  1. You DARED to desecrate Zero Hamlet?!?

meh... I'm sure Stevo and David are miffed about that.

I HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT, by the way (just to be safe...)

I see their point though. Zero city was way underused. the only thing it was used for was the spawn house, and the capital building.Other than Lawson's Zero City rail station, there was nothing there.

  2. Whelp, I'm trying to play through the minecraft.net browser window, but I can't seem to reverse-engineer the 1.7.2 minecraft jar to play nice.

(to be fair, I am playing from a 3rd party computer, with access to my minecraft bin files)

In other news, OCAD seems to be down again, but that may just be 1.7.3 being a [explicit], er, pain in the ass

  3. Just beat it this week, it's really awesome.

Well, hard to explain what I loved without any spoil so I'll only say that : if you like Zelda series and/or want to imagine what could be the 1.8 adventure system, play it.

Yup. So far, a good game.

  4. Currently, I am looking for a soundfont (or maybe a synth) that can recreate the sound of a Tesla coil. Preferably a soundfont.

I am sure that we have all at least heard of people using tesla coils to play (not so) small melodies just by adjusting pulse frequencies, coil power, blah blah blah etc. I am hoping to find something that can reproduce this.

Does anyone know where to find such a soundfont?

  5. The dubstep section, i don't know an awful lot about dubstep but that just sounded like the tune with synths - the drums didn't change into the characteristic dubstep half-time triplet type thing and there wasn't any wobble. It was all quite clean which I don't think is characteristic of dubstep. i found that section quite boring as well.

Hey! It's nice to see this on OCR!

Yeah, this section isn't really dubstep... It's more like a blend of techno and trance, not really dubstep at all.

If you want to, you can make two seperate songs- one metal, and the other would be teh synth part.

Are you familiar with dubstep shawn?

  6. In the meantime, the minecraft forums seem to be down due to a Curse Network issue. According to Curse, it could be 5 more hours before the forums are usable again...

That means 5 more hours before I can try this Zelda Adventures...

EDIT: aaaaand the OCAD server is still down.

Level 99 can you fix pleaz?

  7. I got just about as many sfx as I do instruments so there is a lot of fun and creativity to be had with this soundfont.

(on a side note, percussion is on around middle c.)

hmm... shouldn't you try to orient this into a position somewhat similar to the GM standard for percussion i.e. drumset around C3, orchestral percussion starting around G4, etc?

I think this would be easier (for me, that is) instead of picking around middle C for the right sounds.

... In fact, I think I will open this up in Viena and work on it...

    tommorow.

  8. Exchange info or something so you can really get the time to to talk to eachother on an instant message service or something. It really would help to benefit the discussion and flow of creativity anyway.

See three or so posts down

I'm also going to start doing some heavy recruiting once I have everything solid!

    Awesome

I don't wanna seem like a jerk or like I'm squashing your fun but I also don't want to get this closed down.

You're not sounding like a jerk. I noted on this about three or four posts ago.

So, when you get your story idea finalized, are you going to post it in the first post, or would you instead PM it to all active members of this project? (Which wouldn't officially mean me yet...)

    Can't wait!

  9. Oh, dear...I just looked at overlooked remix, and...umm...no.

Gario, it was a good suggestion in theory, but I don't think I want to be affiliated with them. They look like a bunch of trolls. Now I may be wrong, but out of what I have seen on their website, it just doesn't look like a community I would want to be a part of.

    9 out of 10 it's probably not...

I don't know what the fanbase of OLR is - for that you would have to ask Xenon Odyssey, but I am almost sure it's less than that of OCR.

And for that matter, if/when your song makes it, then there would be less people listening for it if it was on OLR than if the Judges pass it here.

  10. Whoah! No way man. I hate drugs.

It must be NZ slang. It means to play guitar or any instrument outside stores.

People give money if you play well. Wow.

I've never heard that response before, scared me heavily. Heh

okay. well, I live in a rural area, so there aren't that many street corners to play on. Also, people will just look at you, listen for a while, then pass on.

Sorry about the drug comment, heh. It just goes to show how I'm ready to expect anything from anyone I don't know too well...

Back on topic: Do you have any ideas for the lyrics, based off of Daisy's death scene?

EDIT: Just realized that the echo you were talking about was the delay- it has a bad habit of remembering whatever it was applying it's effect to, so if it is stopped abruptly, it replays this memory delay back into the playback- even during song rendering.

other than that, the delay's fine

  11. My Line 6 UX2 recognises every DAW.

    I'm sure I won't need Mixcraft.

    ok...

    what about .mx5 files?

The reason I ask is because I didn't record a single note of the song- it's all done by virtual instruments, and I used mixcraft-only virtual instruments except for Revitar 2.0, which I used for the guitar parts and the power chord riff in the chorus

This was why I asked, not for simplicity (okay, yes for simplicity), but also (in theory) that you could look to see how the other person worked each instrument to make the product, or to see what the added/changed, i.e. in a collab

  12. Not to be a bother, but

how about you go and Download a free trial of MixCraft 5. This will make the file sending easier, and you can see what part is what. It's a 14-day trial, and when the trial ends, the only limitation will be that you can't render to an MP3 or burn a cd (but I have ways around that, obviously).

Another plus is that I only used one vst that isn't supplied by Mixcraft, but it's freeware, so I can probably send it without issue.
