  1. email sub file Averx_Fire_For_Ice_OC_Remix.mp3 Remixer/Producer Alias: Averx Real Name: Avery Harvin Game Remixed: Donkey Kong Country 2 - Diddy's Kong Quest Song Remixed: In a Snow-Bound Land webpage: www.soundclick.com/averx Thoughts: I've been a musician for several years now, but this is my first game remix ever. I blended this mellow song with my classic hip-hop orchestral style. The rhythm is very fast and energetic, a counterpoint to the slow pace of the original composition (I'm all about the energy... haha). I played everything strictly by ear and then transposed the piece down a step. However, the only part retained from the original song is the chorus... everything else has been composed by me. Enjoy! P.S. I sent this in earlier to submissions@ocremix.org, but didn't get a confirmation letter. I wasn't sure which address to send it to, so here it is... again, haha. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! 2. This was one of those Psygnosis games on Amiga that made u wanna get game over, just to hear the music. I'm attaching the original, since it is so small. Just in case you havn't played the game. "If you don't succeed at once, try and try again" Those ID3v2tag-guidelines blew right by me, tried downloading a few apps, but none edited anything other than the classic tags (album, year and so on). /Erik Sundström
  3. Heres a little remix I did of The Great Bath from Turrican 2 (Amiga). I think the Id3 tags are ok. I only have iTunes here so I can't edit too much Is it fine? oh and a remixer name= SatanSam Cheers! -James.

  5. email sub file Eye of the Tempest.mp3 Remixer name: obsidian email: vaace4434@hotmail.com Name of game remixed: Legend of Zelda: Ocrarina of Time Song Remixed: Gerudo Valley Theme Comments: I incorporated different, unique approaches to this abused, but awesome theme. I first start with a bell-like ambience and contrabass solo to begin the ballad/waltz section of the remix. Then, a vocal-bell chorale ends the dramatic interp and a synth-lead begins the techno-like ending. I used most of the melodies from the original track and added some of my own. As the name suggests, I implemented a "wind" theme to help express the harsh desert the Gerudos live in. Very emotional indeed.... Enjoy.
  6. Contact Info ReMixer name- Cerrax Real name- Charles Koch email address- ckoch@cerrax.com Your website- www.cerrax.com ReMix Info Name of game(s) ReMixed- EarthBound Name of individual song(s) ReMixed- Just A Bad Dream, Eight Melodies For some reason the game over song "Just A Bad Dream" from EarthBound has always stayed in my mind as a very powerful song. My attempt here was to purge that same emotion through the piano and create a moving piece. It is called "Even Bad Dreams Can Come True". The begining is depressing and its reflecting the fact that Ness has died and that Earth's hope is lost. It turns even more deressing and maybe even evil as this realization sinks in. But then another song "Eight Melodies" chimes in and reminds Ness of what he is destined to do. After the slight uplifting Eight Melodies finish, the piece boldly jumps into a motivational tone and Ness realizes that he is only dead if he believes he is dead. Hence it is just a bad dream Thank you and enjoy. (Please keep the link posted if rejected) LINK-- http://www.cerrax.com/EarthBound_Even_Bad%20Dreams_Can_Come_True_OC_ReMix.mp3

  8. email sub file [savefile]060318140130_Yuko.mp3 Hello, This is Dream in Blue's remix of the second track from Usagi Yojimbo. The original material was rather sparse, so it left some space for interpretation...not too excessive, I hope. I also hope you enjoy it. 9. Email sub file 4I Falcon - ddBouf!.mp3 Sup. Well, I figured I'd eventually come to OCRemix, after all the outstanding things I'd heard about it. When I actually heard some of the remixes you guys host, I was hooked. I now have about half of your entire archive lying in wait on my hard drive. Next time you get a chance tell Mazedude I want to have his lovechild. Well, maybe not. But all the same. The one thing that really shocked me, however, is that you have no remixes of any of the music from the Jazz Jackrabbit series. Now, I happen to be a big fan of Jazz Jackrabbit, and at the same time I'm an avid musician, so I put two and two together and got something that most certainly isn't four. In fact, I think it might be closer to nineteen. But I digress. So here's all the stuff you asked for on the submissions criteria page, lined up for your viewing/listening pleasure. Remixer Name: 4I Falcon Real Name: Chris Fry E-mail Address: foureyefalcon@hotmail.com Website: I only wish. UserID: None as of yet, but soon to be. Remixed Game: Jazz Jackrabbit Name of Song: Orbitus (song11) Additional information about game: Released in 1994 for the PC, Jazz Jackrabbit was the brainchild of Cliff Bleszinski and Arjan Brussee, inspired by classic console games such as Super Mario Bros., Mega Man, and especially the fast-paced Sonic the Hedgehog. It was named Arcade Game of the Year by PC Format Magazine, as its vibrant graphics and speedy gameplay were something of a novelty on the PC at the time. The music for the original Jazz Jackrabbit was composed by Robert Allen. Link to the original song: attached (song11.s3m) Comments: I composed this song a year or two ago, as well as a generous number of other Jazz Jackrabbit remixes, as submissions to the second Jazz Jackrabbit Musicdisk compilation hosted by Haze at www.jazz2online.com. Unfortunately, this song didn't make it into the compilation, simply because it wasn't completed on time; however, it is still one of my better remixes, and I hope to get it into the third Musicdisk. Involved in the process of creating this song: Cubase 3.7SE, a Korg X5D, and countless lunch hours that I could have spent having lunch. (Fun fact!: ddbouf is the cheat code for invincibility in the game.) I have a good number of other songs I'd love to send your way sooner rather than later, as I am a rather eager little music whore. However, being that I've decided to play nice and respect your "wait three weeks, only send your best work and such" rule, it's probably going to take me, eh, about a year or so to get all my stuff across to you guys. That's about it. I think I'm just about out of words, so I'm going to go ahead and hit the send button now. Enjoy. - 4I Falcon.
  10. Hello Overclocked ReMix! I wish to send a remix i made of a song from a videogame: Remixer Name: Kriko Real Name: A. Schelin My Email: dea138@hotmail.com Videogame: Dragon’s Lair (NES) Song Remixed: Title Screen I recently picked up the good old NES game Dragon’s Lair and found out that the title screen music is pretty good and deserves to be remixed. Here’s my version of it. I tried to keep the kind of medieval feeling it has. Unfortunately i do not know who composed the origial music. Searching the internet didn’t give much and not even finishing the game will show any credit. I didn’t actually finish the game (which seems to be somewhat impossible) but a site told so. I left the Composer field in the tag empty fow now. Thank you. Here is the link to the song. Scroll down the site and press “free” and wait 20 seconds then it will appear. (Sorry about this)
  11. Hello Again. I realize in my previous submission e-mail, I promised to write more non-chiptune remixes again, but I decided to give one more shot at a pure NES chiptune before moving on. About four months ago for fun I started writing little songs that were meant to sound like NES music [not knowing much about the whole community of chiptune composers and all that]. I had written six of them when all of a sudden I noticed this in the judges decisions forum: http://www.ocremix.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=70953 It felt like fate! This happened just as I had begun making my NES songs. Writing "Chiptune" remixes was acceptable and passable on OCR as long as they were interpretive enough. I immediately contacted "The Underclocked" to hear his song. When I did, I realized I could definitely meet the standards proposed by the judges in the vote on his song.... so "Figaro Chiptune" was born. Figaro Chiptune was rejected but with lots of nice things being said about the piece itself, just that Chiptunes couldn't meet the standards of OCR. Graylightning had a bit more to say. One thing in particular stood out... I shall quote: "there is an art to chiptunes beyond these basic applications. For me, this is a pedestrian chiptune mix, and one I don't see that should pass. Maybe if it were to the quality of Virt chiptunes. But this.... Again, I go back to the very substandard production (even within the context of a chiptune)." This made me curious, what was I missing? I had been writing these just for kicks really without looking deeper. Later I also found out that Figaro Chiptune was breaking a law of the 2A03 chip, the Triangle channel had volume which was not allowed. After all that, I read up on the 2A03 chip's exact capabilities and downloaded a bunch of Virt's chiptunes to educate myself. As a result, and through writing several more NES chiptune originals/ just experimenting with the sounds, I think I've come to understand the "art to NES chiptunes" Gray was talking about. So, I wrote another NES chiptune Remix applying what I've learned. If this is also rejected, I'm totally cool with that of course, I'd just like the judges to get to evaluate an NES chiptune that better examplifies the power of the 2A03 and what it can do in order to keep from "Sounding like poo" as vig said. EEEENNNNNJJJJJOOOOOYYYY! {I purposely chose one of the most popular songs to remix...... for some reason that just feels like the way to go with these}

I thought my other name was kind of "a jack of all trades" and i needed to focus on one style first. So here's my first trance remix as MaZe. (url =>) It's from Secret of Mana, probably well know to you guys. Because of the 6 meg file limit i had to convert it at a low VBR rate, so quality suffers a bit... Hope you'll enjoy it. -MaZe

I've been listening to alot of AY Riders and decided to do a mix of chiptune / low fi and mabye even dabble some realistic elements into the mix. Doesn't stray too far from the original ( I hate to move too far D: ) but meh still my favorite and best song I've made yet. Song's named after an AY Riders album of the same name, check them out if you haven't heard of them. Enjoy _________________________________________________________________ Don’t just search. Find. 16. This was my mix for PRC63, the original song is called "Judgement", don't know much else about the game. The original is very rock orientated, good stuff and I wanted to keep that vibe, and extend on it into something alot more cool feeling and grooving. The mix is guitar focused, hard hitting and constantly varies to play around the idea. From hard rock to slipping into some funk based ground, with slap bass solos and mad drumming. Basically just good fun, and fun listening. I've been playing around with guitar ideas for a while, and wanted this to be a piece to show what I could do with fake guitars. I've dipped into some metal ideas, mostly with some of the drumming and bass, but kept it as energetic as possible. The synth work is just a layer of icing on the cake, to keep a unique feel about it, along with the second phased drum kit. This was great fun to work on in the end, I wish I could've made it longer, but I feel it does enough for its time. I hope Metal Slug fans can think fondly of it too. The games are a great series and really need more coverage. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yahoo! 17. First off, here's the link for the song: I guess I'll just do this email like a form in your guidelines: Contact Info Your ReMixer name: Main Finger (already in your system, but some info has changed) Your real name: Jesse Gregory Your email address: mainfinger@gmail.comNOSPAM Your website: http://www.soundclick.com/mainfinger ReMix Info Name of game(s) ReMixed: Section Z Name of individual song(s) ReMixed: Stage 1 Name of ReMix: Shootin' Both Ways System: NES Copyright: Capcom Composer: Capcom Sound Team So, I havn't attempted to post anything for quite a few years now, but I figure I'll give it a go. This is kind of in a style reminiscent of crystal method or prodigy. I had originally started this out as an original composition but it ended up sounding so much like section z (as pointed out by my roommate) that it became a section z remix. As far as production quality I'd have to say it is my best to date. Especially on the drums, those were a lot of fun as making beats is about my favorite thing to do. It made me pretty happy when a friend told me he could actually see this song as being on a commercially sold cd. Anyway, I hope you guys like it enough to put it on the site. Either way, you guys have a great community of very talented people here and I love to hear the results of their creativity. Goodbye! -Jesse "Main Finger" Gregory
  18. email sub file Kirby's Beach Rave 2006 (T-edits).mp3 Hello, This is my first submission here at OCremix. My remixer name is ManInGrey. Kirby's Beach Rave 2006 is me and my best friend Taylors best attempt at a trance-like song. We tried to give it the electo glide of trance, yet keep the same bouncey, upbeat feeling of the original song. If you think about it, you can actually imagine all the little Kibry characters having a rave on the beach to this song...like King Dedede as DJ or something lol. Anyway, I wrote the piano solo in the middle myself, and would like to thank Taylors friend from college for sampling Kirby's voice for us. Anyway, here it is and hope you enjoy. I've done frequent submissions to VGmix...although OCremix is what got me hooked on video game remixes. I've always wanted to join the ranks on OCremix...and I believe this song has a shot at it. Thanks! ~ManInGrey / Brian _________________________________________________________________ Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger! Download today - it's FREE!
  19. Email sub file Al - Sanxion (Buzz Mix).mp3 Dear OCR, I have made a remix and wish to submit it. I got a tad confused over the Remix ID; from what I gathered on the forums, you guys assign it to us on submission. I do hope any other small discrepancies I've overlooked don't kill my chances in the end. Since I am a new remixer on OCR, here are my details and the information about the song covered (please do not publicize my email address): Remixer Name : Al Email Address: Remix Name : Sanxion (Buzz Mix) Game Name : Sanxion System : C64 HVSC Location: Hubbard_Rob/Sanxion.sid SID Tune # : 1 I have about 3 remixes on remix.kwed.org, a website specifically for C64 remixes, and since the remix I'm submitting is one of a song from a C64 game, I have submitted it to remix.kwed.org. The HSVC Location and SID Tune # are required information on the submission form there (very stringent), so I figured it couldn't hurt to let you know exactly what is being remixed. My remixer name is a holdover from the other website - I was woefully uncreative when I made the account - but in the future, since I'm at my wit's end with them, I may just switch from Al to MrSparkle for my title and remain here. Regards, Mr. Sparkle
