  1. My question is how should I handle repeating sections of a song (if at all). Some of the stuff one this site, do have repetition in them. I want to know some idea of how to pull this off. I currently have a song that has no repetition and is around a minute long. Could I repeat some of the stuff to make it 2 minutes?
  2. This is a version of saria's song was inspired by the sacred grove theme. I tried to make it sound a bit older and more mature. V.2 EDIT: Removed the sfx intro. Removed second melody. Added an excerpt from the twilight princess version. Changed the song structure. Added several new instruments. The whole soundscape is now richer, and focuses on one melody. The end is still abrupt. I'll fix it later on.
  3. Wow, this is amazing. I just had to say it. I saw this remix on the WIP storage, and I loved it, and felt like I knew it. I had to ask in the community forum to find this thread and the name of the song. Turns out I never played super mario 64, and yet you made it nostalgic somehow. This is simply amazing. I hope it gets accepted if you submit it.
  4. ... or make an idiot out of me. There is a song in the WIP storage that I know, but can't quite remember what it's called. The link is here http://ocrwip.fireslash.net/store/File%20Select%20v7-3.mp3. I checked the WIP forums and couldn't find anything related to it, and the name is less than helpful. I'd really appreciate if someone could give me the name of this song. Bonus if you could direct me to whoever made it cuz it's awesome.
  5. Just like the title says, I want to know how like it takes to get accepted on ocremix. Just not an average, I want to know how long it took you to get accepted.
  6. After a few seconds my first reaction was "crap, lyrics." About 30 seconds in and my reactions was "this actually isn't bad." 2 minutes in and I know i'm listening to the whole thing. This is actually really good. Awesome!
  7. The production, and musical nuances in this song are great. I love the feel, similar to other DS remixes. My only gripe, is the fact that this version, doesn't have the same sadness as the original. The ending with Zelda's lullaby takes the mood further away from the original as well. I'm not saying it doesn't sound good, I just can't stand the change in feeling. Guess that's just how much I love the original. Great remix though.
  8. *New version on the original post* Updates: Shortened the intro and increase the sound level of the ambient sounds sounds. Added some more to the bass. The ambient sounds should balance with the relative simplicity of the bass. Added more bell effects to balance against the flute. Trimed some of the unnecessary parts to keep it from dragging on.
  9. As much as I like how the song went, my skills at remixing are not nearly enough to give justice to the potential of the mix, and for that matter the original. Any feedback, is still appreciated, but for now I won't be updating it. I just need to practice more before I can finish this. Version 2 now up
  10. Having played metroid fusion (a lot), there was always one section that gave me trouble, the time in sector 2 where you have to run past the SA-X. Never could get past that without cheats. Remembering that, it gave me some inspiration for a remix. I tried to make a really dark version of the sector 2 theme. Any reviews would be greatly appreciated.
