  1. Sound quality there, but is it TOO faithful? YOU be the judge(s)! - djp

Hi, my name is Nick Seybert. I'm an accounting student at the U. of Maryland. My url is

There are a few songs there but the one you should have a listen to is the street fighter one (obviously). I listened to the other guy's ending credits mix on your site and I didn't think it was faithful enough to the original. I know this mix isn't the most wonderful thing in the world but I just made it to listen to in my car since I couldn't find a good way of ripping the original from my sf2 champion edition pc engine rom. It loops just like the original did at the ending credits. The PC Engine had a slightly different sound engine as far as I know and this mix actually is more like the snes version on SF2 Turbo. Anyway if you think it's worthy of OC Remix then I'd love to see it up on your site. Let me know if there is any problem with the ID3 tags. I've never edited those tags until today on any file. If you have a problem accessing the website then just wait a few hours or so; people from a Korg Triton website sometimes may access it for a samples file. Thanks for your time and I plan on making more submissions in the future although I don't have much time to write music myself. Talk to you later

  2. Okay, I know that OCR has its fair share of FFVI ReMixes, but this one will hopefully offer something different.

It's a concept/story piece called Take Back the Town!, which mixes the "Occupied Town" and "Town" themes from FFVI into a battle theme type piece. I wrote this mix from scratch in one day. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did writing it.

I'd like this creditted to DarkeSword. My email address is darkesword@exphyl.com, and my website is http://only.at/darkesword.

    Thanks for your time!

  4. Hi. Big fan of the site, I think it's great you came up with a site as unique and long overdue as this one. I can truly appreciate it, as I've had some experience with music making, mainly on the piano, and I've just been introduced to the digital music field.

This is my first submission which I actually made months ago using Acid 2.0, but never bothered to submit for some reason. It's based on Donkey Kong Country 2's wasp hive theme (one of my faves), entitled "The Wasp Hive Jive."

    You can download it here:

By the way, I've been looking for some software that's a bit more efficient than Acid 2.0 (not a big fan of loops, I think they're restricting). Any ideas?

  5. Hey djpretzel,

First off, I love your site. I've been coming here for months and I'm constantly coming back looking for new and interesting remixes.

OK, now on to the mix. I chose to remix this song from the SegaCD version of Final Fight. The music is from a level that I know for a fact is not on the SNES version, and I'm not sure it's in the original arcade version either. Anyway, it's a level that you're riding an industrial elevator, and bad guys are dropping in all around. Finally you get to the boss "Rolento" who tosses grenades at you and what not, he's a total pain in the ass. Anyway, the music was this awesome guitar track much like the entire soundtrack for that game.

For my mix, I chose to go for a more electronic/rock hybrid. Everything I played by hand (guitar, keyboard, and drum programming). I only use one drum loop and I cut it all to hell in the beginning. There are 2 parts to this remix, the first part gets you set up so you get the general idea of the mix, and then there's a change in tone and it turns into the adrenaline pumping (hopefully) track it should be. This song should get you pumped up to go kick some ass on the street. OK, laterz!

Here is the link to the file:

All right, I would have properly labeled the song, but MP3.com changes all the tag stuff, so I'll put it all here:

  7. Yo guys!

I'd Like to start by saying that your site is really awesome and has nothing but great music. I've been a fan for a long time and always dreamed about having a remix of my own posted. Unfortunatelly, Im not very good with music, but still I tryed hard to do a good remix. After some frustrating results with other songs I finally got something that sounds nice (at least to me...). So, here it is, my first official remix. I followed all the rules and hope everything is ok. I did the remix all by myself and used as little pre-made material as possible. Please take a look, I mean, a listening, and evaluate it. If it's not up to snuff, that's ok. As much as I'd love to have my remix posted, I'd hate to see crappy music on your site. But please, either way, give me some feedback (by the way, I'm already taking lessons on becoming a catholic nun, you know, just in case). Thanks in advance! Hoping to hear from you soon, MesSMakeR (From Brazil)

If you decide to post my music (my fingers are crossed), you can use my following e-mail in the site (for the fans): taxidriver666br@yahoo.com.br

  8. Hello, its been a looooong time since I've submitted anything. Anyway, this

remix is kinda weird, but kinda cool. Took me a while to make. There's

something in this remix that no other remix can have: My sister-in-law sang

all the lyrics^_^ Oh, speaking of which, any off-temponess of her singing is

completely my fault, not hers:) anyway, this is the boat song from Lunar

Silver Star Story Complete and I hope you enjoy^_^

Information that you probably already have:

    Remixer: Main Finger

  9. Now correct me if I'm wrong (I'm not BTW)- but being a SUPER MEGA HARDCORE ANIME MUSIC FAN (pry bigger than game music now) I'd have to point out and applaud your inspiration:

Taku Iwasaki's Witch Hunter Robin. My favorite anime composer and one of my favorite soundtracks of all time.

Good call - actually, a mix of that and .Hack/Sign, both of which I've been into lately. WHR not only has great music but also amazing character designs. Thanks for the props.

  10. Remember that while the arrangement is VERY important, if it was all that was important we'd be hosting MIDI files ala vgmusic.com. Not to knock what they've got going, as it's totally worthwhile, but I view the distinction between that and OCR being that not only is the arrangement of high quality, but the mixing and sounds are something you couldn't do with a soundblaster 16 and mediocre GM soundset.

I know it's hard to recognize great work in one arena (arranging) and still have to say no because of shortcomings in another, but it's definitely a two-criteria ballgame.

  11. in an email or private message, i forget which, DJP said that this would

probably be faster. But then that Morrowwind track was submitted and

posted in less than three days, because I was hosting the file for him.

Yes, but I'm not guaranteed to directly post something by a judge, and might send it back to the judges forum. It's not an absolute given, just a likelihood, which is why posting here can be faster.

  12. Pretty neat . . . what do you guys think?

    -djp

    Hello!

This is an arrangement of "At the Bottom of the Night" from Chrono Trigger. Yeah, I'm sorry for another CT mix, but I have always been enamored with this song.

In any case, every single note is played with a sine wave. The only things that aren't are some of the drums and effects that I used to fill out the sound a bit.

    My remixer nickname is "Beej".

Here is the URL to my song:

    Thanks for your time!

  13. Hey man

I have posted a simmilar remix to you before, but in midi.. This time I have

done my best, and remade it in reason, and the result is a real Orchestral version
