  1. he's slowly poisoning you

    I hope you know this

No, I suspect that he is using a binary poison. The poison in in the food, but so is the antidote. As long as Paladin-01 keeps eating the food from his neighbor, the poison won't kill him. Stop eating, and he dies.

    Very clever, and fiendish.

Because I'm a.) bored and b.) a total nerd, I feel compelled to point out that since he hasn't gotten sick from the food, the level of antidote must be enough to completely neutralize the poison. Therefore if he stopped eating the food, the result would be precisely dick, to quote Tommy Lee Jones.

On another note, does the guy say anything when he brings the food over, or does he just smile like a possum eating shit and then leave? Because It'd be creepy if he did that.

  2. Yeah, question for all you experienced audio people out there. I've been a holdout for MP3 format files forever, because most of what you download is already in that format, and it's the most compatible format. It does not, however, have the best compression anymore. I'm an iPod/iTunes user. Can anyone recommend a format with better compression than MP3 that's compatible with iPod? I prefer to have my entire audio collection in one format for the sake of convenience rather than 15 different types of files, so I'd be mass converting about 20 gigs of stuff. Also, my baseline for audio quality is about what you'd get with 192 kbps MP3. If you can help, thanks.

  3. Feel free to flame me all to hell if you're being consistently bugged about this, but have the fixed bonus tracks been uploaded yet? I tried using the originals in iTunes and they didn't work, obviously. I tried saving them again in Goldwave, and Goldwave froze on me. I downloaded the fixed files from Sendspace and edited the snapping at the beginning out with Adobe Audition, and resaved them. But they won't import into iTunes, as in, I can't even add them to the library. So have any official fixed files been put up yet?

  4. The theory behind this one is good, and it's got a nice groove. But as mentioned, this is really repetitive. That's difficult to solve because the source tune is as well. I'd like to see you try bringing in the male choir part of the original song, not necessarily with the choir, but it really helped break the cycle of the original instead of putting you on a merry-go-round of piano. Great effort, though.

  5. Thank you, Darangen. I finally managed to resuscitate my computer after 3 weeks of horrifying luddite-ness and this was the first thing that came wafting over my speakers. Friggin' awesome mix. I haven't liked anything from OCR this much in a long time. It does sound a whole lot like closing time, but that's not a bad thing by a long shot. Rawk on, man.

  6. I agree with Bobwillis. Just in case you're a n00b, Revolver, being compared to CotMM is a very good thing. But this stands on its own 2 feet. I love good crunchy industrial, and this does something I particularly like. You maintained a sort of brooding sound through the entire mix, like you were about to bust into some earschplitten chorus at any time. But you didn't. That feeling is exactly what Metroid feels like, if you know where I'm going. Anyways, excellent mix.

  7. PURE. GOLD. Not since the famed Music of My Groin have I heard such goodness. What is it about Zelda that attracts such humorous interpretation from it's fans? This is awesome stuff. I laughed my butt off. I loved the tip to Green Day at the beginning, too. This sounds so much like a high school prom, it's not even funny. The actual remix is awesome too. Overall, this is a +5/+5 Remix of Awesome. w00t!

  8. I asked, and I recieved! When I reviewed Helen's first song, I specifically asked for a mix of this song, and boy did I get it! What an incredible piece of music. This is a remix of my absolute favorite song from SD3, and it surpasses the original in every way. Now, one might not think that a Super Nintendo song would be hard to surpass, but 'Delicate Affection' had a quality to it that's hard for me to describe. This mix captures it, and indeed, makes it even better. I love the sort of 'concert hall echo' that has been applied to the mix. Also, the sample quality is awesome. I myself don't use samples, but I've listened to enough mixes to know these are top end. And thank God, I am not plagued by thoughts of the Titanic theme song, because I've never seen the movie! Well, except the good part where Leotardo DeCrappiho drowns. EXCELLENT work from Destiny, who is quickly carving her niche in OC history. Keep it up!

  9. Oh, man. What a great mix. This song is genius. I still think Brainsick Metal is the reigning king of OC MegaMan X mixes, but this is great. For those who don't know, this mix makes fun of all those who possess that mysterious inability to beat a MegaMan X game. I used to be one. When I was about 7, I would play MegaMan X on my brother in law's top of the line Super Nintendo as much as I could. I probably heard the password screen music more than any other song in the game. I'm 18 now, and I've beaten MegaMan X about 14 times. No, it doesn't take long. I've sharpened the process to where I can do it in 1 and 1/2 hours. Without EVER dying. I've also beat 2, 3, and 4. I love these games. But enough about my skillz. Star Salzman really shines here. While I personally don't like this song as much as 'Robot' it is, as I said, a hilarious song. Get it now, if you haven't already.

  10. I'm not sure how many of our ReMixers are female, due to all the *cool secret code-names*, but I am certain that you, Helen, are in the minority. So first of all, congratulations on challenging a man's world. And such a well done challenge, too. Seiken Densetsu 3's incredible music is often completely overlooked simply because it (never?) saw an American release. Hence, only the Import\Emulator crowd knows about it. But Fable always was one of my favorite themes from SD3, second only to Delicate Affection. (Which I always thought sounded like the Jurassic Park theme song.)

Anyways, this is a great interpretation. One of my few complaints is that I feel the time signature change sort of detracted from the empty, longing, sad feeling the original invoked in me. But this is just opinion. The mix itself is great, and unlike everybody else, I quite like your flute sample. The interpretive chorale at 1:42 was excellent. Could have been longer though. (Where have you heard that before?) Anyways, excellent first mix, and keep them coming. Delicate Affection next. PLEASE???
