  1. People dont realize how functional ipads can be for music. The split screen is great for interapp functions and recording apps are getting better with each update.

How i use mind is to use Studiomux to send midi and audio over the charging cable which effectively makes my ipad into a vst host. Sure i cant save presets with projects or automate easily, but  im getting softsynths by big names like korg, waldorf and moog for a price that cant be beat.

Another great use is to use them as transport controllers. I have the touchable app that turns my ipad into a multitouch controller for ableton. Its like an ableton push but more versatile and costs about the same. I cant check emails or watch tutorials on a push though ;)

When you consider the dropping cost of ipads these days. Theyre worth taking seriously, and im glad I'm not the only one who uses one!

p.s. Sugar bytes released a bunch of their popular fx vsts as apps for a fraction of the cost.

  2. I got a volca fm for my birthday and im trying to decide if its worth trading for a volca keys. I want to do ambient style mixes and jams so if i can find some solid ambient patches for the fm then ill keep it

So tldr, what are some solid ambient patches for the dx7 that i can import into the volca? Likewise, where can i find some decent dx7 patches.

  3. Im probably one of the people who put down a vague answer, maybe too late but here are a few options.

    chocolates

    usb to lightning adapter

    psn or steam credit

    35mm film or developing chemicals

Any of the pocket operator synths other than the arcade model.

    Good nuff

Forgot to add a comment for Esperado's Bonus.  So I'll do it now.  11/10 super sexy; if "Freezecannon" had a physical manifestation I'd take it out for dinner and do to it like they do on the discovery channel.  It is a feast for the ears with a vibrant atmosphere and tons of reverby love.

Glad you enjoyed it! nice  reference there. Good round!

Edit: i just realized the freeze beam is indeed in super metroid. Wtf, better go play it again.

Finished my alt track. Not sure how I feel about it, but it fits the theme better, I think. I'll submit it in a few.

remember, you can work on it as long as you want to, so long as its under the deadline. Maybe experiement with some fx, or make sure the mixing is just right? up to you, but It can't hurt.

Well since I'm still working on the last part of a song I figured a quick break from that might help a bit. Already, submitted my entry, though like an idiot I left silence in the end because recording is weird. Still love Super Metroid with its just completely off the wall weird but fantastic soundtrack.

You can always edit it and resubmit!

I've played Ultima IV maybe halfway through on the PC. Still I feel like trying out the NES version of this game, just to see how much it differs from the western Ultima experience (that I'm no expert of). It might be an interesting link between early western RPGs and JRPGs.

I played that same ultima! I can definitely say that ultima exodus is a bit different in terms of graphical quality and depth of the gameplay. I find ultima 4 to be more fun and a while still challenging, its more reasonable in terms of enemy leveling.
