix:
  4. I've just recently gotten a new synthisizer keyboard. I am just getting the hang of it. Right off the bat though you may notice an improvement in sample quality from my previous mixes. Granted this may not be the most complicated arrangement but it is soothing and I think it has alot of variation. It is an mixture of the special stage song and green hill zone from Sonic 1. Not sure if this is up to par with the standards of OCR but I do hope that at the very least you find it to be an enjoyable listen. I hope useing soundclick to host my mixes is alright. It's realy too bad about VG mix...well...anyway enjoy . Jredd-
  5. Hey folks, sorry if you're getting this twice, I didn't get a confirmation email the first time. I've been a listener to OCR for a few years now and decided to finally give remixing a try using Reason. For my first ever submission, I offer an early and obscure NES title, "T&C Surf Designs," one of the first skateboarding and surfing games out there. Perhaps you remember this game, launched in conjunction with the popular tee shirts and skate apparel from the 80s. Players could be "Thrilla Gorilla" or "Joe Cool," hitting the waves and the asphalt while being attacked by birds and bouncing beach balls. Just like the game, this mix has two sections, and also like the game, the song has its obligitory bails and wipeouts. I added a few game sound effects and other surprises to top things off. Hope you like it! My remix can be downloaded at: The original NES .NSF tune file can be listened to here: Thanks for your consideration! -Josh Contact Info: ReMixer name: J-Witz Real name: Josh Horowitz Website: www.j-witz.com UserID: 34914 ReMix Info: Name of game: Town & Country Surf Designs: Wood & Water Rage Additional Info: NES title by LJN Toys LTD, unknown music composer. 6. Hi, this is my first attempt (ever) at remixing a game's song. and i'm not very musically inclined at all, i've no formal training in notes or any of that stuff, so this was an accomplishment on my own regardless of whether or not you guys like this I know Zelda 3 is a popularily remixed game, and that this particular song (the darkworld outside theme) has been remixed at least three times... but i like it, and i thought i'd give it a shot. I'm not sure if the ID tags are proper, but i got most of it (i think) I'm not entirely satisfied with it, but i haven't the time to 'finish' this one off and so i'll submit it and be done with it. if anyone wants, i can give them the source files (Reason 3.0) i used to make this remix and they can do something with it. Anyways, if you do accept it I'd like the OC Remixer name to be BlueSlug, and my email address is It can be accessed at (i would like if my email address and this link were not posted on the public forums or anywhere else widely accessible ) Cheers! _BlueSlug
  7. Whoa, half a year since my last sub. Think it's time to let this one go. I was actually gonna re-record this thing since I'm not entirely satisfied with my performance, but I've decided I'm too lazy for it now. So here it is, flaws and all. My motivation behind arranging "Dalaam" was to bring out the beautiful melody that was partially hidden by the harsh drones in the original track, while still retaining an Eastern feel. The result, I'm told, sounds a lot like a song from Disney's Pocahantas...I've never seen the movie though, so reports of any sort of influence are greatly exaggerated. But I suppose there are only so many things you can do with a pentatonic, so I guess it was bound (lolz) to sound like something else. This track is dedicated to Joe Cammisa, for all the time and hard work he spent organizing the Bound Together project, drama and all. Rendering and mastering generously provided by Mustin. <3 Link - Dhsu
  8. Remix Ultima Online: Renaissance</a> Original Link: Argitoth Elan Hickler argitoth@gmail.com www.argitoth.com Remix Link: Ultima Online: Renaissance Original Link: Tavern04.mid Comments: I quote The Orichalcon Judge "In the arrangement sense, I have no issues with what we have here. It's similar in style to the original, but upgrading from the basic nsf sound to the bouncy string guitar sound we have here is not simply a matter of note-for-note. There are a lot of holes to fill. To learn those holes and then execute it as well as it has been here, I think deserves a spot on the site." from this thread.
  9. Hello Ocremix! I've come back again to attempt at another remix. I sent in my Mario Kart 64 one which got rejected and will now come back with something even better. I know it has some technical problems, but I'm not so great at that sort of thing, so I tried my best. It's a remix of the Undersea Palace theme from Chrono Trigger, and I called it The Rising Palace! Hope this makes it in! -MSL

  14. Yes, another American Album track. I daresay it's about time for another American Album track to grace the front page of Overclocked Remix, wouldn't you agree? Hereby I submit what may be my 2nd favorite track on the album - an industrial medley of sorts from the classic PC game, "The 7th Guest." And in a totally wacky time signature too! Originally I wasn't going to go industrial with this... but it just sounded so good! I kept with the original 7th Guest flavor though (piano, congas, muted trumpet, etc). I do have plenty of new music, but it all seems to be embedded in other remix projects or movies these days. In the meantime, enjoy a taste of Fat Man remixage. Mazedude

I think this is a decent tribute to back then, and I hope maybe a few others can hear this song for the first time and be inspired as well.

From my last submission, Liontamer felt that it needed more background and foundation to make the arrangement less empty. Vig agreed that it felt empty and needed to be beefed up. I created a few new instruments to play echoy chords and melodic tones in the background to accomplish that. Although, he also thought that the "Cowabunga" sample was somewhat tacky at :15, I believe that the song would seem to be missing something if I had taken it out. The other judges didn't mention anything about it, so it's tough to make a decision on that (personally, I sort of like it there; it adds an organic element). I really adjusted the balancing as well as edited the levels (especially towards the end) so that it would not get too crunchy. I hope some of the new instruments make the resubmission seem more groundbreaking and show that I have taken more freedom from the original source. GrayLightning suggested that I add some harmonies to the piece. I think that the new instruments provide a good harmonization as well as expanding on the melody. I toned the drums down a bit so that they wouldn't overpower the entire song as well. Below, I've linked the original submission, and the resubmission. Also, the first judges decision is linked. 18. Email sub file Beoulve_-_Zelda 2_Temple Gates.mp3 Hello! I have been composing music in my spare time for a couple of years, and I have always made game style music. Yesterday I decided to make a remix of one of my favourite game songs of all time, the temple theme from Zelda 2. I think it turned out OK, so I decided to try submitting it to OC ReMix. I have been a follower of the site for many years, so it was about time that I posted something as well. Unfortunatly I have no other choice than to attach the song to this email, I am sorry about that. F4T4L requested for this song to be mixed..i guess he asked other people a long time ago as well, just for it to never happen. So last year he gave me the nsf and said OMFG LISTEN TO TRACK 4!!!!...so i did...and then said i would mix it, which in turn, made him so excited that he pissed himself. So yeaaah... now that the song is finally done, I just want to thank F4T4L for the awesome source tune and everyone else for the more than positive feedback in both #ocremix and the wip boards. yep, thats about it i think, hope you all enjoy it cya -Sadorf
  20. Submission 3: Let me know if there is a problem with the links. Song Title: Battle of the Hylian Hero Artist: Random Hero Game: Zelda 2: The Adventures of Link Source Music: Palace Theme. (Main Map Theme and the Intro theme were also used sparingly) Other Inspiration: “Battle of the Heroes” by John Williams from “Star Wars: Episode 3” Composition Period: Sept. 05 to Dec. 23, 05 Email: cc971751@hotmail.com This song took forever, going through several revisions and style changes. I even gave up on it for a period of about a month. It took hearing John Williams’ “Battle of the Heroes” to get the creative juices flowing again. (The inspired parts are only minor though, a bit at the beginning and end). I’m happy with the result. Hope you guys enjoy. Ryan

  22. email sub file Felicia Storm - Magical Sound Shower [GJ Edition] 160.mp3 My little brother and I had a competition a year or so ago where the both of us were to remix 'Magical Sound Shower' and let a friend of ours be the judge. Needless to say, I won ;P I have been meaning to send this song to OC Remix for a whole long time, but never gotten to it for one reason or the other. I am a new artist to OC-Remix, remixer-name "Zelest". I think I got all the ID3v2 Tags right, however I am a better musician than ID3-fiddler, so I might have done something wrong. I got no website, however this ( zelest@gmail.com) mail will do. The name for the song 'Magical Sound Shower [GJ Edition]' is kind of an internal joke between me and friends which I will not elaborate on here as the mail would get a bit too long then I am a bit sad to have to disobay the Submission guidelines, as I got no external server anywhere to upload my song, so I will attatch it to this mail.
