  1. I have to say, Ace Combat 04 is what really gave me a deep appreciation for video game music. Overall, NAMCO's been setting higher and higher bars on music quality since Y2K. Ace Combat "Xeno" and "Tales Of" franchises have some of the best soundtracks to come from a game since the start of the century and very few games outside of NAMCO have been able to compete with their quality and variety of music as of late. I can think of only Kid Icarus: Uprising being a non-Namco game that really hit it out of the park as of late when it comes to overall OST Quality.
  2. I've been having fun with Kid Icarus: Uprising, but something I noticed about it over the past month is that it's got an amazing soundtrack. While some of it is rehashed versions of the original games music, a lot of the new material is quite catchy with a fairly high average quality overall with a few songs that really stand out without any one song overshadowing the rest of the sound track in "Ice Cap" fashion. So I'm curious if any of the remixers have thought about remixing any of the songs; my rather optimistic side hopes you guys would do a whole album but that may be asking much, I don't know.
  3. I like it... but I feel this particular song could also be appropriately remixed in an "Epic Final Battle" type of way complete with Latin Chorus and such. It's what I was at first expecting when I saw who made this remix.
  4. Yeah, if you go for the island expansion and your opponent fast techs to air units, you can easily lose the expansion before you can go into your own mid-game tech shifts... not to mention the loss of resources from flying your command center to the island in the first place puts even your main army at a disadvantage over building the command center on site... although it seems almost standard practice to build a command center in a secure region before flying it to the expansion so it probably isn't that much of a loss anyways.
  5. Okay, I've editted the initial post to provide more info on the actual game, as well as youtube links to not only the song I specifically requested, but also several other notable songs from the game. I hope one of them catches your fancy. This will effectively be the last self-bump if I get no responses of interest since there is effectively no possible updates with anything relevant that would justify it now that I have the Twin Winds and the Druna Skass I/II themes up.
  6. Bump with the full song that someone put up on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hq3KzeohfgE
  7. Okay, I've found pretty clear recordings of several exceptional Naval Ops: Commander songs. Wirblewind, Sturmwind and Druna Skass II themes have been updated with the audio directly from the game. Game: Naval Ops: Commander Publisher: Koei Released: Jan 22, 2004 (American Release: March 10, 2004) Platform: Playstation 2 Songs: The song I'd most like to see remixed is this first one... Wirblewind Theme - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xklo8llgqxI Background to the song is that it's a Super High Speed Battlecruiser, going 70+ knots, and is the first boss fight you encounter. Sturmwind Theme - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHuXe-Nj7OI&feature=channel Sister ship to the Wirblewind, it is encountered while you are in a tapered bay, effectively it's a trap scenario. It goes as fast, if not faster than the Wirblewind. Druna Skass I Theme - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiGSDi8y19E&feature=related One of the final bosses of the game, it posesses an oversized laser weapon capable of oneshotting everything in a line between itself and the edge of the level's map. (The Secret Final Boss Silfurbor Negla also uses this theme, and is basically the Druna Skass on steroids... both battles occur at night time, but Negla occurs in the midst of an icefield... the Silfurbor appears through dialogue to be sentient itself and obsessed with destroying all life). Druna Skass II Theme - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-Dbrpkxf8E&feature=channel The final boss of the game if you don't count the Silfurbor Negla... a slightly more powerful version of the Druna Skass, but it's the map that makes the fight more difficult in that it waits for you in an inland sea with three narrow waterways leading to it, and this sea is effectively an arena for a one on one fight.
  8. Shameless self bump... come on, someone else must have heard of this game!?
  9. Does that include the removal of the letters at the top that linked to alpha lists of games?
  10. It was released in the wake of and at about the time of some of the greatest RPGs of all time including FFVII and VIII and gaming reviews shrugged it off as some lame attempt at a FFVIII knock-off/killer in spite of an overall unique combat system and story. Additionally, as noted by some prior, its OST is not generally outstanding, so its handful of audio gems get overlooked easily.
  11. I'm presently mulling over the qualifications for "Do you Believe" as well. From my searches so far, it was created for the specific purpose of being played in-game and has not seen release on any album outside of the LoD Title. I also cannot find any signs that it is a cover of some pre-existing song.
  12. I'm a big fan of Combat Flight Sims and the more Arcadish compromise in the Ace Combat Series... and Ace Combat 4 and beyond more or less mesmorized me with their music, but I was never able to forget the game that got me started in the genre, Tactical Fighter Experiment, or TFX for the PC. Recently, I found that someone finally uploaded them to Youtube (Naturally I nearly died of heartattack upon finding out, lol) after spending several years searching in vain. Now that I found them, having been following OCRemix for years, I wish to make a request for some sort of remix be done for any song, but the one I desire most is the following: Granted I was like 10 at the time, I found it a real treat in my ears. Though my copy of the CD eventually got scratched beyond recognition, I couldn't forget that song... often I woke up in a daze in the middle of a study hall or some class I can breeze through the tests for in half the time given humming some song from TFX in my head. This and two other songs were particularly notorious to me for making me do this. One of these was the scene when a mission ends either in your death or capture (I often flipped my plane over at 0 altitude and ejected just to listen to it). Then last but not least, the Enroll song: As I'm something of an artist with a pencil, I know that often an artist often prefers to feel freedom with their work so I will not request that any of these be done any particular genre. There are other tracks in the game that were also uploaded, really, I'd be happy with any of them being remixed. Developed by Digital Image Design Published by Ocean Software. Composed by Barry Leitch Thank you very much
