  1. emila sub file André Marigo - FF6 - Awakening.mp3 Contact Info Arkaydon André Marigo arkaydon@hotmail.com http://www.flogao.com.br/cowboysdoinferno I don't know my Userid on the forums... ReMix Info Final Fantasy VI Awakening Composer: Nobuo Uematsu, system: SNES http://www.altpop.com/stc/reviews/ff6osv.htm I've always loved Nobuo's music, I'm a fanatic, but I'm also a eletric guitar player and I have always wanted to hear Nobuo's music with a good heavy metal guitar, so I made some little changes in the music and It is most guitar solo, but with some adds. That's it I hope you all like it!
  2. *I'm a new remixer (to OCR): mixer name: Jormungand Game: Secret of Mana Original track: The Dark Star This was originally submitted over at vgmix with a different piano sample used. Since then I've recorded with a higher quality sample, and had to consequently change lots of individual dynamics. This was an attempt to blend the style of Masashi Hamauzu's rich piano voice with Hiroki Kikuta's imaginative composition. As both are among my favorite composers, I tried to retain the spirit of both.

I've been composing original soundtracks for games and films for a few years now and I felt it was nice to hark back at older pieces like this and turn them into something fun, sounding like it might if it were redone now a days.

Your own comments about the mix, for example the inspiration behind it, how it was made, etc.: Hilo. This remix was made for Chrono Symphonic but my computer crashed around a week before the deadline and I didn't get to recover my data until after the deadline (sounds fun huh?). It sucks because I spent a lot of time on it and it never made it onto the album but oh well. I'm submitting it to OCR wondering how it stands by itself. It's supposed to go on the Chrono Symphonic Special Edition, but I don't know what happened to that... It's been almost two months and I haven't heard from Compy; I think he died or something (just kidding ). Oh well, hope you guys like it and um if it doesn't get accepted I plan on doing something a lot more coolerer anyway. I really wanna get on OCR someday before I quit remixing video game music haha. Enjoy.... or something. Here's an Angelfire Link that isn't very dependable. Right Click and Save As? X_x

  8. This is Corran from vgmix, and I've got my third try for OCR. Hope you enjoy... Contact Info: Remixer name: Corran real name: Bryan Garris email: bjgarris@valdosta.edu my user ID: 595 Remix Info: Game: Final Fantasy VI Name of song remixed: The Phantom Forest This is a remastered version of "Haunted Woods" that was on vgmix.com a few months ago. I did this arrangement for a midterm project in a Computers in Music class. I was trying for a pseudo-20th century style, but it turned out fairly tonal. But it's definitely a very ambient piece...I think it's a bit different from your normal remix. It was originally written for flute and tape, but I just went ahead and recorded the flute part directly into the mix. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it and I look forward to seeing the result... 9. Hey djp and panel, I tried submitting this once but 3 days have gone by with no confirmation e-mail, so I'm resubmitting! Rellik here with my first OCR submission in a long time. All my personal info is the same as previously recorded - except for the fact that I no longer have a website and my e-mail address is now Rellyk@gmail.com (I hope I'm not overstepping the scope of this submission e-mail by asking that these elements of my profile be changed). Mix: Mirror and Transparent Game: Zelda 2 Source: The overworld theme Composer: tagged it with Akito Nakatsuka (getting this from OCR) This mix was actually created under the parameters of the Fruity Loops Music Contest (FLMC) run by chthonic. This means that NOTHING that does not come with FL was used in the production of this mix (aside from computer hardware, MIDI input [which I didn't actually have a use for in this mix], and audio output). I don't think the FLMC is even over yet, but production went VERY smoothly, so I'm submitting this now! Elements of the mix were inspired by Mazedude and Earthbound. Anyway, I think it turned out very well! I don't know if it will get as much of a cult following as my previous submission did (if it gets on the site), but I personally like this one alot. Looking forward to the decision and the comments! -Rellik
  10. Your ReMixer name: Koiu Lpoi Your real name: Drew Morrison Your email address: koiulpoi@gmail.com Your website: http://koiulpoi.dmusic.com Name of game(s) ReMixed: Final Fantasy 7 Name of individual song(s) ReMixed: Anxious Heart This mix is of a song in Final Fantasy 7 which I always thought needed to be so much more than it was. Playstation music just doesn't let a tune shine through to its full potential. This mix takes the song from slow piano, to sixties/seventies hard ballad guitar, to heavy metal, and to full out shredding and techno beats. This actually started when I was simply messing around with a MIDI of the very song, and I put a guitar instead of a harp on one of the parts, and it all went from there.
  11. Sup .. finshed another song for my mm2 project .. it's called Wily And The Deep Forest it has woodman, wily and end theme in it .. 6mb cap right ? enjoy.
  12. IMPORTANT PLEASE READ BEFORE INSTANT REJECTING!! Okay.. I think it's necessary that I give an explanation of this song. The idea is this... an NES and a Sega Genesis meet in appallachia and start a musical duel. At first they compete, but then they decide to work together. At 2:00... the synngergy is so great that the two FUSE to become something new.... basically the same NES and FM sounds but now featuring effects processing [this was especially helpful with the noise/PCM] So that's the story. The title and intro melody is a reference to "Dueling Banjos" from deliverance.. since it's the same scenario except, instead of the product of inbreeding and a city slicker jamming, it's two different soundchips. I've learned a lot about writing NES chiptunes since "Figaro Chiptune" but it's stuff that most people probably wont care about. SOOOO it's all made from chiptune sounds but it's not purely chiptune, since it does things that neither chip would have been capable of.... hopefully that'll make enough of a difference for this to be passable. The song being remixed is Danger! from secret of mana.. great song with lots of themes rolled into one short two minute piece [Kikuta rocks.. not as familiar with him as I should be, B1itz Lunar has inspired me to check him out more]. Roetaka pointed out that the theme entering at 3:33 sounds like a quote from FF7 battle theme. Totally unintentional but true none-the-less, guess that's what happens when you listen to too much Uematsu. I promise to write more straight up remixes in the future... ones in NO WAY involving chiptunes. I just really wanted to try this idea of two chips battling then mutating into an uber-chip so to speak. OKAY OKYA OKAY OKAY OKAY! Hope you enjoy it.

  15. Yo, got a track from Punch-Out!! I call "I'm Gon' Eat Cho Kids!" Starts out as a pretty straight-forward cover, but the whole song is a build with a sweet climax of original material. I recorded this in protools with sequenced drums. sock it to ya -dj Fezik

I tried to make the song seem more relaxed with a clean guitar part and a slowed tempo, I even added a little solo in there. I started on this remix almost two years ago, but finished it in one evening just recently. Such long pause between of course ment practically complete remixing of the sounds and fixing the arragement to fit my standards I have nowdays for my music. Even though I have lots of hardware synthesizers in my studio today, the only one I used for this remix is my beloved Juno-106, which took the honor of playing the bassline. Most used software synths are Pro-53 and WaspXT. Arragement done in Orion Platinum. The arragement is partly based on midi patterns I made for the first Hyperspace remix already posted here on OCR. // Jouni -- Jouni Airaksinen // www.markvera.net www.spacesynth.net the place where spacesynth scene meets!

  22. Alias: xaNax Name: Jonas Hellberg Age: 23 Email: xanax@rls.se Homepage: http://medlem.spray.se/xanaxmusic Remix: Hi. I have made a Techno/Dance remix of the Rush'n Attack stage 1 theme, for NES. I was going for a eurotechno, trance song with a happy sound. It's a simple dance song that turned out pretty well. I have friends who have been giving me feedback during the making, it have been real helpfull, and a fun task to deal with. When I first came up with the idea, I listend to all sort of old euro techno, and trance remixes. I used to listen to euro techno when I was younger, it was the "thing" in the 90's here in sweden. I have allways thought that those songs have good and happy melodies, and I realy like the theme from Rush'n Attack, so why not combine them both. There is'nt many Rush'n Attack remixes on the site aswell. I made this song in reason 3, the no:1 program I use when I make music. The lead melody is played by a Sawtooth, I wanted it to sound like the trance tracks. I have a regular beat with a low bass drum playing hand to hand with the bass. I know the bass track is kind of boring, but thats how it usually sounds, and it works pretty good with the overal mix. I allso use some japanese plucks and chimes that plays with melody, I call this the happy touch. Allso playing is a piano that plays the other lead melody at first. I allso use the piano in the break for a more relaxed touch. I have been trying to give the song some variation with a break, some drumwork, melody's etc. Overal I'm pretty darn happy how well the sound in the mix works. I would say this is my best mix up to date. And I hope you guys will enjoy it, and hopefully bring a smile
