  1. MIXCRAFT 6 IS OUT

I know that there are some people who use Acoustica Mixcraft 5 or 6, so I wanted to post this thread as a MX5 help thread, or a thread for general discussion.

If you use Mixcraft 5 or higher and need help, just ask.

If you use Mixcraft 5+ and can answer anyone's questions, or just want to give general pointers, feel free to do so.

    Cheers,

    ~Anorax

  2. I'm in the same boat... I wanna punch my computer because not only am I not improving but Mixcraft's lack of memory keeps crashing any of my projects with 10 or more tracks. -_-

Mixcraft Memory issues? Never had that one (ok, I guess I have, CPU load issues - use the Freeze Track command Ctrl+F)... Hmm.

About "not improving", just work at it. Believe it or not, an absolute great way to organize Mixcraft is to change the track names to whatever they are used for. Say, if I have several instances of the same VSTi open, it does well for me to rename the track to something completely different. Try naming the tracks to something that describes the sound of that track.

Also, work with the Automation lane. It's a great thing to use.

  3. I started a while back. When you're a kid/angsty teen you just don't give a damn and practicing anything is a chore.

    This^

I guess I'm somewhere in one of the dozen or so processes Zircon said he went through. My music still sucks, I have no idea what my attitude about it is (I'm sure the judges would laugh in my face if it wasn't for the fact that they are nice), because I've never posted.

it's been about a year and a half since I downloaded Mixcraft 5. It took me about 3 weeks to learn what the quantize did.

From the start, I've basically ignored effects. Now I know they are really important to the overall quality of your work. I'm still working on improving, but not all paths are straight and smooth.

  4. So I made a roller coaster. Some of my friends and I just run what's essentially a creative mode server (technically multiplayer survival, but no mobs and everyone can spawn materials and fly).

I think it's one of the greatest things I shall ever produce in my lifetime. Shame it only works once.

I applaud you sir. You have spunk.

  5. I like to just start up new games and see what appears. This one, though, may be a sign.

So, I spawn, and I start walking.. East, I think, it's hard to tell, the game is somewhat foggy despite me settings... weather effect? Any way, after about thirty seconds, I come across this.

I didn't make that. That was there when I spawned. It has a fully furnished interior with a workbench, and the well has water in it. Even the little garden is starting to go to seed.

This is definitely one of the top coolest things I've found since the big update.

    Agreed.

NPC Villages are tha bomb. Can't wait for the actual NPCs to be added

EDIT: How do you eat?!?!? Gaah I hate new controls/computer-issues/whatever-it-is

  6. Okay, I think it's done. I don't exactly understand how to make the background music "not static".

Make it dynamic. It's static when the same thing loops over and over with the same instruments. Nothing changes, hence, "static." If something changed, like if you change the arrangement somewhat on the background part, or made instruments switch parts, then it would be dynamic.

  7. Friendly reminder: it is ALWAYs a good idea to make a backup of you minecraft bin folder, but especially the minecraft.jar, just to save it for a rainy day aka you update and realize no other servers are running the updated version of minecraft.

  8. Oooh, look what I found today!

    mining.jpg

It's some sort of abandoned mining facility, complete with train tracks and torches, chests with items, and even some of the old miners. But they must have been minig lots of coal, because they were all black. Bastards kept following me, too, so I just ran for it.

Those miners didn't happen to be tall... and slender... did they? O.O

Also, lol Hylian I doubt that that's a mine...

  9. because, you know, i haven't gone to every link for "set java parameters", "set java parameters minecraft", "increase available memory java", "increase hash size java", etc.

i have done everything told to me and nothing ever changes in-game.

Couldn't you make a .bat that launches Minecraft with an extended memory in a similar way that there is a command to run a MC server with extended memory?

EDIT:Well, it appears that on the OCAD server at least, teleporting to the Nether has it's own risks...
