  1. Hi, this is my first submission and my first production. Your ReMixer name: Shut Up With Me Your email address: Your userid: 33031Name of game(s) arranged: Silent Hill 1Name of arrangement: Why Won't You DieName of individual song(s) arranged: All, Die Composer: 山岡晃 System: Playstation 1 Year: 1999 Link to the original soundtrack: https://youtu.be/vpExfM_pVjM Link #1 to my remix: Link #2 to my remix: I started learning how to produce music a couple weeks before I began making this remix (starting from near-0 knowledge on the subject), and completed it in about 4 days. This was created almost completely in Ableton Live 9 Suite, with a few clips recorded using my Blue Yeti microphone, 2 knives, and a cheesegrater. Silent Hill is one of my favorite games, and the soundtrack is one of my favorite albums ever, even outside of game music. I really like the sound of the album, and I wanted to recreate it in this track. One of the challenges was deciding which instruments to make sound synthesized, which to make sound acoustic, and how far to go in either direction. I favored realism in the forefront and attempted a hellish, live-performance sound in a garage or metal crate. I hope the listener enjoys it.
  2. REMIXER INFO Remixer Name: XPRTNovice Real Name: Joe Zieja Website: http://voicesbyjoe.com REMIX INFO Games Arranged: Super Mario RPG Name of Arrangement: Dirty Nasty Mine Name of Individual Songs Arranged: Docaty Mountain Railroad https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMA1uC0bULM **This is a pre-emptive submit for the SMRPG album** Remixer Comments: So I got asked by Emery Monzerol to fill some holes in the SMRPG album, and as I was looking through the track list I saw this Docaty Mountain thing. Never having played SMRPG before, I didn't really know what I was looking at, but when I opened the track I heard what was obviously a Western bluegrassy thing. I thought, oh, okay, that'll be easy. I'll just sort of bring out the bluegrassyness of it and see what happens; I'm a bluegrass player and I can do this. Well, it turns out the easy path is the fucking boring path. I just couldn't get what I wanted out of it and I was utterly unmotivated. So, since the changes were essentially blues changes, I thought - what if I cut the source's time in half and made a blues tune out of it? And then I saw my slide sitting on my desk and though 'Oh. Oh no. This must happen.' And it did.
  3. Hello, my producer name is 'Anomaly'. I haven't done much for this site yet because I only just started doing vg remixes; almost everything else I've done is original. My forum id: 32102 My email: My YT channel: http://www.youtube.com/c/AudioAnomalyOfficial SUBMISSION INFORMATION: Game: Undertale [PC] Arr. Title: Metaphysical Orig. Titles: Gaster's Theme / CORE / Bonetrousle (Papyrus' Battle Theme) Orig. Composer: Toby Fox Link to Gaster's Theme I wanted to submit my Hopes and Dreams remix, but honestly, I figure you probably get as many submissions of that song as One-Winged Angel, so I decided to try for a less trodden route. Although unfortunately as I wrote this song, quite a few remixers posted their versions of what they imagined his battle theme to be as well. Which, indeed, is exactly what this is. As Undertale is a game written with leitmotif strongly in mind, I figured I'd follow the trend! And since Gaster's Theme is fairly short in itself, it gave me a lot of room to add things. The main melody from 0:38-0:58 is a rearranged version of the CORE theme, since that's where he did his thing. 0:58-1:16 contains the fan-favorite skeleton theme of Papyrus, since it's widely projected Gaster himself is a skeleton, and 1:16-1:36 harks back to the CORE theme again. I looped the track with a few minor changes, and all in all, I think I got the 'battle theme' vibe down pretty well. The final length is 3:40.

OCRemix Song Submission: Song name: And I Always Will Contact Information: Your ReMixer name – Level 99 Your real name - Various Your email address – Your website – http://level99.nighthorsemedia.com Your userid – 13318 Submission Information Name of game(s) arranged – We <3 Katamari (Lyrics from Katamari Forever) Name of individual song(s) arranged – Everlasting Love Composer: Akitaka Tohyama, Akitaka Tohyama, Alisa, Jun Tohyama Comments on the song: What could possibly embody more the Level 99 approach to making vgm mixes than an acoustic vocal arrangement layered with some synth accompaniment? No, seriously, I'm asking. Just something I did spur of the moment, wanting to see how much better my vocals have gotten since doing something like Radiance or Tuck n Roll. The arrangement is of the original Everlasting Love but the lyrics from from the "Everlasting Love + You" remix off of Katamari Forever, with a few choice modifications of my own to make them sound less direct-to-english. Arrangement combining the lyrics from Everlasting Love + You (with my modifications) with an acoustic version of the original Everlasting Love. Image Credit: http://dubers.deviantart.com/art/we-l... Lyrics: White clouds float in the bright blue sky, touch the seas infrequently Days and nights passing by all my dazzle days, We were bathed in happy harmony A gentle wind kissed my cheeks so softly, the caress pure as a dove We are on the long and winding road. Does it lead to everlasting love? Hold me in your arms, like we're melting away Happy grateful days, I can't stop loving you I love you - So much, take my breath away, oh I miss you - Hold me tight, anytime; Forever-ever It's my love - You can steal my heart away, oh It's your love - On the inside of your soul, digging deeper White birds swim in the bright blue sky, whisper out the wind in the trees From the view of mountains in the distance, pull me close as long as you please Looking at the cedar on the hill, the orange sun descends from above We are on the long and winding road. Does it lead to everlasting love? Hold me in your arms, there's no better company Listen, sing again, our sweet melody I love you - So much, take my breath away, oh I miss you - Hold me tight, anytime; Forever-ever It's my love - You can steal my heart away, oh It's your love - On the inside of your soul, digging deeper I can sing a song for you and me I can make a song for all who feel love I can sing a song for you and me I can make a song for all who feel love I can sing a song for you and me I can make a song for all who feel love I can sing a song for you and me I can make a song for all who feel love
  5. Hi, For your consideration, here is a Remix based on Castlevania themes 'Silence in the Daylight' (Castlevania II) and 'Chandeliers' (Super Castlevania IV), with a few of my own themes intermixed. Looks like I have missed the 2015 Castlevania tribute...perhaps this could be a candidate for 2016 Let me know if you have any questions or need additional details. cheers & thanks - Brandon Contact Information OC Remix User Name: brandonx76 Name: Brandon Klopp Website(s): 1. https://soundcloud.com/brandonx76 2. https://www.youtube.com/user/wrightguyz Your userid: 33021. Submission Information Name of game(s) arranged: Castlevania Name of arrangement: "Silence in the Mix - Halloween Theme" Name of individual song(s) arranged: Silence in the Daylight / Chandeliers Your own comments about the mix, for example the inspiration behind it, how it was made, etc.: A project I've been chipping away on for a few years. Always liked the Silence in the Daylight theme, but wanted to take it on a bit of a departure. I included original themes and eventually wanted to bridge to the Chandeliers theme. Since this is halloween type music, I wanted to include a nod to some of the themes from the music works of John Carpenter, as well as another game (Ys) during it's dark cave sequences.
  6. If this is his first official remix since beginning with production, I think he has journeyed forward quite a bit!
  7. Hi OC Remix, I am submitting my first official remix based on Final Fantasy I’s Dungeon Theme. Thank you! MP3 File: Contact Information: ReMixer Name: CelestialSonata Real Name: Zeo Chan Email Address: Website Address: www.celestialsonata.com User ID: 22831 Submission Information: Name of game(s) arranged: Final Fantasy I Name of arrangement: Journey Forward Name of individual song(s) arranged: Dungeon Theme Additional information about game including composer, system, etc. (if it has not yet been added to the site): Nobuo Uematsu (composer), NES (system) Link to the original soundtrack (if it is not one of the sound archives already available on the site): http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Dungeon_theme, http://ocremix.org/song/16520 Your own comments about the mix, for example the inspiration behind it, how it was made, etc.: This remix was started years ago around when I first learned music production and how to use a DAW, FL Studio. After a few months of production, I paused the project as I felt it wasn’t ready for the public and my ability was not where it needed to be. I had hoped to release it to OC ReMix back then, but I wouldn’t have been happy if I did. A few months ago, I’ve recreated the project entirely. I titled the track “Journey Forward” because it represents how much time I spent learning just to get this track to this point. It spans the entire length of time from when I first learned music production to today. The Final Fantasy I Dungeon theme is very short, around 25 seconds long on repeat. The challenge was to make it over 4 minutes, which meant a good amount of original material had to be added in. I really do love making long intros; you’ll find one here; no rushing it! 1:37 - 1:42 pays homage to the original track. The remix is produced Logic Pro, Native Instruments, and my Gibson SG guitar. Enjoy! -Zeo @CelestialSonata

The source melody was incredibly short, so I tried to improvise on top of the melody without being too repetitive. -James

We have some plans of putting a release together from these tunes + hopefully more, so I kindly ask to wait for more info on that before posting! (assuming this passes of course) I do believe Shining Force II is one of my favourite games and soundtracks. It's a light tactical JCRPG full of colourful characters and locales, with pretty well streamlined gameplay. Not super challenging, but lots of fun! Thanks to Teemu for borrowing me his Mega Drive and games back in the day, I still recall the playthrough fondly. Motoaki Takennuchi's prog-tinted soundtrack has many sides, it can be eerie, rousing or peppy, anything that the gameplay and story call for. So many great tracks on the soundtrack (and the recurring motifs are fun to spot throughout). I find it's also one of the best sounding scores on the Mega Drive. The source is the overworld theme, and also one of the battle themes. It's kind of the main theme of the game. It seems to be called "Wandering Warriors", but I don't know how official that is. I've given it a sort of deconstructive treatment, chopping the source to bits and building something else from the remains. The source is there pretty much the whole time, but it's been appropriated for the style & key so much, it might not be obvious (but hopefully, it's still legit for OCR). So the breakdown will point out what comes from where: 0:00-0:08 This arpeggio is present almost throughout the track. Based on 0:57-1:03. Here only the first measure is used. 0:08-0:23 Background pad based on the blasting horns in the intro 0:00-0:07 0:23-0:39 The bass follows the chord progression of 0:57-1:03 (the arp is still only based on the first measure). 0:39-0:54 The arp uses the first measure 3 times + the last measure, of 0:57-1:03. 0:54-1:10 The arp uses all the four measures of 0:57-1:03 along with the bass. 1:10-1:41 The melody is based on the fanfare bit at 1:11-1:20. 1:42-1:56 The melody is based on the high soaring melody at 0:36-0:50 1:56-2:03 This bit of the melody might be based (vaguely) on some part of the source, but I don't recognize it anymore. 2:03-2:11 Pretty much 0:07-0:14? 2:11-2:41 The "verse melody", 0:07-0:21 from source. What a missed opportunity to use the source up to 0:35. 2:42-3:28 The chorus repeats with the same stuff as before. 3:28-3:47 The arp, the pad and bits of the fanfare are featured. The style is some sort of techno made with mostly Commodore 64 samples. Done in Renoise, as always. I didn't have a plan, exactly, to make an arrangement with such a concept. These were just the samples that fell into place and seemed to work together, resulting in a fairly dry and harsh soundscape. I didn't even have to massage and polish the mix quite as much as is usual for me. That said, timaeus222 and Argle had some very good feedback in the Workshop to reduce crowdedness in the mix and arrangement, and do some other tweaks. Also thanks to Pleiade, Pirjo and SirJ for encouraging and useful feedback. This was also a bonus track for PRC round 277. (PRC! PRC!) I won the previous round and got to pick the source; I chose Wandering Warriors to rally up some interest for the Drive, and I thought it'd be appropriate to do a bonus track. It's strangely rare that I arrange (and especially finish arranging) tracks from games I actually love, so I'm pretty happy how this came out! cheers, --Eino

As a PC gamer, I always found it disappointing that there was a lack of appreciation for the soundtracks of computer games. So, I decided to start a band that solely plays music from those games! I worked really hard on the entire album and it's been a blast putting it out. This La-Mulana track is the most melody driven track on the album, and was a real treat to put together. Hopefully you guys enjoy these riffs, melodies, harmonies, and breakdowns as much as I enjoyed creating them! And check out La-Mulana 2 when it releases later this year! Long live PC gaming! 19. This is very sweet, and I definitely like the live version of the track better than the source. The mix has too much reverb or at least needs a high pass on the reverb. I like each iteration of the melody that you've got here, including the one that has been "trucker's gear shifted" up. Ultimately though, it's just the same melody over and over with zero interpretation and nothing original added and no transitions between them, so I don't feel like this is a complete arrangement. I'd sure love to hear this back though, as a more cohesive arrangement with your own spin added to it. It's a lovely start. NO (resubmit)

  21. ^Quote Vote^ Nuts nailed this vote. The leads imo really are the biggest issue. When the first sync lead enters at 0:44, it is PAINFULLY dry and so loud. The lead at 1:15 feels better because the contrast with the backing isn't so stark, mixing-wise... that second lead may have a touch of reverb on it, glueing it better with the track. There are several things you can do to make your lead sit better in the mix, but still shine. First, lower the volume so it's not so up-front. Give it just a touch of reverb with a long-ish predelay (90ms is a good target). Give it some very subtle delay. (Make sure you high pass reverbs and delays though, so that nothing below at least 200Hz is getting reverb or delay, as those will only provide mud.) Another thing you can do is to give your leads some filter movement. There are many ways to accomplish that, I suggest you look into it. I usually just slap on an instance of Etch because it has presets for filter movement, but you could also automate this with another plugin. I also want to add that I hear no sidechaining in the mix. If it's there, it's too subtle. You should experiment with sidechaining the kick to your bass and pads pretty heavily, and you can sidechain leads much more lightly (so it's not so obvious, but just provides some groove). In my own mixes I sidechain my kick to just about everything (even atmo and white noise sweeps!), in varying degrees. In your mix your kick isn't the greatest kick sound, but it's also buried due to lack of sidechaining. I suggest finding a better kick, and snare too. I have one more thing to add, listening again, I hear quite a few sour notes in the lead writing, and places where the melody contour gets messed up. Examples are: 1:19-1:23, 1:33-1:37 (contour messed up there), 1:53, 2:08,2:33 (sour notes), 2:45-3:00 (melody is awkward). None of this is dealbreaker, just something I noticed. NO (resubmit)

Im also known as Fungist. There is no real difference of the productions under both names, i just found "B-laze" to be harder to search for when people was looking for my music. But i preffer being listed under B-laze on OCremix so that my earlier music is grouped with my new. I Wanted to make Big Room house, its really not my domain and is my second take on the genre. After thinking shortly of some games i instantly figured out that Gobi's valley was the right track to remix. It has the eastern/egyptian theme and would fit great into a bigroom house remix. I started trying out a Lead for the main melody, and kept tweaking it until i had the preferred sound to match it with the egyptian theme of Gobi's valley. Then i just kept on producing the track using lots of sound effects from the game. When it comes to mixing Big room house it shouldn't really be a big deal, i did however end up with lots of sounds for the breakdowns and less for the monotonic climax and it did put some faults here and there but i fixed them as well as i could with my current low budget studio monitors. I have yet to seem some music of this genre on OCremix, so why not fill some more colors into the rainbow. Im currently looking through the project information as i write this and thought anyone would be interested in knowing this: Project started: 25.9.15 Total time spent producing: 20 hours 34 minutes. 25. I love the approach, and the intro vocal clips give me chills in the best way. THIS IS A LOUD MIX. I'm seeing -4.9db RMS on this bad boy. I think the final limiter could be dialed back just a teensy bit, but that's just because anything over about -6 makes me nervous! Still I gotta admit this master is clean, I don't hear unwanted distortion. Mixing gets a little busy when the vocal clips are competing with the big bass synth, in the intro and again later on. I'm hearing enough source and I really like what you've done with it. Overall, this is pretty badass. YES
