OCR03297 - Mega Man 3 "The Jazzassin"
Jamphibious replied to Liontamer's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Absolutely love Nostalvania's style, this is definitely gonna be on my playlist for quite some time! -
Xenoblade Chronicles X so good. That robot in the lake got me too, hah. Couldn't target him so I figured it was just some relic or something. I'm a big fan of the variety of cool gear you can get even early on. I like to switch up my parties fashion gear to keep things interesting while I'm romping around Mira.

Signing in is such a chore! I'm busy working and stuff. My music PC recently decided to die but I'm gonna try to fix it this week. In my bits of spare time lately I've been trying to finish my playthrough of Persona 4 that I started ages ago. I'm pretty close!

Mega Man X: The Sigma Fortress Remix Gauntlet 2015
Jamphibious replied to DarkeSword's topic in Competitions
I didn't have anything this week either. I got all set up in a new apartment and hooked up my music PC, then after it was on for a bit it made a popping sound and won't turn on again. Wish I could have made something this round Alas, things happen. -

Hm, well considering you were talking about Star Ocean I'm surprised to see no mention of any of the Tales series games. Tales of Symphonia was probably the first huge RPG that I've actually completed more than once. All the Tales games have a battle system is very similar to Star Ocean (And the music is by Sakuraba in both series as far as I recall, which is always nice). Another interesting one is Eternal Sonata. It is pseudo-turn based as far as I remember, but it involves a lot of positioning and even aiming with ranged weapons and the like. The story is pretty whack, it's basically in Frederic Chopin's dream world or something. Characters and locations are mostly named after musical terms which is kinda cool. I don't remember many other details but it's worth a shot I'd say if you can find it somewhere for cheap.

Heart of a Gamer: A Tribute to Satoru Iwata - History
Jamphibious replied to The Damned's topic in Projects
I ended up feeling more inspired by the Dragon Warrior soundtrack (as fun as the golf one is) so I have a tiny bit started for that. I should have a concrete WIP to show you this week some time. -
Smooth as heck. Love your stuff man, always so lush and chill.

While the Gamepad is required for some initial startup, a lot of games can be played without it. You can boot up the Wii U with the Gamepad and start a game right from the quick launch screen without having to even go through the main menu, then proceed to use a different compatible controller. The Wii classic controller can be used for several games, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, and Donkey Kong being among them (There's plenty more). This way your Gamepad wont even see much use so its chance of breaking is even lower. I've moved houses a few times and taken mine places and used it for plenty of games and it has yet to malfunction on me personally.

As anyone who has played it knows, those neo green bumpers actually do change colour when you hit them. They turn yellow and then red. They become more and more chilidog coloured with each strike. When they are struck a final time, they disappear. One could assume that Sonic found them the most appetizing in their red hue and indeed ingested them. Or they're just bumpers I dunno.

Mega Man X: The Sigma Fortress Remix Gauntlet 2015

As much as I'd love to have done a real glitch-hop track, I was mostly just going for the hop Threw in a bit of wackiness just for fun though. -

Hey, I see you got that super awesome Pokémon remix! I don't think I could have done better. I got a little busy and just moved back home. But I got my music stuff set up so if you'd still like a remix for the NES golf game I can try to whip up something for ya. Sorry for the radio silence following my previous interest in the project. EDIT - orrrrrrr if Dragon Warrior is an option I could do that. Let me know what you prefer! -
New Compo Idea/Interest: Game Shift Remix
Jamphibious replied to DarkeSword's topic in General Discussion
I love the idea. A week seems fine but I get the concern of having it so short since there would be a bit more preparation involved. Bi-weekly or monthly sounds good to me, I'd probably jump in every now and then. I like the idea of having it like a PRC kind of thing so that I don't have to commit to a long term thing like the gauntlets. -
Mega Man X: The Sigma Fortress Remix Gauntlet 2015
Jamphibious replied to DarkeSword's topic in Competitions
Don't have much more time today so I'm wrapping mine up now. I had some ideas for the Sigma stuff and they didn't turn out quite as well as I had hoped. But it was a fun style to experiment with so it's all good. Best of luck to everyone, I look forward to hearing some tasty jams. *EDIT - I totally put Round 4 instead of 5 in my submission PM. I apologize -
I come and go at times. I was working a lot earlier this year, and had a pretty busy summer, but I'm posting a bit more here and working on more music again. Notably in the SFRG thinger, but I'm looking to finish up all my project commitments in the near future and work on some more original stuff to release.

Yaya, it was really tough picking a top 3! Started my mix last night, it's definitely going in an interesting direction. A bit of a new style for me, which is always fun. Hopefully it turns out okay -

I believe I posted my NID a while back but I'm not on the list. I just got Splatoon so I'd definitely like to fill out my friends list some more! My ID is AmphibiousFrog.

I just picked this up yesterday and I'm having a pretty fun time. Got to about level 7 today, and I think I've been doing pretty well. Most games I end up with one of the higher scores. Though I get pretty stomped sometimes I'm definitely itching to try the ranked stuff. If anyone wants to add me on Wii U that hasn't my Nintendo ID thing is AmphibiousFrog. Just let me know so I can add you back!

Mega Man X: The Sigma Fortress Remix Gauntlet 2015
Jamphibious replied to DarkeSword's topic in Competitions
Definitely agree with what some of y'all said regarding my track. It was pretty safe, I wish I had more time to work on it, I think I only got to spend about 5 hours or so on it. My dog got sick unexpectedly so I had my hands full for a while, but hey things happen! The guitar was a last minute addition and it wasn't too great of a take. I'll definitely try to expand on it before I try to submit it.Thanks for all the comments so far! Gonna give the tracks a listen some time tomorrow Also, I don't think I ever did metal WillRock though I've done a couple rock remixes here and there. Maybe I'll attempt that next time! -
Mega Man X: The Sigma Fortress Remix Gauntlet 2015
Jamphibious replied to DarkeSword's topic in Competitions
I usually just put the melodies over some seventh chords and call it a day. But actually my approach is similar to Sir_Nuts, I usually get a couple of different ideas for my theme in my head then hope that the other theme for my round can be used in a reasonably comfortable way. Don't be afraid to alter rhythms and fragments of the melodies to some degree. While going too liberal might not be good (as I sometimes tend to do on occasion) things don't always need to stay extremely close to the original. It can be a little easier to make a compelling and fresh take on the themes when you impose less limits on yourself. Maybe lots of people have already thought about this but I'm just throwing out some thoughts in case it helps. I'm a little sleepy so I hope I'm making sense -

I seem to have mangled the Sigma theme a bit. It's there, but definitely more liberal than I intended, aw well. Dog got sick this week which took away a chunk of my time, but I managed to finish something at least. Subbing tonight since I gotta work all day tomorrow! -
