email sub file Space_Harrier_II_Illusions_of_Grandeur.mp3 Hi guys! I've always been a huge fan of classic Sega games and their music, especially anything by Tokuhiko "Bo" Uwabo. I thought it would be cool to work with a tune from Space Harrier II, as that game is somewhat under-represented on OCR with only one mix, so I chose the music from the game's finale called "Illusion". My version is entitled "Illusions of Grandeur" and can be found here: I tried to keep the feel of the original tune intact for the first part of the song, and then branch out a bit into new territory in the second. I hope you like it Here are my particulars... email sub file Ys_The_Ark_of_Napishtim_A_False_Respite_OC_ReMix.mp3 ReMixer name: Paragon Real name: James Spairana Email address: jparagons@gmail.com Website: http://paragon.good-evil.net This is a remix of "Quatera Woods" from Ys: The Ark of Napishtim for the PS2 (and/or the PC, I believe). It's a vaguely orchestral rock version with live guitars and bass, piano played live on a Yamaha s08, and a good helping of sequenced drums/flutes/violins/some other stuff. The piano solo shares a lot of ideas with the guitar solo, mainly because I was rushing to finish this in time for the January 2006 Dwelling of Duels, and the guitar solo was fresh in my mind as I wrote the piano solo. I liked the result enough to not even try changing the piano solo. Just over 4 minutes long, although according to winamp it's 5:39. . .probably because of Cool Edit Pro's odd VBR encoding thingy. The title "A False Respite" chosen because Quatera Woods is a very peaceful, happy island paradise-type place (the first enemy you meet is this cute little squirrel/fox thing that attacks by playfully hopping at you), but the protagonist is stranded there and it's only the beginning of his adventure. dun dun DUN!!!

Hola! * *The Donut Dance* o * *Contact Info* o o o o squidbear * *ReMix Info* o Super Mario Kart o Donut Plains o I have always enjoyed listening to the music from the Mario Kart series up until Mario Kart: Double Dash!! When Mario Kart DS came out, I just loved playing the classic tracks so I could hear the "old school" music from the SNES and the N64. One course, in particular, had music that just entranced me, so I downloaded some MIDIs of the track, Donut Plains, online. I kept listening and listening to it until it was stuck in my head. I knew everything I hated about it and everything I loved about it. Well, now, I knew I had to do /something/. So I was set to the task of enhancing it, remixing it, getting rid of what I thought were the worst parts, and giving it a new look. After much trial and error, I finished the daunting task of remixing one of my favorite songs. I am very pleased with the results, especially since this is the first video game remix I have ever completed. To whoever reads this, I sincerely hope you enjoy my remix, The Donut Dance.

LT Edit - Original Decision: http://www.ocremix.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=36189 Hi everyone who will end up reading this, This is a re-submission of my miserable failure I submitted two years ago. It's a remix of FF6's Decisive Battle for piano and drums. I've been very hesitant to resubmit this one because I'm afraid I'll just make it worse by revising it any further. At the very least, I promise the production quality is enormously better than the overly reverb'd, poorly eq'd, and dynamic disaster I submitted last time. When it didn't get in last time I was shocked and devastated (I imagine I felt like William Hung, as I can't imagine why you'd have accepted it as I listen to it now), so I ran out and bought a book on mixing and I've taken a few classes since. I was pretty surprised when Little Painter Girl got in, so I figure at this point even though I'm doubting myself, it might be good enough. It definitely has a few issues here and there, and there's always been about a 50/50 argument over whether or not the drums should stay in it in the WIP forums, but I opted to keep them in since I like them. It feels overly quantized in some areas, and the dissonance may bother some people (but this is something I love), but aside from all of that stuff I think it's in pretty good shape. I tried my best to keep the energy of the original while adding some new parts to it (I stole the opening from a soundtrack I worked on, for example, and a short phrase from an anime that I'm pretty sure one judge on the panel will be able to pick out). I've spent a lot of time with this, on and off, so I hope it's at a point now where it's good enough for the site. When I submitted Little Painter Girl I'd assured my self it wouldn't be accepted so I didn't write anything about it, which I feel bad about now because that probably didn't make writing about it very easy. I don't know what you're going to think of this, but I figure I should write about it in case things go well. I don't really have a whole lot to say, but it was always my favorite song from FF6 (or any game, really). My uncle gave me a copy of Finale when I was really young and I printed out a midi file of it. I was a terrible piano student, and didn't last long (I've never been any good at reading music), so my piano teacher told me to bring in something I wanted to play. I brought in the print out of the decisive battle and she just got really annoyed with me because I'd printed out ten different parts. I didn't really understand how MIDI worked back then. I learned how to play the entire melody on my own, because my teacher refused to teach me, and when I stumbled upon OCR a few years ago I decided that I had to give it a shot. While the people on the WIP boards keep telling me this is my style, it's really not, but it was a lot of fun anyway. For me, it's not really the soundtrack to a battle anymore, but just a lot of energy being thrown around in many different directions. I always play this in my tiny apartment when I want to move around and can't. There's no real way to dance or move to it, but when I want to let out a lot of energy and just make a complete fool of myself, this track is my best friend. Anyway, that should make up for the lack of text last time. Thanks for listening and I hope you find this version to be a significant improvement. The file is available here: Thanks! - Adam

artist: majeliss game remixed: Final Fantasy 7 Merry meet ^__^ This is one of those faithful psytrance pieces trying to incorporate a good melody structure into the genre because it's a remix... The original material seems to be hidden in the style very well it seems (judging from other feedback) though, i will argue that the source is very there and pretty obvious- if you know the source well i suppose. If you're familiar with the genre, you should agree that the structure was intentional and rather difficult to give Psytrance a solid melody. I just hope the style entertains enough in the eyes of the OCR judges! (I tried imitating Infected Mushroom on this one-save for the structure and a few samples...). Blessed be!

email sub file Final Fantasy VIII Hopeless Drifting OC ReMix.mp3 Remixer Name- Eleminoh P. Real Name- Ronnie Whitacre E-mail Addresses- eleminoh_p@yahoo.com; frogthroat_06@yahoo.com Game Remixed- Final Fantasy VIII Song Remixed- Drifting I'm 18 and i'm still in high school so i've had no real composition training. I did this remix because i loved Final Fantasy VIII's soundtrack and it usually gets the least credit out of all the Final Fantasy soundtacks, and i also wanted to see if my work is good enough to make it through something like a judges panel before i go off to college for composition. Some parts of the song (when the drum set and bass comes in) are influenced by some works of Rob Dougan. But i feel like i made the mix my own while keeping the feel of the original peace. Hope you like. Also, I didn't really understand all the tagging. I tried my best to get all the information in. If i didn't i guess i'll try again sometime.

Hi djcubez here with a submission from the game Legend of Legaia. It's been a long time since I've submitted a remix despite the amount of time I've spent in my sequencer of choice (FLStudio). Let's get to it: Remixer Name: djcubez Real Name: Joe Lloyd Email Address: djcubez@hotmail.com Website: http://www.digitallymixed.com/ (Currently Down) Userid: I don't remember (I already have a remix on the site) Name of Game(s) remixed: Legend of Legaia Name of individual song(s) remixed: Jeremi (The town of?) Comments: I hope I filled out all the info correctly in the ID3 tags. The game information came form gamefaqs (http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/psx/data/197766.html). I'm also going to explain the mix a little bit.The beggining starts with a tom groove and a badly sampled guitar. The sliding on the bass and the tom rythm was influenced by a New Orleans jazz piece that my school's jazz band was playing. I enjoyed it enough to incorporate it into this remix. The mix then progresses to what I like to call a "soft rock" section. The drums play a very basic yet varying beat while the bass plays a confuzzled version of the main line (lead) of the song; the part that's remembered. The next section utilizes saxophones and a full percussion set first playing a more down tempo version of the melody and speeding up with a neat rythmic chord progression that I deeply enjoyed making (especially the drums). And next comes the latin part that starts with a simple kick-snare progression accompanied by yet another badly sampled guitar (forgive me). The piano then comes in and starts the groove which progresses into a solo. The last section is basically the finale with some small breakbeat elements. Over the remix I tried to stress varying drumwork along with plenty of fills. I also spent a bit of extra time equalizing every part and compressing certain bits to give it a fuller sound that I enjoy and I hope the OC community can also enjoy. Many thanks, Joe "djcubez" Lloyd

email sub file SilkWorm - don`t stop till Port Town.mp3 Hello DJPretzel, I send you my first remix, its a interpretation of the Port Town Track in F-Zero. Sorry for my bad english, iam from germany. I hope it will fit your standarts. Here are the infos: Real Name of the Remixer: Patrick Tonski Name of the Remixer: SilkWorm email : silkworm1@web.de Name of the track: Don`t stop till Port Town Album: The F-Zero Files the track contains the ID3 tag. Infos about the track: I thought a track from F-Zero would be nice to take hands on for my first remix try. I think all songs from F-Zero rocks, but here is a remix of the Port town theme. I gave the theme a violin touch, so that it sounds sad. Then i put some Drum and bass style drums on it and in the end, there is a nice little piano loop in the background. The sound quality isnt that good, but i like it. Just check it out. -end- I hope it s all good. Peace

LT Edit - Original Decision: http://www.ocremix.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=48031 1st RESUB Decision: http://www.ocremix.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=64165 If this one don't make it, I don't know what else to do.... At first I wasn't going to keep working on this, but I got a couple of e-mails asking me to continue. So, here it is. I don't really have time to point out the improvements I've made over the previous versions right now, so you'll have to see for yourselves. ; ) All I can say is, I pretty much combined all of the good elements from the previous versions to make this one. You can find the link to this mix posted on my web page here: http://www.angelfire.com/blues2/bluemagic/ Thanks alot, Damon a.k.a (Cool BreeZe)

ReMixer Name: Red Omen Real Name: Ryan Walker Email Address: red.omen@yahoo.com Website: http://www.redomen.com Forum ID#: 10619 Game: Chrono Trigger Songs: Courage and Pride, with snippets of Wind Scene and Frog's Theme Comments: Featured as Track 8 on Chrono Symphonic ( http://chrono.ocremix.org ). Claado Shou gave me free reign to remix the song, since this particular segment had no specific script to follow. I had a lot of trouble starting out, since the song is in F# major (six sharps), and putting it in any other key would change the quality. The brief modulation at 0:40 forced me to go into double-sharps. So after a while, I got kind of sick of it and found a way to twist things into G major at 3:02 so I could think straight. I would like to extend a huge thank-you to Andrew Triplett (Claado Shou), for organizing and implementing Chrono Symphonic; and to Roland Lölbach (Compyfox), for his hard work on the project and his advice, criticism and sound engineering on Hymn of Valor. Thanks to him, I now understand a great deal more about the production aspect of remixing. - Red Omen http://www.redomen.com __________________________________________ Yahoo!
