Attempt 3 Well I like the vibe I got goin'. Bass sounds better now IMO. Added in a pad effect at one part where I think I'll play a little guitar solo over. Changed up drums a bit. I'm gonna replace this one section with an original part.......later. Sounding better or worse? Probably worse but hey, stranger things have happened.

I'm jamming along right now and guitar would be SICK in this. However, my stupid mic won't work with windows 7 for some reason. I've tried almost every solution google has put forth and no progress. I plan to buy a Shure and an interface asap though so I'll throw in some guitars when I get that. Yeah to hell with boobass. As for strings, I'd KILL for EWQL's strings. I know a guy who has a keyboard with some good strings............but good luck getting that lol.

Make kick softer, fix rhythm, try to get better snare. Okay That thing has been giving me issues with volume. I'll fix that. No but I can try some distortion and other effects plus velocity edits like you say and see what happens. Highly unlikely I have the skillz to get it good enough. I'll deviate from the source anyway though. =( Bottom Line. I'll try to resolve this shit.

New attempt I tried to make that one synth more aggressive sounding. Screwed with the EQs more to try to get it right but I highly doubt I did. Layered two snares but I can't tell if it's any improvement.....kick is weak. Lowered volume of bass as well. Can't add in guitars anyway as mics not working. My understanding is to kill un-needed bass frequencies in the guitar. Which I do anyways. Overall it's still an apocalyptically bad mix. But I wanna hear yur lead you made.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Osc Sync carnival is one of my favorites from GX too, Infinite Blue probably tops it though IMO. I want a more agressive rhythm section, yet want the melodies to have a more mellow feel. If that makes any sense. Like I say, I have some heavy guitar parts written which I think once I get those recorded will make a big difference. I'm also playin around with the synths trying to get more suitable tones. I really wanna know how I can make these drums sound bigger and more "in your face" though.

Love this soundtrack. I'm sure I'll wind up changing some tones etc. in the end. Right now this is mostly just a cover but I plan to add in some original parts. I'll also do some guitars for it. The teleporting characters have become soooo predictable. 90% of the time they go behind you, if you're in the corner they'll usually wind up above you. I think every Dante player ever in this game uses the same strategy. That move where he teleports to the air above you and brings the sword down on yur skull. Playing some people I swear this is ALL they know how to do with him.....that one combo that starts with that sword move.

Yeah, I'm gonna scrap this mix. I could add more midrange instrument like guitar and what not but here's the thing. Vocal track is cluttered with noise like static and acoustic guitar. If I were to make a more serious mix, I'd ask her to record her cover again, without backing track and better mics. I think the mic she has in the video is just from her camera. Like I said, this was more for fun. Soon........ssooon I shall have my interface and better mics and better computer!!! Like, possibly tomorrow for the computer. and trust me, this album her and I shall create will blow your fucking tits off with astonishment. I won't rest until it is as close to perfect as possible. No this isn't a serious remix. Something I'm working on for fun. I already got musicians and what not for the metal thing, I play guitar. I tried creating some other basses and leads but I found it actually didn't improve it once it got too techno XD I kinda want a disco vibe. I also can't seem to remove the back ground noise. Oh and about using "her music". That song she's singing is by "City and Colour". So I'm sure she's in the same copyright boat.

So I'm working with this girl to do a hard rock/metal type album. She doesn't know I've posted this yet, not sure what she'll think. She recently started posting videos of her singing to youtube and I thought I'd do a remix of her most recent one and show it to her. Scared shitless to know what she'll think of it. I don't know why but tonight I was totally in the freakin' ZONE with this game. Not that I was doing good, I was getting destroyed but I was having a shitload of fun. Except I did kick ass at one part. Felicia is just too damn awesome. Now, whenever I know I'm going to lose, I just rapidly press taunt. "Let's Let's Le- Let's L- Let's GO!" Sometimes the opponent just stops and goes "Wtf?".....which gives me ample time to strike.
