The part id like comment about starts at 1.25 and ends at 1.35. Can anyone comment on the way is should mix this for some raw dubstep sounds (the kick vs wobble bass vs snare). Comments on instrument choice and usage also welcome. As you can hear im used to producing fluffy puffy songs.

    Pretty good.

The electric pino could use some cut in mids. The lfo baseline could use some high end boost (imo)

The mixing levels don't seem tight, it feels like some sounds are coming at you at the same time and volume,

The snare could be louder, and the kick should be on of the loudest things in your mix

    My small opinions

  2. I probably wouldn't download it if it was free, just being honest, but i think you'd get a lot more interest in this album if it was freely available for people to download, especially since 99% of the people here probably don't know who you are and you don't have a mix posted on OCR yet. :-D My page of derails in your thread was my way of making this thread interesting so people would see it and possibly hear your stuff. THAT'S WORTH MULTIPLE CHEESY NACHOS. Just sayin'. Anyway good luck.

Thank you on the fourm tip!

I don't really want to even make these track downloadable (or for sale really), but if anyone really wants the track they can go ahead with the 50 cent option. I'm still in a limbo with a few people on releasing : (

But it would appear that I get most of my plays from my youtube links, so I will try to whip my track in sony vegas for upload!

  3. Tracks will be up for $.99 on bandcamp tomorrow (in other words no, you cannot have a download)

  4. Cool, some Bomberman 64 music! Nice rhythm with the guitars, definitely has more energy than the original.

I also think the drums need some work. They sound a bit sloppy, in particular the hi-hats. Sometimes the chords sound muffled under the guitars. Maybe you can include the arpeggio that's at the beginning too.

    thanks guys

I just sped up some random hat loop. I'll use drum hi hats on final.

for the kick and snare, I think I copied the same pattern used in the original.

I will make the brass louder : )

  5. Delete the Cubase prefs folder. It's located in:

    C:\Users\*username*\AddData\Roaming\Steinberg

You'll see a Cubase 5 (or whatever version you're using) folder in there, delete that. It'll reset your Cubase install to the way it was when you clean installed it, that means it'll remove all your settings and customizations (including VST paths). It'll also cause Cubase to reset itself completely and is the first step in diagnosing serious problems with it.

Tried that, Im thinking its my processor on this temporary pc. Its running a celeron (since I only make music, program and draw on this pc), and im sure I got lucky on even getting this daw to start up on this single core computer

Maybe I will switch to my main computer, but I really wanted to wait so I get a better power supply and mother board for my i7 : ( ehh, I start the big switch

  6. As a friend of mine put it the other day,

"Worry about your art, not your pride. If it sounds good, it sounds good."

    This friend says the truth!

unless it's unicorns, then sound like unicorns XD

I recently began using pitch correction on my voice because I was going for a more electronic/synth feel for my new record, and it should only be used as a tool, not an effect that apparently "makes your voice sound better". I use it to help my voice, rather than to make it sound completely digital, which I hate. Unless it's to give like a robotic feel or something, overdose of autotune is ridiculous to me. Again, I believe it should only be used as a tool, and in specific circumstances. My previous record had no autotune except for one song, I believe, and that was because my voice wasn't doing well on that song and it was sort of appropriate. Lots of the songs on the record had a more acoustic feel, and therefore I wanted everything to have a more natural sound.

And by the way, I'm very 80s and 90s-ish. :D Especially the 90s.

Yup, all tools have a purpose and all tool can make or break an artist!
