Here's a new one by me: Not much to say about it. I'm glad to return to ocremix. Like I've already said, I promise not to ask to have any remixes deleted later, including this one if it makes it onto the site; it's permanent.

Game: Final Fantasy 4 Song: Into the Darkness (cave theme) Artist Name: Piejacked! A reggae type remix. The arrangement is pretty straightforward, the samples aren't the best, but dammit, I'm satisfied with this remix. I hope you like it. Protricity can delete the file from his server as soon as the judges/djp are finished with it. _________________________________________________________________ Don't just Search. Artist: Aerosteak Real names: Serge Sentis & Thomas Pison Email: aerosteak@free.fr Game: Marble Madness (level 4) Composer: ??? System: Arcade OCR forums user id: aerosteak links to original themes: http://www.bodenstaendig.de/marble/bin/marble4.mp3 (we can't find links to the second loop which is also part of the level 4 of the game) link to remix: We are two french musicians addicted to experimental electronica and rock. Being HUGE Marble Madness fans, we had no other choice than remixing some part of its music. The reason why we chose this specific level is that it is not particularly demanding (two short loops make the whole theme), so we could "re-arrange" the whole thing and try to add some melody to it in order to counterbalance the dark and epileptic beats. Almost every sound is extracted from the MM pcb (using M1). We filtered and twisted these sounds to make them fit in the mix better and add some atmosphere to the harsh sample loops and the break-corish beats. We hope you'll enjoy what you hear and excuse us for our poor english. TIA Sergio & Thomas

Mmmkaugh, Contact info: remixer name: Aetherius real name: Rab Townsend e-mail: pools_of_tears@hotmail.com website: http://www.soundclick.com/aetherius I'm giving the link to the file at the dkcproject, which means the id3s will be messed...If need be I can host it myself with fixed id3. (if this is the case...someone's going to have to...inform me of this.) It's a remix of 'misty menace' from Donkey Kong Country. my current remixer name is 'Dj_StarChild' I suppose that I should have it changed to Aetherius. If someone is opposed to said change, then changing the remixer name for this song to Dj_StarChild isn't a problem for me either...just requires messing with id3s...and stuff. yeah...so...go to it. This track can be found at... After a couple of weeks of extra work, and a previously 'unfinished' version of this released at VGmix called 'Slick Uniforms,' I present the FINAL version to OCR as 'Boss Uniform.' I've been listening to tons of modern jazz lately, and this song is certainly inspired by it; most of my music HAS been since 'Smooth Alexander.' But I've tried even harder this time to get that smoooooth, head-bobbing, foot-tapping sound going, yet keeping enough planetary squeaks and pads to give it that distant, starry Phantasy Star feeling, as if on another planet... I'm rather proud of this, as it's the best product to come from my new music software, and it represents my favorite gaming series rather well, I believe. Please enjoy! Email sub file Killer Instinct - The wolf of the Opera (OC ReMix).mp3 - djp Remixer name: Uboichi Real name: Uub Jacobson E-mail: uubjacobson@quicknet.com Song: The Wolf of the Opera Original Song: Tooth & Claw Game: Killer Instinct System: SNES Original composer: Robin Beanland, Graeme Norgate I was just messing around while playing the piano when WinAmp shifted to Tooth & Claw (Yeah, I always leave WinAmp on while I’m playing piano ” ). It didn’t take very long before the inspiration started to pour into my head. Tooth & Claw is quite a heavy piece, so I considered just one piano wouldn’t be enough, thus I added another one

Hello, David. Basically, what I have tried to do here is combine a theme from Chrono Trigger (Peaceful Days) with some of my original melodic ideas. The idea was that the whole thing would flow as a complete song and people who are familiar with the original will have a kind of chorus and bridge part that is new. Seamless integration as it were. This in reality, isn't really going to be the case. My writing can't possibly stand up in terms of comparative quality. However, I do think it's a reasonable attempt and hopefully one that will prove enjoyable enough. Details: Artist: spacepony Me: Richard Gaynor email: ponytunes@btopenworld.com Song Remixed: Peaceful Days (Chrono Trigger, SNES) Remix Tittle: Autumn Days Ok, I think that's all. Thank you for your time. Rich.

Hey DJP (and/or Judges) Mitch from Rosencrantz & guildensterN here. The time has finally come that we created another remix. More will be comming to. But anyway, we just finished a remix of "Tragic Prince" from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night"... Here's all the important info - ReMixer name - Rosencrantz & guildensterN real name - Mitch Wells and Nate Pedersen email address - Meatandmymonkey@hotmail.com Remix title - "The Tragic Formerly Known as Prince" Original song title - "The Tragic Prince" - From The Castlevania SOTN OST I'm going to assume that someone is curious what happened to us for the last 2 years or so. Well the short skinny of it is that we teamed up with a vocalist and tried to make a band that could play live, while at the same time re-recording Rosencrantz & guildensterN original music. The band fell apart after the recording was done, so after a 2 year break, Me and Nate went back to recording under the name Rosencrantz & guildensterN. Story behind the remix: We actually started this remix quite some time ago, probabally about a year and a half ago, and just recently picked up where we left off and finshed it. We picked SOTN, because there was no real "remix" from that game yet (just a nice piano arrangement and a song that used samples from the game), and because we like a challange. Everyone knows it has great music, so the idea of remixing a game that noone else wanted to touch because the music was already regarded as "perfect" or was extremely complex musically, was something we wanted to try. We had this idea of a sort of "duel" between various genres of music. First comes out a garage rock kind of version, which is interrupted by a (even more so than the original) hair metal interpretation. They play off each other for a while, and then get interrupted by a 70's psychedelic/electronic conception. Then they all kinda have fun toward the end. At the end is a little snippet of the DDR song "paranoia", is a subtle hint toward things to come. oh yeah and one kinda interesting fact about this song is that (like all our previous songs) we didn't use any midi files anywhere. Everything you hear is either a live insturment, or original programming. but enough of my rattling on. Go listen to it and see for yourself. Thanks for your time, and keep on remixin'. thats manly talk! Mitch

ReMixer Name: omegastation Real Name: Toby McKes ReMixed Game: Mega Man 3 Song: Not sure, but it's #11 in the NSF file... I was playing Mega Man Anniversary and I remembered how much I loved the music from all of the games. I used to play Mega Man 3 a whole bunch when I was a kid, so that was my favorite. I just did a sort of cover of the original and made it more techno-disco-poppy. I made it entirely in Reason 2.5 and mastered in SoundForge. -- _\ /_

Email sub file Kirby's_Dreamland_Dark_Base_OC_ReMix.mp3 - djp Remixer Name: Aamp Real Name: Trevor Email: aamp@shaw.ca Website: None Name of game from which music was remixed: Kirby's Adventure. Name of original song: I am not sure. It is very short, I think it is the music from a map screen; it is track #36 on the NSF file which can be found at Zophar's Domain. Additional information: Kirby's Adventure was a game that was released for the NES in 1993 I believe. Music was composed by Hirokazu Ando and Jun Ishikawa. I am leaving on a trip to Japan in a couple of hours and I thought what better way to pass the time other than to recompose some Japanese music, so I busted out my keyboard, opened a Kirby NSF file and looked for a simple track to play along with. I found a short repetative one and after figuring out what the notes were, I set out to elaborate on it and decided I'd attempt to create a trance track out of it. Though a remarkably peaceful sounding little tune on the nes, when I tried to reproduce it, it sounded dark and evil. I decided rather than making a soft trance track using the peaceful elements from the original, I would go in the other direction and run with my dark creation producing a deep heavy sound. I could have made the track longer, but considering that the original is only about 10 seconds long, I had to do as much as possible to achieve a certain length while retaining an interest factor without it being too drawn out. I didn't want to use the exact composition of riffs as the original otherwise my song would have been too repetative, so I changed the riffs around while using some of the same notes. To me, the resemblence is tough to notice because I engulfed it in so much of my original material to make it remix worthy and to keep the track interesting. I guess this can either be a good thing, or a bad thing. The track overall is short and simple but could be effective if used as an intro track or an outtro track on a CD or, even as a track thrown into a playlist as an intermission song to change the mood for a breif period... I wish I had some better samples to work with though... Sorry, but I don't have a website, so I'm going to send the song as an email attachment. Fortunately, the file is not too large due to the short length of the song. Thank you very much for your time, Aamp.

Leisure Suit Larry 1: In the Land of the Lounge Lizards by Chris Braymen Remixed by chocobo_cid aka Benjamin Baxter Desperate to do a remix not involving Square, Nintendo, or any other prolifically found here or anywhere else, I settled on the various remix-friendly yet virtually unknown as being remixed PC game arena. This music is from the first Al Lowe "Larry" game. I included several additions including but not limited to a new instrumentation, immeasurably-better-than-what-they-were cuttoffs, and better (?) entrances. I submitted the final version to the WIP by accident at first, but now it is where it allegedly belongs. To keep the integrity of the original, I left it more alone than I would have liked. (See the seven month old WIP, Toccata and Fugue in A minor for what I mean.) I admit to having stuck rather close to the original on this one; it is not nearly as much of a departure as my previous WIP. I hope you enjoy it more than I do. I used the Jeux 1.4 Organ (not really bad brass; it's an electric organ) and Darkesword's Tenor Sax Soundfont, as well as the assorted midi sounds that I thought were passable. This is also my best effort on this piece, this piece being possibly my only "straight" arrangement for a while before I jump right back into the wierd stuff again. Please comment and rate fairly for this infrequent visitor.

I don't know what my "remixer" name is..... maybe..... Aardvark. The song is "remixed" from the castlevania series, no specific game though. This is not the official final version of the song, there are still many rough spots in it. I just wanted to know if this fit your definition. Thanks! _______________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
