  1. Good call - actually, a mix of that and .Hack/Sign, both of which I've been into lately. WHR not only has great music but also amazing character designs. Thanks for the props.
  2. Remember that while the arrangement is VERY important, if it was all that was important we'd be hosting MIDI files ala vgmusic.com. Not to knock what they've got going, as it's totally worthwhile, but I view the distinction between that and OCR being that not only is the arrangement of high quality, but the mixing and sounds are something you couldn't do with a soundblaster 16 and mediocre GM soundset. I know it's hard to recognize great work in one arena (arranging) and still have to say no because of shortcomings in another, but it's definitely a two-criteria ballgame.
  3. Yes, but I'm not guaranteed to directly post something by a judge, and might send it back to the judges forum. It's not an absolute given, just a likelihood, which is why posting here can be faster.
  4. Pretty neat . . . what do you guys think? -djp Hello! This is an arrangement of "At the Bottom of the Night" from Chrono Trigger. Yeah, I'm sorry for another CT mix, but I have always been enamored with this song. In any case, every single note is played with a sine wave. The only things that aren't are some of the drums and effects that I used to fill out the sound a bit. My remixer nickname is "Beej". Here is the URL to my song: Thanks for your time!
  5. Hey man I know that my curent music peaces have passed, but I hope u will enjoy this one. I have posted a simmilar remix to you before, but in midi.. This time I have done my best, and remade it in reason, and the result is a real Orchestral version of the stage one music of Rush n' Attack for nes. I would be wery happy if this remake passes.. I hope u like it //xanax xanax zanaku@post.netlink.se
  6. Wellsir, this is my 2nd submission now, bringing my grand total upto... hmm, two. As last time, trusty Fruityloops helped me craft the piece. In case I've made the title a little vague, it's 'Still More Fighting', the boss music from Squaresoft's FFVII. I don't recall this one being done too often. Enjoy! M@
  7. Hi-- Here's another remix I did. It's a remix of the Birdo song from Super Mario Bros 2. I tried to keep to the original feeling, but also tried to make it different. Here's the remix file address: The name of the remix is Birdo's Electric Omelet. Also, I'd like my name to be Kyle Nin. And my website is: Thanks. --Kyle
  8. check this crapola out.... I did this in a couple hours one day when i was bored at work....musically true to the original except that it's been dropped a 5th. The bass and sparkly sound fx are from the game (put thru Pitch&Time2.0) The guitar is real. The percussion is Reason's Redrum playing back drums samples that i recorded. I really dig your site. I just wish there was a way to organize the songs by rating.... or at least separate the stuff with live instrumentation from the electronic stuff. -serficus winthrax
  9. yay... finally finished this one after some software problems were worked out. Please give it a listen. It can be found at my geocities space here: thanks, Chris Powell (Avien)

  14. Anyone know the original? Sounds like it might be close just by the nature of the sequencing, but I don't know -djp Hi man, I d like to contribute to your remix collection so, I hope you ll like mine =) It s an arranged version of a boss track from Ludora No Hihou (Last Square soft game on super famicom) . The Hunted Chaser Waiting for your reply. Regards Rks UPDATE FROM DC13: The submitter didn't know the actual title of the game he was ReMixing, which is a shame. The song he ReMixed is from Rudra No Hihou. The original composer is Ryuji Sasai (You might know him for being part of the FFMQ music team). After sifting through about 60 songs, I found the original. You can download it here: http://66.57.177.30/darkcecil13/rnh-28.spc - Screenies for DJP (If accepted): http://www.vgmuseum.com/images/snes01/01/rudra.html (Yes, he could have easily found these, but, hey, I was already here)
  15. I'm not sure that this is quite what you're site is about, but this mad hip hop tune by the Desert Empire's hottest rap group should blow your socks off. "MoFo Maniac" based on the theme to Maniac Mansion for the NES Produced by The MilkMan Morgan for the Honky Mofos featuring The MilkMan Morgan and Kibbone the Naughty Caucasian Official MoFo Website is at the song is hosted at give it a listen. We hope you dig it and chose to host us on your site. Thank you for your consideration.
  16. Hey there, I submitted a "Kung Fu" remix way back. Here is my rendition of the "Boss Theme" from "River City Ransom" for the NES. The title is "BARF!". Thanks, badlsdtrip http://www.sound-test.org
  17. The submission. Hi there. Let me first say I've been a fan of your site before I even knew it existed! On the currently neutered napster and kazaa I had downloaded remixes with OC in the title. And those were ska arrangements - initially I thought it stood for "Orange County". I had no idea there was this HUGE movement for reviving video game soundtracks. Let me tell you, it's awesome to see I'm not such a freakish geek after all; well, at least in the regards of digging video game music. The timing of this discovery is rather providential, too. I just finished a Startropics remix this very day and was checking on Mp3.com to see if anyone else had done it, and ONE dude had. Fairlight - "Test of Island Courage". From there I learned of OC.com. So yeah. This is my first submission. I have arrangements in mind for other Startropics themes, too, and then other old skool games. Hope you like it! Super Mushroom
  18. Note: Thought about using the form rejection letter here, but the guitar playing is decent so I thought it at least deserved some feedback. Was I wrong? -djp I did a cover/remix of Nakoruru's theme from Samurai Shodown. It consists of the theme playing from NGPC version with sound effects from SS4.. followed by live guitar playing over it... followed by a metal outro. The address of the song is.. I couldn't figure out how to do the ID3v1 tags on my mac but this is the info. I hope it isn't a problem.. Title: Samurai Shodown- "Nakoruru is Like Immortal" OC ReMix Artist: bluefour Year: 2002 Genre: Game If you do decide to use it credit me as "bluefour", post this e-mail, and a link to Thanks -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Changed your e-mail? 19. Hi Mr Pretzel, please consider downloading my newest remix. I wanted to capture the eerie atmosphere in the superb Super Metroid with this techno-ish interpretation. Did I succeed? 20. Hey there, I polished up a remix tonight, and figured it'd be a good one to start off with, and see if it can get accepted. I dubbed it "Cry in 1986." It's a version of Cry in Sorrow from FFIV, with an *almost* power ballad feel to most of it. I guess I'll let you draw your own conclusions ;P Here's the URL. Thanks for the time -FlextoneJunkie
  21. I know i've submitted this before, but i've fixed it up It's a rock remix of and AOEII Music part thing. Since this is my first time actually submitting, i'm not quite sure what to put in this e-mail. I used Anvil Studio and a Keyboard to make it. Uhhh... yeah. it's at I don't have a website, yet. --Needmorezelda Edit by orkybash: fixed the URL
  22. 23. Been there, done that, got the T-shit. Prefer Tchaikovsky, Wagner and Dvorak from that period, myself, but to your point: I'm not one to deem almost any transition as "wrong" technically, but "bad" is different from "wrong" and that's more where I was headed. Even if something is "acceptable" within a given genre, era, what have you, it still needs to work musically, and this felt abrupt and, as noted, forced. Everyone should be well aware I'm a big Russell Cox fan, but I also calls 'em like I seens 'em, and I wouldn't equate someone saying something is bad with them saying it's wrong, as one is subjective and the other usually implies objectivity.
  24. Greetings once again, esteemed djpretzel, Sorry, I was forced to move my song to a new location... Here's the updated information, then: ReMix Title: Party in the Shop ReMix URL: ReMixer Name: Dr. Fruitcake ReMixer Website: http://fruitcakemidi.250x.com Original Song: Zelda: Ocarina of Time - "Inside a Shop" theme Original Composer: Koji Kondo
  25. Hello, I am Kentaro, a new potential contributer to OCR. This will be my first submission, and I thank you for your time. The song is a remix of "Decadence of God" from Breath of Fire 2 for the SNES and GBA, also I believe your first submission for that game as well (disregarding regected submissions, of course). The Remix title is "Glory to God", and it is done in a symphonic metal style. I, as might be clear from listening to the mp3, use SoundFonts personally, and this makes use of a collection I have been amassing for nearly a year now, yet I have been composing and remixing for far longer than that. The file can be found at yes, there are undescores there), ID3v2 tag complete. It is about 1.8MBytes Thank you again for your time. Even if your judges do not find this particular song worthy of the honor of appearing on your page, I am constantly trying to improve my ability, and you may hear from me again in the extended future. ~~Kentaro~~ -- __________________________________________________________ Sign-up for your own FREE Personalized E-mail at Mail.com http://www.mail.com/?sr=signup
