  1. It has both id3v1 and v2 tags embedded, maybe not a good idea? they are just duplicated so try removing the v1 or v2 tag before playing.

Apologies if i`ve knackered anyone elses machine up with this. but you`d think if enabling both could cause problems you wouldn`t be able too :(

All ID3v1 tags are stripped before each mix is posted. OCR uses ID3v2 exclusively. As this was the original ReMixer's comment, I won't delete anything, but do try to keep conversation about a ReMix limited to the ReMix itself, not any technical difficulties you have getting it or playing it. Use the Newbies / Help forum for that. The file validates as a legal MP3 binary with correct ID3v2 tags, so any system problems relating to its playback are most likely with the system, not the file.

  2. Not bad . . . -djp

Hey Mr. OCR aka djpretzel aka the judges,

This is Adhesive_Boy, and I've gone for a more "listener friendly" remix

than my past submission. It's still not technically sound, which will never

go over too well at OCR, but I still think it's some good stuff. I did this

for a contest just a week ago (at the time of submission) and I got second

place. So it goes. Here's the link, hosted conveniently on Saunder's server.

You may need to change a few of the Id3v2 tags or whatever, but I don't

    think it will be needed:

Anyway, everyone's favorite "ear-piercing" high pitched instrument (called a

theremin) is back, along with some semi-funky keyboards and drums. People

may not like the "theremin", but I do and it's my remix. It's quieter,

though, so it shouldn't be as much of a problem for people. No or not much

Calvin and Hobbes-esque glue and wood as DiscoDan alluded to with my earlier

remix. The middle section is quite weird, but it is just to add some

spooky-weirdness to it and to set up the keyboard solo.

And if any of the judges or whoever are curious, I am not deaf, and I

actually do have a pretty good ear for music. I just choose to put weird

stuff in here. I have no concern with making a remix of a specific genre.

Music to me is something that shouldn't be categorized. So there. There's

much more bass work now, though, to even the treble/bass stuff out...

I hope people like this one. I made this entirely for free with MODplug, and

I certainly had fun doing it. Enjoy. There's something I forgot to say about

all this. I can't remember now though. I hope it wasn't important.

Don't take all this submission stuff I've written too seriously, btw. Just

worry about the remix - I don't want any flaming pms or figurative

    pummelings in the nads...

  3. Hi DJP!

It's me again. This time I decided to take a break from Mega Man and remix

    Final Fantasy.

It's a remix from Devils Lab and please give it a good listen, 'cos You will

notice that this is much higher quality remix what I've sending before

    (sorry, about those two)

    Well anyway, here's the link:

Click the "Final Fantasy VI Esper Abattoir" link (please report, if broken

    link)

P.S. If this will be accepted as OC ReMix, feel free to use the info on my

site when you're creating my OC ReMixer profile :)

Well, have a nice day and peace :)

  4. Sound quality there, but is it TOO faithful? YOU be the judge(s)! - djp

Hi, my name is Nick Seybert. I'm an accounting student at the U. of Maryland. My url is

There are a few songs there but the one you should have a listen to is the street fighter one (obviously). I listened to the other guy's ending credits mix on your site and I didn't think it was faithful enough to the original. I know this mix isn't the most wonderful thing in the world but I just made it to listen to in my car since I couldn't find a good way of ripping the original from my sf2 champion edition pc engine rom. It loops just like the original did at the ending credits. The PC Engine had a slightly different sound engine as far as I know and this mix actually is more like the snes version on SF2 Turbo. Anyway if you think it's worthy of OC Remix then I'd love to see it up on your site. Let me know if there is any problem with the ID3 tags. I've never edited those tags until today on any file. If you have a problem accessing the website then just wait a few hours or so; people from a Korg Triton website sometimes may access it for a samples file. Thanks for your time and I plan on making more submissions in the future although I don't have much time to write music myself. Talk to you later

  5. Okay, I know that OCR has its fair share of FFVI ReMixes, but this one will hopefully offer something different.

It's a concept/story piece called Take Back the Town!, which mixes the "Occupied Town" and "Town" themes from FFVI into a battle theme type piece. I wrote this mix from scratch in one day. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did writing it.

I'd like this creditted to DarkeSword. My email address is darkesword@exphyl.com, and my website is http://only.at/darkesword.

    Thanks for your time!
