  1. Subdivisions in music are a bit of a beefage of mine. Look at metal. The music inspires lower brain activity for sure and you can see evidence of that by looking at all the loosely defined divisions of metal. People like to draw lines and say what is and what isn't.

I'll listen to anything that's not dumb-chick-dumb-chick-dumb-chick for 20 minutes.

Sorry I was really hoping to contribute here but it didn't come out that way. Take down the lines and everybody hug/punch each other. Whatever works for you.

Yes im still adding the main diffrences on the subs after I post examples, just not now because im working on there things. but good point

  2. Emphasis mine. That's a small list? Common genres? :P Also, Jump by VanHalen is hardly a genre.

Better than a controlled genre thread, just post cool tracks of similar styles/genre with a different style/theme for each post. Just a thought.

I will emphasis what I mean in one min when I get back from the super market.

Yes thats a good idea to show examples (when I wake um in the morning (1;09am Fri)

I could not classify jump :(

A small list of common sub genres with out having to look to far, and it is a music board so why not show some examples of diffrent types of music

For the people who can't choose and look for examples on video sites.

    Sort of that too!

  3. Please post common genres with sub gernes so people can try all sorts of new things and experiment, but please dont post sub catagories for sub catagories, keeping the list tight.

  4. Thanks guys!

I had a meeting about the lead actually, and everyone said increase highs, and not boost mids like it did so im leaving it (actually I might cut mids of theres a version 2).

the fart sounds are golden (tho nobody brung in up in the meeting :P)

I'll add a section but not now, I would need more ideas ;p I wanted it to be as repetitive as the skrillex version to be dj friendly.

  5. Oké. This is DIRTY!

There are some things that bothered me in there. There is a fart like sound in the right pan and this is annoying. It's repetetive and useless. It goes nowhere. And the drop is weird. I would kick on the same time the bass comes in. Otherwise the bass is dirty and sexy. This is skrillex or near skrillex dirty style. 2 different ways and both are good. So I give none of the 2 any points. You're both awesome :).

Edit: And at 1:41 I hope this is no voluntary. Cause the beat goes nowhere and is not as awesome as the dubstep one :P

that sound is the same bass, maybe to much high end, but still no eqing yet.

or you mean the intro sound?

    Thanks on the feedback!

If you guys listen hard, the bass is (Trying to) saying "red coins" and "Get the coins", im not trying to trip anybody out :o.

  6. I record my rock songs (sometime, rarely now) to tape because they sound warmer for some reason, I can put my finger on it but I just love the sound it makes.

which reminds me to find a Adat LX20 after I get my amp :P (that was random)

  7. Yup! and I thought I would give you guys 2 things to play around with.

    whoa...what that?

A tutorial song on how I make hedgog errr I mean complexto electro house for you guys who wonder what its all about! (ABLETON LIVE ONLY SORRY PEOPLE)

I did made this quick little tut with samples of my own patches and common patches that come with drum sample kits!

Second is a quick (repetitive) metal...or actually I just call it a guitar practice mix (For all! its wav. and midi files only ;)

.http://www.mediafire.com/?v3m8c98r8mmr2ge (Error in track bouncing for guitar mix, I will Fix it and upload a new file, ignore the guitar mix file in this download folder)

http://www.mediafire.com/?j8w47ce41lxlly1 (Guitar Prac Mix) you will need a guitar sim and some sort of drum sampler like Ez,FPC, or Superior drums.

Its not much but its something. I will modify this post to it has some of my dirty synths I use for sylenth, absynth, fm8 and massive. (but not the exotic ones, I will only make those avalible on my twitter and other fourms

    Happy holidays people!
