  1. How about Freya's theme? It's one of my favorites in FF9.
  2. Me and a friend made a Minecraft flash cartoon. You guys might enjoy it! Minecraft Documentary: The Journey of Greenfeet on Newgrounds (and )
  3. I played the Wii game 'Kirby's Epic Yarn" recently.. and on top of being a cute and charming game, I was surpised on the quality of the music. Kirby's Epic yard OST on YouTube The entire soundtrack is really good, in my opinion. I think many of these songs have good remix potential. Here are some I enjoyed: Fountain Gardens Rainbow Falls Outer Rings Lava Landing Maybe some of you will fins something you like there!
  4. I think it's time to get some album art all up in here.
  5. I agree thats since Chrono Symphonic was so specific on what it was, OCR could use another CT album and it wouldn't feel repetitive.
  6. I believe "Lucid Dreaming" is one of the best OCR albums to be released in a good while... and I say that as someone who wasn't very familiar with the soundtrack before hand. More than any other album it keeps it's theme focused and not be repetitive... even while the classic "Dream's Dream" melody is repeated many times throughout. Most of the songs really do feel like you're in a dreamscape. Perfect zone out music to be sure! My favorite track on the album, just for concept alone, is "The World is Dreaming." You can tell the small but devoted "NiGHTS" fan base really care about this series because of this song. And it's the perfect compliment to the entire project. Excellent job to everyone involved! I'll be listening to this for quite awhile. And a special shoutout to my buddy AkumajoBelmont! his cover of "Dream's Dream" was hella fun. - Joseph
  7. Just a little update on this movie. Actually... a BIG update, as it was released! Although several of you messaged me about doing music, the timing didn't quite work out for this pilot episode. We ended up using our temp sounds for a couple of the music cues. We did, however, find a song we REALLY liked in the Newgrounds Audio Portal. Here is a link to the pilot episode: Pilot Episode: Human / Cyborg Relations We also released a follow up mini episode a week later, which was based on some test lines one of our voice actors sent us in. Which can be found... here: Wonders Short: Milky Ways So is this thread still relevant? A little. I've talked to the people ones who PMed me, and let them know that we WILL be needing original compositions in the future. Episode 2 is already being worked on, and we have at least one section we know we need some music. I hope you all enjoy the pilot! - Joseph
  8. Been listening to the NiGHTS soundtrack in preparation to this album. It's one of those cases where I never played the game, but the music seems pretty cool. Looking forward to it!
  9. Hello all! I thought some of you might be interested in a new animated series me and my friends have just launched the Pilot episode for. The show, animated in Flash, is called "Wonders of the Universe." It takes place on a intergalactic cruise liner with the same name... We like to think of it as "Star Trek meets the Love Boat." The pilot episode sets up the premise and introduces you to one of the series main characters... a human named Quintin Quasar. Here is a link: Pilot Episode: Human / Cyborg Relations We also released a follow up mini episode a week later, which was based on some test lines one of our voice actors sent us in. Which can be found... here: Wonders Short: Milky Ways (If none of these links work for you, I have put them on my deviantART page.. which can be found in my signature.) I hope you like the pilot! We're hard at work on episode 2... which will be more of a full fledged episode with a proper story. Enjoy! - Joseph Blanchette Oh! And here are some preview screens we released awhile back, so you can get a sneek peek of what's to come.
  10. Bumping the thread, so people will notice the open spot. Should be sending out some samples to project members pretty soon!
  11. Oh don't worry. Those aren't going on the album. They're just 2 models I did for a flash short a few years ago.
  12. If you're going to say something like that, at least say who's art it resembles. It IS enabled, and I've received PMs from people before, and about this project. Maybe you missed it?
  13. I had this on loop for about 20 minutes yesterday. Lets hope this is the first in many FF13 remixes on OCR! The game really did have a excellent soundtrack.
  14. Here's my orc shaman... which I've been playing since the original game: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/gilneas/asciran/advanced Eagerly awaiting the Firelands raid!
  15. Thanks! Excellent question. We've all been doing flash movies for years, and its mainly been a hobby. With this effort we defiantly want to push ourselves to make something special. And I know we all would love for it to be seen by a wider audience. We're really hoping we can pump out episodes fairly quickly to keep momentum going! (which is really easy to loose in Flash with only a few people)
  16. UPDATE 6/30/11 Just a little update on this movie. Actually... a BIG update, as it was released! Episode 2 is already being worked on, and we have at least one section we know we need some music. I hope you all enjoy the pilot! Original post: Hello all! Over the past several months, me and some friends of mine (under the team name Toonwerks) have been working on a ongoing animated series (done in Flash) called “Wonders of the Universe.” It’s about a Space Cruise Liner and it’s crew, and it’s centered around a human named Quintin Quasar. If you want to read about it you can go here: Wonders of the Universe Preview But long story short we’re pitching it as “Love Boat meets Star Trek.” So its a light hearted comedy that'll have adventures in space. We’re very excited about it! Look... Pictures! I did the character art, in case anyone was wondering. Animation for the pilot, and a short to accompany it, is getting closer and closer to wrapping up. We’ve set a deadline at the end of June for outselves. (Because the animator is going on a trip and it would be nice to have it wrapped up by then.) So in typical fashion, we’ve kinda overlooked the MUSIC. We knew we wanted to do some original tunes, like our previous movie “Legend of the Black Book.” (Found here) Unlike that movie though, its much shorter and is designed to be episodic, and we wanted it to me a much more "official" part of the show. So this is what we’re looking for for the first episode and beyond: 1) A main Theme. We want something memorable that can be used and Incorporated with other music in the series. This is a space adventure, so it should feel as such! A obvious comparison to make would be something like the Star Trek theme... either the original series or next Generation. We’ll need several seconds of unique score for some specific moments. (it can, and probably should, incorporate the main theme) 2) Ambiance: We need some quiet music, and space ship sounds, to play when appropriate. (such as characters talking) There are a few robot characters to, so it would be nice to have some sound to them to. (like beeps and boops) 3) Orchestration and electronic style. We imagine these 2 will be best suited for the movies. 4) Commitment! We plan this series to be ongoing, and we have several episodes planned out. So if you want to help, you’ll be part of the “Wonders” team. This means you can’t be lazy if the movie needs something! 5) This is not paid work. But you will receive a cut of any revenue it makes on Newgrounds.com via ads or if it wins any awards. We're doing this for fun and for free to entertain people, and the same should apply to whoever does the music. We understand our planned deadline is a little over a month away, and we definitely don’t want this to feel rushed.... but we think its doable for what we need for the first episode. If any of you think you can write a memorable theme for the series, plus a few hooks, and are interested in scoring music for future episodes, then please drop me a line! You can send me a PM, or reach me at: e-mail (josephblanchette - at - gmail.com), AIM (brimfiremortis) or MSN (josephblanchette - at - live.com). Make sure to include samples of excising work! Thanks in advance! - Joseph (and the rest of the Toonwerks team)
  17. "Water Ruin" is also a standout piece. I'm also a fan of "Rith Essa" personally. Heck.. the entire soundtrack is great. Makes me wish there was a OCR album of it so bad. In fact... When I decided to organize my own Remix project, JFG was on my list of potential soundtracks. (I even made a mock up album cover for kicks) But since this was my first time doing anything music related, and I'm not a musician myself, I decided to start small and stated the Warcraft project. Maybe when that starts to wind down and I get to know more remixers here, I can help lead the charge on JFG!
  18. I'm giving this topic a friendly bump. I've been personally wondering how remix friendly this music is. My worry is that its to full of sweeping scores, so its almost like remixing the "Star Wars" soundtrack.. but only the action scenes.
  19. I know the art is something thats not important until way later, but I can possibly help with the album cover. Like possibly something like this but with my drwing style. ( which is this http://legendaryfrog.deviantart.com/gallery/ )
  20. I know things can move a bit slowly on this board, so I'll post this now rather than later. Since I can't help with the music on the album, I spent some time designing the cover art for the album. A bit early I know... but it was fun to do! And now I don't have to do it later and be rushed. But one thing I knew from the start is that I wouldn't be able to draw the actual characters for it. So I figured it wouldn't hurt to do ask for some volunteers. I'll be making this request both here and on the my deviantART page. This is the what I'm working with for the album cover: Notice the question marks? Thats where you come in! This is what I'm looking for: 1) I want this to mimic a few classic Warcraft concepts. One is the apposing Orc and Human seen in the WC1 and 2 box art. In this case, a Grunt http://www.wowpedia.org/Grunt and a Footman http://www.wowpedia.org/Footman ... who are both ironic Warcraft units. I'm not sure if they should be a close up headshot like the old game covers, or full body shots. Likewise I don't know if they'll be posing or just standing there. 2) I want it to be similar to the Warcraft II menus. Meaning, it'll be like concept art displayed on the page. This can be digital or on paper, but it needs to look sketchy. http://talk.maemo.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=11505&stc=1&d=1277644928 3) It should to fit the Warcraft of Warcraft style. This means a more "westernized" look, and not cartoony or anime. When I was designing the cover I was using this picture as a placeholder: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/media/artwork/wow-wrath?keywords=&view#/death-knight02 I'm not saying it has to match the level of Blizzard's artist 100%, but I want it to have the same feel. As always, if you think you can fit these, you can send me a PM, or send me a IM at any of the addresses below. AIM: BrimfireMortis MSN: josephblanchette -at-live.com Yahoo: morits765 (I don't really use this often) E-Mail / Google Talk josephblanchette -at- gmail.com I'm going to be picky for what I ultimately choose, but that doesn't mean I can't include alternate versions. So if you have other ideas, you can pitch them to me. Thanks all!
  21. I randomly remembered I have like.. 2000 Wii points not being used. I should download DKC3 on the VC and complete my collection.
  22. I decided that having more traditionally remixed songs on the album would kinda ruin the feel I'm going for. HOWEVER! I think the bonus track Fishy is going to do is appropriate for it, because Blizzard tends to do similar stuff in their own soundtracks and games. What is it? Why... its a secret!
  23. I'm not really sure how those last 3 really fit into Metroid.. especially "The Coming Sun." Unless I'm missing a piece of the lore. A couple ideas: Chronicles of a Galactic Bounty Hunter Samus Aran vs The Universe
