  1. Dave Wise, Grant and Beanland all on one OCR track as the #2000 ReMix that started the release of the DKC2 album.......*WWWHHHHHOOOOOOTTTTTTT!!!!!!* Seriously though, this a great track. Dave took a track he did around 15 years ago and molded it into a proud 2010 beast of music! The horns were great, the track easily flowed and I actually find this better than the original because it seems.....em......I don't know if this is the right word, fresher or crisper. Either way, amazing work and congrats to these VGM masters and the OCR crew! See you all at #3000!

  2. DJP- "However, the Divers still managed to construct something original, catchy, and destined to invoke the wrath of those who hold even the quirky Chocobo theme sacrosanct and/or hate rapping of any kind and/or dislike the notion of an amusing track on an FF4 album, because all Final Fantasy must be serious business at all times."

This is awful. Seriously. It was a joke track on the otherwise awesome FF4 project, and I can't believe it was even taken seriously. I mean... honestly. Even as an OCR, how can anyone take this as anything serious? Team Gato has the same problem, but at least Team Gato has good music underlying the silliness.

Everything about this is bad. The rapping is loose, and lacks intelligence. The music underneath is repetitive and boring. Just... No. Maybe this would make sense as an April Fool's day flood, but yeesh.

Alright, let me qualify this a bit. I love team Gato, but because it has actual game lyrics, and great underlying music. As far as Rap goes, I think you can't get any more controversial or awesome than Niggaz For Life, which was amazing. So the rap thing can be done and done well. As other mixes have proved (Including one very recently posted.) So it's not the style or the decision to have some fun that's the problem here. The fact that it is an obvious joke, like Music of My Groin (which is only "awesome" because it's so retarded) is what kills it.

Wow, is just too funny. :lmassoff: I think DJP saw this comment coming. In fact, I'm wondering if you really feel this way or just humoring DJP's comment, because it's way too close to his "too serious" remark.

That being said, I liked it. The lyrics were corny and obviously a parody (although I thought Shiva's part was pretty hot, no pun). I agree that the lyrics could have been tighter, but this is more than I'd expect. The beat was done well with the original theme and I liked the fact that it kept the same weirdness of the original (and probably made it weirder). Yeah, this is probably one of the best themes on the album.

  3. Alright, for the two people I might have missed spamming the IRC room, here's the dealio:

    1) Go get the latest episode of OCAD here (Episode 16: Serious Primeapes)

    2) Listen through the show, or alternatively, skip to around 1 hour and 14 minutes.

    3) LISTEN TO GET THE DKC2 RELEASE DATE AND LISTENING PARTY INFORMATION.

It's a good episode even if you just get it for the DKC2 info, as we have preview tracks from The Sound of Speed, Maverick Rising, and The Missingno Tracks. Also we talk with Halc and Willrock. Yeah, a very cool episode indeed.

Just might be my favorite episode. I'm looking forward to all four fo those projects!

  4. Hello everyone. This is my first attempt at remix requests so here goes. I'm looking for Rock or techno remixes of four songs from Megaman X3.

    Firstly Acid Seahorse

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WidbGi_0mOs

    Then Electro Namazuros

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gz3_JN8hk7c

    As well as Scissors Shrimper

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EOCNw05m-s

    and lastly Shining TigerD

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4pX1dHaojI

These four tracks are my favourite from the OST which i love and upon searching the jeweled halls of OCR I see that none of these tracks are remixed as of yet so i'm putting a call out there.

Here's hoping someone will try. :D

A bunch of ReMixers are doing a project on the X games including MMX3, and I certain these four will be claimed and done sometime. It's in the Project section of OCR under Maverick Rising: http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=27078 if you wanna check it out. Check the first page for a list of tracks claimed and how far along they are.

  5. DJP: "Either make a vocal mix, or make an instrumental mix, but don't pepper vocal bits around sparsely."

This. Don't get me wrong, I love the vocals and the metal work around it, and it's awesome (because I seem to be one of the few that know the source) to see it worked this way. This Remix really is great all way around. I just think this sounds like half a ReMix with one music section and one vocal section. It's sounds like a solo and/or music only section could have been added after the first round of lyrics and finally end a vocal finale. But like I said, I like what IS here, and that's what counts. Great job, AMT!

PS: I'm not good at hearing out metal vocals, so what are the last two lines of the lyrics? I can make out the first two, but it's the 2nd half that I can't seem to understand.

  6. If I could ReMix, it would be anything from MMX and SMRPG. Seeing as MMX has an album in the works, it'd would probably the final battle of SMRPG, with a mix of metal orca. It'd work in my head, but my lack of talent prevents me from getting it done.

  7. Hyrule Castle is in my opinion the best track on the the Link to the Past game and I'm proud to say that you can add me to the list of people who have been caught daydreaming and being woken up by the epicness at 2:40. There aren't a whole lot of songs that I can listen to for over seven minutes before I'm pacing back and forth and cheating by fast-forwarding, but this is one of those that make me sit still and smile. Disco Dan (great name BTW) delivers on this one. Sweet work!

  8. I really don't think this'd pass the judging panel nowadays (or it'd be really close), but i'm really glad it made it in when it did.

    Recommended.

Ditto. This sounds almost too close to the source aside from the piano and the beats over it. Not saying it's a bad thing, as I like it. I just don't know if this would have held up on today's grounds. Other than that, awesome work. Love this ReMix.
