I'll admit, it took a few listens to get this track to grow on me. I'm still not fully a fan of the male vocals for this one, sounds almost too lethargic for an arrangement of the victory fanfare, but it's kind of a trend for OCR FF album tracks to have titles/arrangements that take the original and do the inverse of it ("Hey Cid!" becoming "Goodbye Cid" and "Into the Darkness" becoming "Step Into the Light" from the FFIV album come to mind). However, the track is still continuing to grow on me and I never outright disliked it, it's probably one of those cases where you can chalk it up to a clashing of personal taste. Good job all the same!

I enjoyed this track a lot. The variations of Kefka's theme really suited the character's nature, hitting the highs and lows of his personality. One of my most listened to tracks from the Kickstarter exclusive Disc 1 preview. Excellent work to all the performers involved.

This was such an awesome piece. Probably the best track on disc 1 of the album, and that isn't an easy call to make either.
-
Out of the tracks for the album I've heard so far, this one is easily in the top three, if not number one itself. Awesome job!

I'm presently on disc 3 and I am in awe of how far OCR has come since I first learned of the site, something I feel like I've said for previous album releases as well. Thank you all so much for your contributions and effort. I've been spreading the word and am considering the possibility of typing up a review for a Final Fantasy-themed site I frequent the forums of. Time, work, and real-life stuff will determine the likelihood of that happening, but I hope to manage something. At any rate, I'm looking forward to finishing up my initial listen sometime tomorrow.

At the start of Persona 4, Teddie (known as "Kuma" in the original Japanese version) leads a peaceful, solitary existence within the TV World. He meets three teenagers, Yu Narukami (the silent protagonist) and two of his classmates, who stumble across the strange realm while investigating the unusual deaths transpiring in their town. After Teddie accuses them of putting people into the TV World to die, Yu promises to find the culprit behind the murders. As they get closer to revealing the truth about the case, Teddie learns more about his mysterious origins.
Teddie provides the members of the Investigation Team with special glasses that enable them to see through the fog that shrouds the TV World. He also supports the party in battle by helping the team identify enemy strengths and weaknesses and by keeping tabs on the party's present condition. After Teddie is confronted by his Shadow, a physical manifestation of his inner struggles over not knowing where he came from, he awakens his Persona, a similar manifestation of his inner strength, Kintoki-Douji. As a result, Teddie becomes a playable member of the party.
Teddie's appearance is that of a very cartoonish bear costume that is empty on the inside. Teddie oftentimes acts as the comic relief and is prone to making bear-related puns, even in the heat of battle. He also frequently flirts with the female party members with very little success.
In Persona 4 Arena, Teddie appears to be the mastermind behind the P-1 Grand Prix tournament that pits friends against each other. "General Teddie" goads the members of the reunited Investigation Team into fighting one another with illusions and mind tricks that target the more sensitive aspects of their personalities. It eventually becomes apparent that the General is not really Teddie, but if that's the case, where is the real Teddie?
Ok, I hope that'll do it. This is getting beary Teddie-ous. Confound it all, I'm starting to type like him! But yeah, I hope people who read this consider giving the game a shot, it's one of my top three favorite JRPGs. Persona 4 Golden for the Vita is the version you should get as they added a lot of extra content to it, but if the Vita is too far outside your price range, the PS2 version sells for under $20 on Amazon and even comes packaged with a soundtrack CD with most of the best tracks from the game (hint hint, wink wink). Thanks for the feedback everyone.

A lot of the villains from Super Paper Mario are pretty hilarious, whether it's their dialogue or, in some cases, what they do in battle.
for example. Also.is outright hilarious. -

Alright, that should do it.

I took everyone's suggestions into account, and made some adjustments of my own. Not sure if my brief and very general explanation for what a Persona is (as far as simply playing the game is concerned) will be satisfactory. And just for the purposes of those in this thread, I linked a video of the first boss encounter in the game, with most of the build up beforehand and what happens immediately after the fight. It's very early in the game so it's not much of a spoiler. It might help make it easier to offer feedback once you have a feel for how each character acquires their Persona.

Ah, I guess I should've waited. Well, I kept the specifics related to it vague enough. I can change it back if that's for the best. I think I will leave in the details of Teddie becoming playable later on though, the game doesn't make much of a secret of that detail.

Well, I thought that was in the spoiler ballpark so I was hesitant to include it, but I can add that in if you want.

Teddie bio:
A mysterious bear who inhabits the TV World, Teddie (known as "Kuma" in the original Japanese version) carried on with his solitary existence in peace, until someone from the human world started throwing people through television sets into Teddie's world to die. Soon, Teddie meets Yu Narukami (the silent protagonist), Yosuke Hanamura, and Chie Satonaka who fell into the TV World, and after a series of events, befriends them. Teddie provides Yu and his friends with special glasses that enable them to see through the fog that shrouds the TV World. He also serves the group as their first support character in battles against the deadly Shadows that roam the dungeons, helping the team identify enemy strengths and weaknesses and keeping tabs on the party's present condition.
Teddie's appearance is that of a very cartoonish bear costume that is empty on the inside. After awakening to his persona, Kintoki Douji, Teddie becomes a playable member of the party, passing the role of support character to Rise Kujikawa, and specializes in recovery and high-power ice magic. Teddie oftentimes acts as the comic relief and is prone to making bear-related puns, even in the heat of battle. He also frequently flirts with the female party members with very little success.
As Yu's Investigation Team draws closer to uncovering the truth of the killer throwing people into the TV World, Teddie strives to learn more about his mysterious origins and what the TV World really is.
In Persona 4 Arena, Teddie appears to be the mastermind behind the P-1 Grand Prix tournament that pits friends against each other. Also, some of the game appearance information already listed in his bio page is incorrect. The original Persona 4 was for the Playstation 2, not the Xbox 360. And Persona 4 Arena was also on the Playstation 3 alongside the Xbox 360 version.

1) Vyse (Skies of Arcadia)
2) Proto Man (Mega Man)
3) Travis Touchdown (No More Heroes)

I can write a bio for Teddie from Persona 4 if no one else is already on it.

I'm glad someone brought up the Skies of Arcadia Legends Gamecube port. It's the only version of the game I ever played, so I'm grateful it was even made because it's a truly great RPG. One of my top five favorite 3D RPGs. But it's such a shame the audio quality suffered so much.
Already been mentioned but the PSone ports of FFIV-VI and Chrono Trigger on the Anthologies and Chronicles collections. Load times and audio issues mostly, but Final Fantasy V suffered the worst with that absolutely horrendous translation.
I'm probably going to be in the minority here, but I do not like to play Ocarina of Time on the 3DS. Holding the 3DS while playing that game makes my hands cramp up for starters. I don't really like the control layout for it and I've accidently turned off the 3DS by mistake twice while playing because I was so used to using a button to access the equipment menu. The graphics overhaul looks great, but I do not like playing the game.

Well, I do make my own Let's Plays, presently going through Final Fantasy IV (thanks for the plug, OA). My commentary has been improving over the course of this game in particular and I try to be both entertaining and informative as I feel those are the most important qualities to anyone doing a Let's Play.
My favorite Let's Player is HCBailly. He does RPGs and goes to great lengths to reveal strategies or secrets, sometimes even glitches like the extra Crystal of Darkness in FFIV. He's also pretty entertaining. I learned a lot about Final Fantasy IV and V that I ended up implimenting into my own Let's Plays of those games from watching his videos.

Congrats you two!

A very short, but very sweet take on the title theme to Persona 4 Arena. I loved the sax usage in the second half. This arrangement would fit right in with one of the live Persona concerts. Here's hoping this leads to more Persona 4 ReMixes down the road, Arena or otherwise.

I finally finished listening to the album and to say that I was impressed with it would be an understatement. I remember a time when OCR would release a three or more disc long album and I would maybe only keep between a quarter to half of the tracks on my computer after listening to the whole thing. I don't see that happening with this album, the whole thing is just that solid. It really shows how much OCR has grown and just how high the bar has been raised on quality arrangements.
Thank you very much everyone involved for all the work you've put into this album.

Happy Birthday, OCR! Here's to the site that provides about a third of all the music on my hard drive. Looking forward to many more years.

While I'm sadly not presently playing P4G due to lack of Vita, I do wholeheartedly approve of any effort to get music from Persona 3 or 4 given the OCR treatment.

I remember this track from the voting competition from a few months back (or however long ago it was). I have to say, after hearing this track and his Mt. Koltz arrangement on the first disc of the FFVI album, if XPRTNovice wasn't on my radar before, he definitely has my attention now. Awesome job all around.
