hey 2009, the future says what up four years later. it's 2013 now. crazy. new account, new wip of this mix here old one isn't even available anymore so it's almost like we're starting fresh, which is good, because the old version of this mix blows NOTES: -obviously after the first chorus it's kinda fuzzy, it just stops at that one point because i'm not sure where to go next -not sure about how hard i want that kick but eh

Live Action Cowboy Bebop in the works
spellmynamewithabang replied to rem's topic in General Discussion
I know that the track record isn't promising, I'm just saying that until we see anything substantial either way we can't definitely say it's going to totally suck, or for that matter be the best film either. I'm just optimistic, which is apparently unheard of on the internet. =P -
Live Action Cowboy Bebop in the works
spellmynamewithabang replied to rem's topic in General Discussion
Firstly, if you're going to insult a movie do it properly, the title is Speed Racer, not "Spped." Secondly, there wasn't a huge turnout for Speed Racer, it was a box office flop that lost truckloads of cash. And thirdly, Speed Racer was a fucking brilliant film, ffs. Seriously. What would you expect from a film based on a 40-year old anime series famous for being butchered in the dub? Batman Begins? It does what it does perfectly- provide intentionally cheesy, immensely spectacular fun that dazzles the mind and imagination. The colors, people, the colors. It was like eating sugar with your eyes, and even moreso brilliant in IMAX. On that same note, I absolutely detest the reaction that the internet has had towards this film-hell, towards film adaptations like this in general. The film is being made by the guy who did A Scanner Darkly, you guys. If you remember, that film was good. If he approaches Cowboy Bebop in a similar fashion as was done Speed Racer, but with the style of A Scanner Darkly, this could well be one of the best adaptations from animation to live action yet made. As for the music, I would fucking love to see the motifs of the series be adapted into an orchestral/jazz hybrid, with a little bit of an electronic beat thrown in there for good measure. I'm not ignoring the possibility that the film could be royally screwed up, I'm just saying that y'all need to get your heads out of the sand and stop being so overly critical of something you have nearly no information about. It's arrogant and presumptuous of you. And seriously, learn to enjoy yourselves once in a while at the movies! Films like Speed Racer are golden because they provide a reprieve from more serious and intellectual fare, which I enjoy just as much. If there wasn't an Azumanga Daioh and Haruhi Suzumiya for every Serial Experiments Lain and Death Note then I'd fear my face would explode. -
CMC - Conceptual Music Competition 21: Determination

Total surprise, guys. I'm back. I made terrible entries for CMC 6 and 7 AND I HAVE RETURN. So you guys are going to learn how a real man screws up a song. =) -
link blah, it's a WIP. it's my first remix attempt in a year, if you remember how terrible I was back then then you probably will notice that there hasn't been much improvement at all

I don't. Trust me. I go to another forum and she used to be a member there. She was banned for very similar reasons to why she got flak here. She has a certian reputation for being argumentative, usually not knowing what the hell she's talking about, making annoyingly long posts that state basically the same thing over and over, calling people "neo-cons" and just generally unpleasant to deal with. So yeah, it wasn't surprising to me. I was just reading through and I was shocked to read that same username. And then when the shit hit the fan on page two I knew it was her. =P On the subject of the topic at hand, I use Slayer 2 as my primary guitar synth and run it through some effects, so if you want a quickly editable synth guitar, use that. It usually sounds fine.

I submitted it. Wish me luck. -
No sound. At all.

Trust me, there would be sound either way if things were working. -

Sonic 3 - Brainfreeze

Um, I have a bit of a problem, and the mix can't go further if it's not solved... -
I get up and my brother fiddles around with FL for all of ten seconds, and now I can't get any sound from it in the least. And I do not want to have to start over. Help?

Sonic 3 - Brainfreeze

Version 2.0 I changed the snare sample but forgot to fiddle with the velocity of the drums more, so those sections with the "Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da" in a row feel mechanical still. Drumbeats are basically the same. Pads and strings added to flesh it out more, as well as an arpeggiated overdriven synth to add some flavor. Please feedback me some el feedbacko. -
People, I am tackling the oh-so-coveted grail of Ice Cap Zone. Oh no. It's probably horrible compared to what it could be. Please give feedback.

It will never happen.

I haven't worked on a ReMix in a long long time. I wasn't ever good enough to do so. So I kind of just quit it for a while. And then I attempted again. Using one of my favorite themes. The intro to Stardust Speedway Bad Future US Version is amazing, I think. Medium-development WIP: get it here. It's rough and is cut short at the end(I haven't finished, obviously), but you get the general idea of what I'm trying to do. I think. Comments please. Have I improved?
-
Dawwww, I was going to start this one. =( But yes, there are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too many projects right now. EDIT: Um, no, as far as I know the future music is not remixed from the present music. Sonic CD is kinda my favorite game ever, and I know a truckload about it. Compare Stardust Speedway present and Stardust speedway Bad Future. I'm too lazy google them.

I have changed my mind. E102 Gamma's theme is so compelling. Glassy Harbor will wait for now(BUT I SHALL RETURN TO IT), I am digging this melody.
-
Awesome. I am so going to do this. This might actually be the perfect time to perfect Glassy Harbor. \\m//
-
Although I rather don't like people who feel the need for others to do the work for them, I would gladly try out so as to get better at it.
-
You'll figure it out. I have little to no formal music training and am more of a visual thinker, so using the piano roll is far easier for me. I don't go by note names, I go by the sounds they make.
