Does Monster Hunter 3 count as an RPG? I love this song: Its an action RPG technically. I can keep looking for something else if need be! *EDIT: This song is gosh darn adorable. While I'd love to do the Monster Hunter one, this is a good backup choice if its not allowed.

I've had a bunch of music to do for school, so its been hard to get a start on my mix this week I have a short little bit just to get the ball rolling, and I should have some time a little later this week to really hammer it out. Dunno how it'll shape up but I've got some ideas! I'll get around to voting for this week soon too. There are some sweet mixes and tough choices again!

OCRI-0001 - Audio Engineering: A Tribute to Cid

I should get back into doing rock remixes. I think this was the last one I did way back when I finished it. I've still got a lot to learn about rock mixing, and I should definitely practice guitar more, but this was a fun project to work on regardless. Erryone else has some really awesome sounding mixes, great work! Yayyy! -
Aw crap Arrow got the one town theme I want Mechanical Kingdom is a beautiful track. I may have a look through these at some point soon, or find another suitable town theme. I loves me some town themes.

Dunno if I'd end up watching the show, but the game has be somewhat intrigued. Since its being developed by a new studio I don't really have any expectations yet. I'm interested to see how well they execute the exploration aspect. It seems much more open world than recent Sonic games, and if each character has their own abilities to make exploring unique for each of them then that could add a lot of replay value. If the multiplayer is integrated really well that would be awesome too, I'd love some good coop action. We shall see how it turns out as more info comes out for it, for now I will also remain cautiously optimistic.

I haven't played in a bit because I've been busy with other stuff, but I did play a little bit right before it went into open Beta. Really simple to learn card game with a surprising amount of strategic depth. I kind of wish they had a few different Warcraft heroes for each class, maybe with slightly different class abilities, but I guess they've got lots of heroes in card form. I got a gold Illidan Stormrage in my first booster pack which was pretty awesome Anyways, super fun game but I'm not the greatest at it. I need to work on levelling up Rogue and Paladin, I enjoyed those the most.

Yeah I remember us getting into a discussion about this stuff last Sonic compo. Everyone kind of has their own balance of what they listen for the most. While its agreed that arrangement, production, and enjoyability are 3 key factors, exactly how each one is weighed to the listener will differ from person to person. Since the competition is based on mixing 2 competing sources together, its certainly not wrong to prioritize the arrangement aspect! So long as errybody gets their vote on

Thanks for all the reviews errybody. I may try to post some thoughts myself, though I've tried to make that promise in the past and never delivered Sometimes I get busy! But I must say that it was a great batch of songs this week. A few raps even, which is something I initially considered for my mix Maybe another time! The drums I'm using are the Abbey Road 60s Kit from Native Instruments. It came with Komplete 7 when I got it a while back, I've been using them a lot more lately. They sound reeeeal nice, I love 'em.

My project file has been weird, for some reason there is a delay when recording. But in any other project or a new project there isn't, so no guitar in this one :'( But I've salvaged a little bit of the a capella idea I had so I'm trying to fit that in at least! Almost done with my mix now, gotta work tonight and tomorrow morning so not much time left for it anyways.

I dunno, maybe there'd be a way to take a simple VGM melody and set it in a 12-tone series or something, but I feel it would have to do something suuuper clever with the source I won't say it can't be done though. *EDIT - On topic, I feel my mix is a lot more "safe" than I wanted it to be. None of my other ideas were really catching my ear, but I may try at least a few new things in this one anyways. Should get most of it finished up tomorrow!

That's a cool way to look at it. I tend to change instruments a lot throughout before I settle, so I don't think I get too attached, though sometimes I think I do. Always interesting to think about it in a new way! I was going to try an a capella mix, but it really wasn't going well So now I've got some kinda stuff and things that are sort of coming together. Still needs a LOT more work though!
